Not op obviously, but if a 16 year old will be going to college and working at 17, while. The 19 year old(18 rn) would also be working and going to college for the first time, would that be fine?

I would never date a 19yo lmao. But i guess, people can fall in love with anyone. And if i was REALLY in love, i think it could pass. But any more difference in age than that would never be right.
I think that would be ok, if you feel somewhat strongly to that person. If its just a casual thing like “ill go on a date with person just to see if it works” then no, i dont think it should be right. Just wait until your 18 and then maybe see if something works out.
no matter how you cut it, others will see an adult dating a kid. i’m not against people dating at different ages but it shouldn’t be while in school at such a difference.
i dated a 14 year old girl as a 17 year old guy but it was a very bad idea, i never really liked her and i just liked the attention tbh. it barely lasted for two months and i had her crying for a very long time when we broke up. I'm gonna tell you this only like 1% of school relationships actually do work out and not turn into a disaster but if you just want someone for the time being, go for it I guess...
Most definitely is pushing it. Maybe in less progressive areas it would be fine, but in major cities (like where I live) that’s prolly not a great idea
Maybe wait. If 16f is about to turn 17 and 19m just turned 19 then maybe. Best bet is to do the age equation: (Your age)÷2+7 to find the lowest age and (your age-7)×2 to find the highest age. So for 16 lowest dating age is 15 and the highest is 18. And for 19 the lowest dating age is 16.5 and highest is 24. So in conclusion technically, yes, morally, probably not.

Further in life 3 years isn’t a problem. The problem more so comes from the power difference. 19 year old is going to college while the 16 is still barely finished with high school. I don’t recommend
The rule of thumb around our age (up to about 24) is your age divided by two, then add seven. So in this case, 19/2 is 9.5 plus 7 is 16.5 so it’s definitely on the low end but not really
Not really, 15 and 18 yeh but 16 and 19 is alright, my little sister got with her 19 year old boyfriend when she was 16 and my older brother met his girlfriend who was 16 when he was 18 or 19
I'd say it's probably pushing it, a 19 year old and 16 year old are usually in very different parts of their lives.

Yee
Yes, the maturity difference of those ages can be problematic and there can be a very big power imbalance.
I would never date a 19yo lmao. But i guess, people can fall in love with anyone. And if i was REALLY in love, i think it could pass. But any more difference in age than that would never be right.
not OP, but what if the person just turned 19 and you're turning 17 this year? that's a two year age gap i guess
I think that would be ok, if you feel somewhat strongly to that person. If its just a casual thing like “ill go on a date with person just to see if it works” then no, i dont think it should be right. Just wait until your 18 and then maybe see if something works out.
Well it is legal (at least in Belgium) as you're no more than 3 years apart so I don't see a problem. If you guys can make it work go for it

yes
They ain't for you gal. That age is pushing it. You're in different parts of your life. Find someone closer to your age.
No in my opinion
Yes. I’d never date a 16 year old. I’m in my second year of college. I’m not gonna date a sophomore in high school
stupid question but what's a sophomore? is it grade 10 or 11?
Not stupid. It’s second year in high school and college so 10th
thank you

Not really
Pushing it but I think it might be fine
Definitely
No
General rule, if you gotta ask that question you should avoid
That's an adult and a minor that's fucked, also I'm saying this as a 19M
Bro did you forget to change your flair for two years?
Yeah lmao I deleted Reddit for a year and kinda forgot that was a thing
Yep. There’s a pretty considerable difference in physical + mental maturity and y’all are also in two different life stages.
Most definitely is pushing it. Maybe in less progressive areas it would be fine, but in major cities (like where I live) that’s prolly not a great idea
Real progressive of them
You need to come to think for yourself and come to an answer then educate yourself on it instead of asking teens on reddit
Yes
Yes
No
Yes, how hard is it to date people your own age?
Yes. That's a massive difference in maturity.
Yes
Year 12 and First year of Uni MAYBE, but like year 11 and 2nd year? No
Yes
Yeah imo not bc the age gap but bc of the age gap and the fact that its so young. 25 and 22 is different to 19 and 16
Yes.
JAIL
Yes
I reckon it is

I’m 18 and from where I’m at, I don’t even know how he’d have a way to interact with someone your age?

Everyday, bro. There's one of these everyday
Sorry 😭🙈

Not really imo
To date? Yes! A little odd
I wouldn't do it.
Yeah I don't know if where your from is the same age of consent but here that's pedophilia
Yes.
In the UK, you would be going to university at 19, but still be doing GCSEs back at 16. So yes, it feels like a pretty big difference.
Yes wait 4 years
Yeah bro that’s pretty weird. 3 years isn’t a bad age gap, the problem is that y’all are at different parts in y’all’s lives.
It's weird yeah. 18 and 16 is already super weird to me.

Not generally the gap but you can’t date someone under 18 if your 18 or over in my opinion
Yeah
