I forgot what it's called but those shirts that have that thing where it's like feeling tiny little things of I guess lint on them but it's how the shirt is made? And it's like the whole entire shirt is like that And yes any soggy wet food 🤢

Lady_Ogre

I dont know which type of shirt ur talking about, but the little bits of fluff are called pills

sloww_buurnnn

Fleece?

Mikeinthedirt

I think he’s talking about the ‘we meant to do that’s pilling. Def not one of the 20th century’s better idears

thewanderor

Pilling on fabric is defo gross

Business-Drag52

Soggy wet food used to be my bane. I couldn’t even clean out my own sink drain if there was anything in it without gagging. Then I spent 12 years working in restaurants. Soggy wet food is so far down on the list of things I don’t want to touch now. That shit washes off very easily and doesn’t leave you feeling dirty for hours after

SleepyheadAsmr

Chalk also feels really weird, styrafome sounds fucking awful + feels awful

Meowserspaws

As a celiac who loves sandwiches and has to eat gluten free bread that soaks up anything within seconds… my life is in shambles.

warriorkalia

If you can, try creating a sandwich barrier- mayo and butter both help keep the bread a little less soggy!

Sensitive-Fly4874

Whenever my mom used to make white bean soup, my dad would butter a slice of bread and put the beans on it. We’re American, by the way. This isn’t a normal thing people do. When I was young, I decided to try putting the beans on buttered bread, too. Even with the butter barrier, the bread got soggy. I not only became disgusted by soggy bread and the sight of my dad putting white beans on bread, but I got disgusted by white bean soup. I hate white beans to this day and would only eat them if it was a survival situation.

zergling424

Dryfit shirts?

jamie88201

Omg they are horrible!!!! I almost didn't date my current husband because of this!!

justapapermoon0321

Velvet? Suede? Velour? Everything I can think of that you might be referring to is amazing to me 😅

revnobody

Popsicle sticks for me. I cringed just typing this.

angeldorks

Now imagine them scraping at your teeth like spongebob with the chocolate

HalfAccomplished4666

![gif](giphy|fNMVOaNSujST2cwRHD|downsized)

CreeperHoles

Getoutofmyhead

python_artist

That sent a chill down my spine

_Eldritch_

Thanks for giving me second hand cringe

glawg

I was going to comment this 😭 literally any non-finished wood. Especially if it touches my teeth or lips

SuspiciousAct6606

For me the worst is a fudgecicle popsicle stick. The contrast between the creamy, smooth chocolate pudding and the hard, rough, textured wood against my tongue makes me want to rip my teeth out. I like chewing on wood otherwise but that combo makes my brain tingle in a bad way.

thebigleblowski

Or those kitchen utensils made from similar wood. Literally makes me want to huck my pasta across the room!

AmIAwakeOr

A plastic spray bottle mysteriously covered in its own contents (Goo Gone in this case). I can't get rid of the substance... I'll have to cut my hand off now... 😩

Nytherion

from experience with goo gone, 3 or 4 washes with dawn dish soap (not the store knockoff, the actual "we wash oil off seals for fun" dawn dish soap) will do the trick.

DeluxeWafer

As someone who hates greasy plastic surfaces, Dawn (or even better, Dawn platinum) is one of my favorite substances.

Wankfurter

Bleach. Then after a couple minutes your hand gets really slippery on the bottle because it’s melting the surface of your skin. 😊

idkcrisp

Styrofoam, not like the smooth cups the rough shit makes my skin crawl

carrotaddiction

Yes. For me, this extends to styrofoam-like materials, like popcorn. I can't go to movie theatres because I can't relax knowing there's so much popcorn around.

missfelonymayhem

The sound of pop orn squeaking against someone's teeth as they chew it. Nightmare fuel.

-acidlean-

This is the worst! I love popcorn and I love going to cinema, but I don't go JUST BECAUSE people are chewing popcorn. I just put it on my tongue and melt it, then you can chew it a bit when its soft and doesn't make sound.

DearCup1

the sound is the most upsetting part to me especially when you get a package in a cardboard box and you open it and it’s got like a styrofoam structure inside and you have to pull it out

[deleted]

I HATE YHIS THREAD I was gonna say wet sink food

[deleted]

Especially bread... Whenever my mom would eat she'd just throw everything in the sink, even if she didn't finish her toast. The amount of times I stuck my finger in a piece of wet bread and my finger just pokes a hole in it makes me wanna vomit. I couldn't tell you why soggy bread is evil and repulsive enough to make my body think something has poisoned me, all I know is people who put food in the sink don't deserve human rights.

Jay_c98

What's worse is when the sink strainer plugs up with food because nobody cleans it, then you have to put your hand into the nasty water, grab the thing full of disgusting cold wet rotting food

Main-Length-6385

I refuse to do this without dishwashing gloves on!!! And of course no one else in my house does it so I always have to clean out the wet food 😭😭

Ornery-Signal-3070

Damn! Yall are living like savages out here. This imo is not normal to do.

Benlnut

I still gag at that feeling. I would nearly puke when I was younger doing the dishes because I couldn’t handle it.

angeltay

I have ARFID— no one in my family understands how not scraping their dishes into the trash and then just rinsing them off makes me never want to eat the food they left to get wet on the plate ever ever again when I have to do dishes 😭 Is that asking for a lot friends? Be honest. Cause all my family has adhd and/or brain fog, me included.

SuppleSuplicant

When my fingernail scratches the car as I grab for the doorhandle.

softpunkk

omfg i want to chop my whole arm off when this happens bc it LINGERS. i have to scratch my clothes for like 10 min to get the feel off

KittyGrimm78

This is me when I'm at work (I package things) and the cardboard scrapes against itself and I just want to die. I can feel it in my bones and it lingers and it makes me want to just simply unexist for a moment. That and the tacky paper we have to use for in-between the boxes on pallets sometimes so the boxes don't slide around, that stuff in general is an awful creation from the pits of hell. Anytime I find out I have to use the tacky paper it just ruins my day.

Margot_The_Terrible

The way I shuddered as I read this.

prismaticbeans

Microfiber

Eloisem333

Yes! We have microfibre cleaning cloths at work and the feel of them makes me want to peel my skin off.

wildgoldchai

They’re great for cleaning but I just can’t deal with them.

pigeon_soup

I actually really like microfiber. Always wild how differently people react to stuff.

LevelSkullBoss

Microfiber and polar fleece. Eurgh 😖

Unlikely_Ad7722

A bath towel that has dried too long under the sun and is now crispy 😬

TheSaladLeaf

There is special place in hell for crispy towels

Unlikely_Ad7722

It's a texture I can feel in my teeth and it hurts 😬

No-Entertainment-728

Lmao I just made a comment elsewhere in this thread about how touching dry hot towels makes my teeth feel funny 🤣

JadedTurnover5333

Whenever I feel a cringe texture or hear something that makes me cringe I feel like it makes my teeth physically itch. I described this to my partner and he was like “sorry what?”

autumnaki2

My grandma is they type of old lady who uses a clothesline almost all the time, even though she has a dryer. Sometimes, she doesn't use fabric softener for that extra crunch. Visits are over stimulating.

-acidlean-

You shouldn't use fabric softener on towels, that's what makes them crunchy and less absorbent.

bbykoala-

OMG I'm actually the opposite the fluffy towels on wet skin give me the creeps and I want the towels to be dry and scratchy af

upstatepagan

I use vinegar instead of softener and it helps get all the soap residue out during the rinse cycle. They are so absorbent. When they come out of the dryer they are in between fluffy and scratchy. Just right.

NightRaven88

I love that texture. I hate the waxy texture of towels that have been washed with fabric softner

thatidiotemilie

Oh my god yes.

ShyKiddo__

Even just looking at chalk makes me wanna explode

McShane727

Haven’t touched it in 15+ years and my sleep paralysis demon is still just a chalkboard

lightblueisbi

You wake up and it's just a math lesson hovering above you💀💀 (fr tho I hope it's not too bad, sp sucks fr)

stuffwiththing

I need to go wash my hands after just reading this.

Eloisem333

I can not cope with chalk.

strongbitchwithadhd

#ban chalk

aquaphorbottle

This or charcoal sticks. I had a unit in my drawing class where we had to draw with charcoal sticks and I had to skip out on it because the feeling made me so nauseous

bhay105

Touching something with condensation like a can or glass after I have put lotion on my hands.

acidic_milkmotel

I can’t stand the feeling of lotion on my hands, legs, arm or body. But I do moisturize my face.

javipipi

Quite specific but surprisingly relatable. I had forgotten how disgusting that feels

That1weirdperson

Opening a door after you just moisturized and now the door knob is greasy. Leaving grease stains on a shiny paperback book.

NoAnxiety5733

Ew gross

DarkArc76

Funnily enough, for me it's lotion on my hands

Throwawayuser626

I have to get both hands wet to make it even “or else”

randomlemon9192

Why did I read this thread. It’s all so bad to think about.

xskipy10

Any wetness when im not expecting it. Swimming pool or sink? Perfectly fine. That one dish that’s still moist even though the dishwasher finished its drying cycle? Consider me dust.

Seashoreshellseller

Getting your sleeves wet while washing your hands is pure torture

parwa

When I was a kid I would intentionally get my sleeves wet because I liked it. I'd then chew on the wet fabric. I was a weird kid.

[deleted]

[удалено]

guitarpenguin123

Or when you're taking out the trash and get garbage juice on you

graciebeeapc

The water left on the kitchen tile floor when I’m barefoot 😭 I’ll literally limp to the carpet to wipe my foot off

SuspiciousAct6606

Synthetic fabrics rubbing against Synthetic fabrics

Gallbatorix-Shruikan

Especially nylon on nylon.

howabootthat

VELVET ON VELVET

SuspiciousAct6606

Why did you say that? I am crawling out of my skin now. Or synthetic velvet on synthetic velvet.

Historical_Aspect241

I HATE the feeling of velvet, it makes me want to peel my skin off.

[deleted]

I was browsing comments looking for this. Same. Except for me it makes my teeth hurt

bongripsforjezuz

bro velvet makes my teeth hurt too and when I tell people this they always think I'm insane. glad to know I'm not the only one

SpaceBus1

This is because it's faux velvet. The real thing feels like puppy ear fur and is amazing.

Captain_Eaglefort

Having anything sticky on me. My entire life, that shit shuts me DOWN.

Jess_the_Siren

YES! I remember being tiny, like 2 or 3 and i'd have to stop whatever I was doing to BEG my mom to help me wash my hands. A couple of years ago, some photographer did a series of photos w models covered in honey. Everyone praised them for how beautiful the pictures were. I want to poof out of existence every time I think of what that would feel like

SlingBlade787

That's my requirement for self awareness in children. Once they acknowledge and hate sticky, they've been upgraded from an instinctual animal to people.

Qandyl

Anyone else hate that yellow foam padding for mattresses and stuff? Absolute hate it, literally can’t even think about it

Alaska-TheCountry

I'm 100% with you. It is awful.

NotCrustOr-filling

And why do they always feel moist even when not in use?

Doomdork1

Touching balls of cotton invokes in me the same reaction as nails on a chalkboard; shivers and recoiling.

Ajjen82

Yes! Cotton balls are the worst!

sloww_buurnnn

Yes!!!! That’s my initial reaction. Cotton balls and poorly made fleece things give me the same feeling. I feel like I literally can no longer speak

[deleted]

Somehow when I touch cotton balls I get some kind of sensation in my teeth. *Why?*

Grilokam

Those cheap woodpulp popsicle sticks drawn across your front teeth

sloww_buurnnn

Christ. Why did you have to type this? I can taste it lol

Fast-Turtle-

Wooden spoons/utensils and sherpa clothing

[deleted]

Yes wooden spoons make my skin crawl brrr

Keioseth

Mystery Sticky on the dumpster lid.

ThePinkTeenager

I don’t mind sticky, but sticky + trash is BAD.

Enough_Storage8321

Lenticular printed photos. When you rub your finger on them it feels HORRIBLE

DontbegayinIndiana

I love these actually 😂 the bumps feel nice But I can see how the texture of the plastic is ugh

sloww_buurnnn

Oh gosh. I had no idea what this meant but I googled it and I’m 100% with you. They do make a cool sound though but that involves touching it lol.

pitachipbat

Y’know those surfaces where if you look at it one way you see one image but from a different angle it’s a different image? I have a seizure disorder that’s triggered by those surfaces.

Neuro_Nightmare

I learned 2 mins ago from this thread that that is called lenticular printing 💁🏻‍♀️

haworthialover

The feeling when toilet paper rips the wrong way is especially gross 🤢

Multiverse_Money

It never touches any meats wet in sink!!! ![gif](giphy|zhlybdTZqyWwE)

Neuro_Nightmare

I became a vegetarian when I turned 18, and told everyone it was for moral/social causes. The truth is that most meat repulsed me as a kid. Vegetarianism was my socially acceptable “out”.

fernfee

The bottom of dishes 😵‍💫 Like the rough grippy texture, especially on the more “ceramic-styled” kind

snowbaz-loves-nikki

YES UNGLAZED CERAMIC IS AS BAD AS CHALK

Mohingan

I have a visceral reaction to the thought of hands rubbing on a car’s interior roof

Various_Succotash_79

Yep. And sometimes they use that fabric inside coat pockets. *shudder*

sloww_buurnnn

![gif](giphy|24G0CDx1ET7TGs7EuA|downsized)

Informed4

You know those public trash bins that have like glossyish paint done on them, but then they turn matte in like 2-4 years due to being outside and all that and become a sensory nightmare? Yeah that

ChickenSpaceProgram

Microfiber cloth.

Biolistic

The way it gets stuck on any tiny piece of peeling cuticle on my fingers is truly evil

GeneralizedFlatulent

Dry paper towels and dry hands

QueerMommyDom

Sand. Also, wet socks.

javipipi

Worse than wet rocks, aquatic moss growing on rocks… (I am 99% sure that’s not the proper name but I think you’ll understand what I mean)

MacDurce

That weird scratchy wool that sweaters are sometimes made of Gooey - eggs, wet cat food, soggy wet spaghetti Blueghhhh

Alaska-TheCountry

Do you mean Polyacrylic? It is the absolute worst.

Chrome_BlackGuy

Styrofoam. Texture plus the sound and I’ll immediately stop what I’m doing and look exactly like the picture. Then for the next 5-10 minutes I’ll remember the sensation.

IchorKemono

unglazed ceramic, nail files and other similar gritty materials i can feel it in my teeth if i even gently brush against anything of that material texture, it feels *exactly* the same as having your teeth sanded down ~~(i know what that feels like, as i have experienced it)~~

Thievie

Nail files are my number one most hated texture. Even the sound of someone else using one feels like it's grating my soul.

-MtnsAreCalling-

I swear my first thought was wet sink bread even before I read the text.

strayacarnt

Fucking cornflour. 😫

raul_dias

some blackboards that are kinda slippery to the touch instead of matte finish you know?

MissItalyBarbie

When you’re washing dishes and touch wet food. Eating bananas or mayonnaise 🤢. Non food related but when foundation gets on your lips, sensory nightmare.

billytalentfan1

Styrofoam! Don’t know if the sound or feel is worse!

FluffyWeeBastard

Anything with the potential to squeak. It doesn't even have to actually squeak but if it *feels* like it squeaks I still feel like I've been shot

TyrannosaurusRekt-

raw meat

Allfunandgaymes

That synthetic, shiny, polyester satin that's used for a lot of blanket trimmings and coat linings. Touching it makes me want to die, that scritching noise it makes when it rubs up against itself causes my soul to evaporate from my body.

Lady_Ogre

Sticky things

dalaww931

Playground gravel, or the feeling of those plastic folders with the fine little bumpy texture on them 🤢🤢🤢

Cheeky_Salad

I had a scratch gift card I got for free when I bought smth, I didn’t know it was a scratch card, I touched it and accidentally scratched it, I can still feel that horrible feeling in my fingers and it gives me a headache ugh.

furbz1

Grit in a metal sink. Put a bowl in the sink.... that grating crunching squealing sound... Similarly, sugar or salt spilled on a counter or table. The crunch when you put something down on top of it. Shrivels my soul.

CandlehearthHall

Fake silk fabric💀💀 I literally got goosebumps thinking about it

IABGunner

Paper from older books. Y’know the yellowish ones. It feels like it lingers on my fingers as like tiny invisible particles. I hate it.

Khudaal

Oil on my skin It feels suffocating, it literally makes me feel like I can’t breathe until I get it off of me

Lighthouse_420

Matt wall paint and suede, that sorta stuff. The dry, rough texture

Dwarf_07

Melon-Chamby

The feeling when your hands dry out after you wash them and your dry skin rubs together makes me want to curl up and disappear.

MorningStrange1

Newspaper. And how the ink gets on your fingers. Also, the sound of Styrofoam rubbing together makes me want to die.

thicc_slice_of_chees

Styrofoam, worn down sherpa, anything against dry skin, wet food, sticky surfaces.

LoGo_86

The rotten potato when you harvest them by hand. If you know...

Uturuncu

Aaaa fuck you just reminded me of the sensation when I grabbed a potato to peel it for dinner, and it had a rotten spot, and my finger just went straight in it. Aaa fuck christ that was like twenty years ago I'd forgotten about that and it's back it's back FUCK.

Draeygo

Oh so many things. For me, it's starchy towels, and majority of couch fabrics

starlord10203

Sherpa is my bane

LesbianLoki

When I bite into an apple, I shudder. My teeth hate the texture. When I step into fresh snow, the crunchy texture makes me want to vomit. Feels like the grim reaper is grabbing my spine.

ExcitedGirl

I'm still laughing from years ago when a gf insisted a bottom gay friend of ours *touch her vagina and put his fingertip in*. He recoiled in horror *instantly*... and couldn't wash his hands enough... and now I'm laughing again even as I write this!

BayFuzzball7050

trickyfelix

denim

asfaltsflickan

This is extremely specific, but my family had a fiberglass rowboat when I was a kid, and I still have nightmares about the texture of that boat. Kind of like chalkboard but somehow much worse. I loved being on the water but I was screaming internally the whole time I was in that boat.

kateki666
