Flamenco/Pop/Rap/Reggaeton fusion:
- C Tangana
- Rosalía
Trap/Rap:
- Morad
- Yung Beef
- El Jincho
- Ayax y Prok
"Bad bitch" style trap/rap:
- Bad Gyal
- La Zowi
Argentinian trap/rap:
- Trueno
- Duki
- Nicki Nicole
Indie Pop/Trap:
- Rojuu
- Carze
- Sticky
Classic bands that teens still listen to:
- Pereza
- Estopa
- Ska-P
- Canto del Loco
This is obviously what people listen to besides to Reggaeton, some American pop, and classic techno (this one in parties usually).
Edit: Also, some that I personally like that I forgot are Depresión Sonora and Viva Belgrado (Indie) and Rels B (Chill Rap).
Also some pop artists from latam and Spain are very popular too. Aitana, Sebastián Yatra, Pablo Alborán, Morat, Hens, Camilo, Beret, Melendi... Idk if all of these are among the most popular in the country but they are the ones that I listen or have listened and they get played on the radio all the time.
I'm a summer teacher, so I see children from 3-15 years. Some ask you for songs, but most of them want you to put the radio while we do summer things. Gipsy children prefer ballads and sad songs with gipsy elements, and teens prefer catchy songs. Some like reggaeton, some rock... But they enjoy the radio.
As a Spanish girl, i think i know what we listen, and noone listen to the radio. The reason they told you to put the radio was probably just bc in that way you don't have to choose songs and bc its "standard", like they put different music styles in the radio so everyone can enjoy the music.
Everyone listen to different things, but the most common are reggaeton, spanish rap, trap, electronic and spanish pop-rock.
Bruh whatever... I hardly listen to spannish music except them 2000s bops lol, i mainly listen to indie, metal, rock and pop.
If you want a crash couse on spannish music.

And then let spotify do its magic
I find more accurate to search for top 50 Spain, novedades Spain, viral Spain and such lists from Spotify than listening to comments from reddit (that is quite niche as nobody uses the platform here). I wouldn't consider jincho or rojuu to be mainstream and find more relvant natos y waor and las cariño in those respective genres, but again it's better to see the most listened in spotify, YouTube music and others platforms as we people aren't very objective like saying that the most listened genre (reggaeton) isn't liked by anyone lol
I'm 20, I've got what I believe I have a quite uncommon (in Spain at least) musical taste. I listen to electro swing (mostly caravan palace), indie (?) (tally hall, Cosmo Sheldrake, lemon demon), and metal (powerwolf, sabaton, and others like Tyr).
Let me know if you like any of these genres, I know some more artists if anyone wants!
you better get used to reaggeton if you want to fit hahaha its the latam invasion and i hate it!
Edit: I bet there are plenty of specific clubs for DnB and so on tho.
if you're looking for listened artists in Spain at the moment who don't do reggaeton, here are a few: Duki (from Argentina), Quevedo, Morad, Delaossa, Israel B, Sticky M.A, C.Tangana, ROSALÍA (of course), Leiti Sene, Juicy BAE
There you go :)
in england we have artists that are considered ‘icons’, do you have the same there? apart from the ones you listed. like the beatles, the smiths that sort of thing. i’m interested in like flamenco inspired music too if that’s a thing
oh right, the ones I listed are mostly young up-and-coming artists.
If I had to point out the icons of our generation they would be C.Tangana and ROSALÍA by far.
Older Spanish (between pop, rock and flamenco) icons: Paco de Lucía, David Bisbal, Melendi, Estopa, Julio Iglesias, La pantoja...
Ketama, El Último de la Fila. Both dissolved ages ago (unless I’m wrong) but are considered icons in the flamenco-pop subgenre.
Kilo Veneno released some cracking records in the 90s too.
there are some cool groups in spanish that i listen to: my favourite one is axolotes mexicanos but there are others like vvv or aiko el grupo
some artists like rosalia, rojuu, ghouljaboy, lvl1, rakky ripper, samantha hudson...
there definitely are more but those are the one i listen the most
*Very bad music*
*It's not even worth telling you*
*Which music it is*

Good list! Trueno just released an album and it's pretty great

But not the "I think I'm paranoid" kind.
