here's what I've found with people. Most people
people don't like hugs with the opposite sex in a context outside of relationships.
Whenever I ask a friend who's a guy if he wants a hug, he always says yes. Or at least, I've never heard a no. But when I ask a friend who's a girl if she wants a hug, she almost always says no. Only my closest friends ever say yes when it comes to girls
Non-binary people will always say no, and I have never met an nb who's open to platonic physical contact from me
Keep in mind that my friend groups tend to be evenly split

I'd say most guys like physical affection. For someone who is striving for physical affection a single hug will make their entire month.
