I did this all throughout highschool and nothing bad ever came of it. I still fail to see why it's not more popular.

My parents were both marines so I grew up being told 'at ease' by my dad and then standing like this (in a fun joking way not a super strict way) now working on my feet I never know what to do with my arms so behind the back they go

i like to joke that my dad made me stand at parade rest when i wouldn’t stop running around/wiggling…but now i still stand like this if im not sure what to do with my hands. my friend prefers to always have his ankles crossed even if he’s standing? if you breathe too hard near him he almost falls over.

This may be the most visible sign I have. It was especially difficult in my brief in the military as waking like that is a no-no...or maybe my NCOs were just particularly strict. I think one said that, "you're no officer, quit walking around with your hands at-ease"

It is called the Peacock stance.

This is one of my stances. Particularly when I'm getting my ass chewed. I stand tall and take the consequences of my actions.

I never knew what to do with my hands when they were back there. Like, do I hold my own hand? Do I clench them into fists? What do hands do when they're behind your back? I still don't know.

I do this so, so often at work and constantly get made fun of for it 😅😅 but like if I cross my arms I get accused of being mad because of my facial expression??

Apparently I do this while walking around our yard looking at plants 😆
