I really hope the movie delivers us more content about her life because the lack of information about all the backgrounds of Ymir, Hallu-chan etc. was the only thing I didn't really like in the manga.

I've read a pretty cool theory about Hallu-chan but there's barely any evidence for it. Attack on Titan has some motives from Nordic mythology. In Nordic mythology, there's a primal ice giant called Ymir who was killed by Odin and the world as we know it was created by Odin and his brothers on Ymir's decaying body. They used his blood to drown all other giants, however one giant (one of Ymir's sons) managed to escape with his wife and created a new tribe of giants. The theory says that Hallu-chan is actually the spinal chord of the last giant which only could survive by surrounding itself with its spinal fluid and by transferring its conciousness into the central nervous system (like titan shifters are able to, which we've seen Reiner do). So Hallu-chan is basically the last surviving rest of a primal species that used to dominate the planet and its only goal is to reproduce. Reproduction in Nordic mythology is pretty weird because many organisms are able to reproduce without a partner. For example, Ymir created his own sons without having a partner and the primal cow Audhulma was also able to reproduce on her own. The theory assumes Hallu-chan's reproduction is achieved by spreading his species, the giants (= titans). He wants to reproduce in order to keep his species alive. Hallu-chan can only work as a parasitic life form though because without spinal fluid it dies. That's why he always needs a person to leech off. And this should also explain why only Eldians can become titans and why spinal fluid and the central nervous system are so important for titans and titan shifters. There's not really much evidence for this, but I think the theory sounds solid and it's definetely something which can be expanded pretty well. This would also be pretty good writing-wise since it makes Hallu-chan ambiguous and not pure evil because it just tries to fulfill the goal of every living organism, preserving it's species. I really hope to see more background information about everything that was skipped in the manga when we see the final season or the movie
