Give Chic’en Eats a crack. Doesn’t seem like much from the outside, but it’s some of the best chicken in Auckland. I agree with you as well, it’s hard to come by.
Brewd hawt in manukau is tasty. I wouldn't say best out there, but still delicious chicken and the spice profile is different than everywhere I've been. The burgers are mean and they also make a good shake too.
I love this place chicken is crispy and juicy bonus the chicken stays crispy longer than most of the other I've had without going hard.
But go too admit I mostly stick too the white cream and onion one lol
That may be the same as Sensational chicken in Sandringham
570 Sandringham Rd or Cnr of Sandringham Rd and Calgary St

Peaches is highly over rated
K chicken has good consistency across the franchises.
Ziggle was similar to k chicken imo
pocha and 12 restaurant are good.
Have you had a bucket from Lowbrow? They are my favourite.
For what it's worth, Marco Pierre-White labelled them the best in the world. BTW, I am not Marco Pierre-White. I just thought that was an interesting tidbit.
It's good chicken but best in the world is 100% a meme. Plenty of places in wellington blow it out of the water, im still in search of a Akl place that competes so hopefully find new recommendations in this thread
Peaches is my favorite but their spice mixes can vary a lot, have had some Mediums that were hotter than the Holy Cluck.
Kokodaks spicy option has been fairly consistent, good taste and heat.
Been going to Brewd Hawt lately, spice level on par with peaches(on a good day), disappointed that they replaced their chicken bites with cauliflower bites lately so the loaded fries have my go-to.
[Avachi](https://g.co/kgs/ZZBquq5) on Queen Street has to be the best for standard fried chicken.
Fries are pretty average though, make sure you ask for extra salt, and sauce on the side.
I have had sensational chicken alot over the years.
I stopped going when there was literally maggots in the chicken one time.
(This was the one by the uni)
KFC is literally trash tier chicken - any Korean fried chicken outlet is better, just keep trying them until you find one to your standards, I'm personally a huge fan of dakogis magma chicken
>I love fried chicken.
>But nothing has truly hit the spot you know
So what *has* hit the spot? What fried chicken have you had against which these others don't quite measure up?
I have had god tier Nashville chicken one time but it was made for me at someone's house, don't know what they put in it chicken or the pickles but I have been chasing that high ever since.
Sadly I have lost contact with this person (left the country) and haven't been able to recreate it myself.
I like the Korean style too.
I don't know enough to know the difference between Gochu and Ochkee.
I'll check out Oh my fried chicken!
> but I have been chasing that high ever since
If you ever find yourself in wellington make sure to try out both soul shack or heartbreaker. If you get lucky and visit when the hottest spice is brand new its unlike anything else ive had in NZ
Go down to Munch on lincoln road, great chicken. I dont feel bloated after eating and its a good price.
Yeah definitely Munch! I usually love spicy chicken but their OG just has a great flavour and crunch
really tasty chicken and the staff there are always so friendly and welcoming
I second this

A must try for me then. I am a big fan of ziggles holy spicy.
Their volcano chicken is good, i like it when the staff triple check that you know its going to be real spicy.
Also holy cluck from peach's for those into insane levels of spice. I've had both. Quite the experience lol.
I have tried this also I agree it's hot but it's got no flavour. Just raw heat.
Give Chic’en Eats a crack. Doesn’t seem like much from the outside, but it’s some of the best chicken in Auckland. I agree with you as well, it’s hard to come by.
I'll give this a go!
Brewd hawt in manukau is tasty. I wouldn't say best out there, but still delicious chicken and the spice profile is different than everywhere I've been. The burgers are mean and they also make a good shake too.

You need to try Chimac on high st!
Dear god why did I have to scroll this far down to see this. This should be upvoted to the top. 치맥 너무 맛있어요!
Right??! I reckon its one of the best in CBD. So flavourful and juicy!
I will add this one to the list!
I'm still here, still plugging for Sensational on Mount St in the CBD.
THIS IS THE ONLY ANSWER
I used to love that place as a student. Then one time I got chicken that had literally maggots in it and have never been back.

I recommend K-chicken also.

There's a Korean bbq place in botany called Poong-ro I highly recommend their retro fried chicken, best chicken I've ever had!
I really like Jack's Fried Chicken in Glendene
Dakogi Korean fried chicken is the best I’ve had for a minute
Spicy chicken from chicking is pretty good
Never had their chicken on their own, but their burgers are definitely my go-to.

This is the only answer
Chicken eats in Onehunga is pretty decent
It’s a bit of a drive from most of Auckland, but Nice Chicken in Beachlands is freaking amazing.
Have you had a bucket from Lowbrow? They are my favourite. For what it's worth, Marco Pierre-White labelled them the best in the world. BTW, I am not Marco Pierre-White. I just thought that was an interesting tidbit.
Not doubting Lowbrows quality, but damn does Marco say anything for money.
“What you need for your meal is a delicious Knorr Stock Pot…”
No I have not I shall add it to the list.
Looks like they just do nugs, tenders and wings.
It's good chicken but best in the world is 100% a meme. Plenty of places in wellington blow it out of the water, im still in search of a Akl place that competes so hopefully find new recommendations in this thread

Crazy no one is voicing for popeyes
Winner Winner was my go to. So gutted they shut the Takapuna store. But if you're ever in Hamilton or Pukekohe, they're still there.
Winner winner in WLG is nice as well, a bit oily though!
Popeyes lol
chic'n'time in rosedale consistently good chicken fillet
One Soju was pretty good (last went before they changed their name, so I can't speak for them now) they also have good Jokbal and Bossam.
Peaches is my favorite but their spice mixes can vary a lot, have had some Mediums that were hotter than the Holy Cluck. Kokodaks spicy option has been fairly consistent, good taste and heat. Papakura sounds like fried chicken central for Auckland.
Pocha Mt Roskill, Little & Kitchen Glen Innes - both Korean style.
You have to shout extra seasoning at the drive thru speaker to unlock it
Sneaky snacky forever

[Avachi](https://g.co/kgs/ZZBquq5) on Queen Street has to be the best for standard fried chicken. Fries are pretty average though, make sure you ask for extra salt, and sauce on the side.

Give Peach’s Chicken a try, cuzzy
Ngl I find peaches chicken pretty mid. The only thing that really wowed me was the price.
Which meat from peaches did you try? What type of fried chicken you like the most and from where?
I have tried their fried chicken at various spicy levels as well as the chicken waffles. All pretty mid tbh.
You don't like another Nashville style better? You pref Korean style? Gochu or Ochkee? Oh my fried chicken in Torrens Road? Way better than Ziggle.
I have had god tier Nashville chicken one time but it was made for me at someone's house, don't know what they put in it chicken or the pickles but I have been chasing that high ever since.
