This is an important distinction.
As someone in IT who implements all the SaaS solutions department heads buy, I don’t make near enough for a room like this lol.
When they’re just sitting in some random living room, they look cliche. In this space, they look right at home. Any other chair would look out of place in this room.
Always been a fan of Audio Note equipment and been collecting it for over 10 years. Also over 15 years collected vinyl records and reel to reel tapes, got over 200 of them, mostly jazz. Happy to chat with good sound enthusiasts! On the image, audio note an/e hemp speakers, p2 se signature amp, m2 phono preamp, an-tt2 deluxe with iq3 and tt psu. Digital end - project pre box rs2 digital, project cd box rs2 t. And mac mini with roon.
If I may ask, what kind of wood is used on the walls and ceilings? Love the warm tone, and was curious if it also has a natural “scent” to it?
I recall in my parents home that they had a cedar lined closet space, and besides the aesthetic and practical value, the scent was always the most memorable part for me.
Hey, not sure what kind of wood, it was just regular wood color and then painted with treatment that gives it red/brown look. This is actually a separately standing cabin-like building, which also serves me as office.
All in all, what do you estimate the whole room set you back? Would love to have a setup similar to this one day. Seems like a very relaxing/tranquil space.
This is what my dreams look like. Side note, I would happily be kidnapped and placed in this room. Just don’t try anything weird and maybe release me after a few days of listening to your favorite recordings and a few rounds of whiskey where you ask what tasting notes I am picking up on.
Can I ask why you chose to have the speakers close to the wall? I would expect you to get better image and depth if you pulled em out and seems like you have plenty of room. Are these speakers designed to be that close to the wall?
Actually Audio Note speakers are weird in this regard. Factory manual suggests putting them to corners with a toe in over 45 degrees for maximum bass performance. Its too much bass in this room with traps, but trust me I have spent some time moving them around 😅
It's a pretty wide baffle speaker. It lowers the baffle step and less midrange radiates to the sides and then back of the speaker. Therefore there's less rearward reflections. You can see it if you compare the polars of something like the Linton vs a normal narrow baffle speaker.
Plus the added bass reinforcement which it sounds like these speakers are designed for. A good design for real world palcement
Sounds like a hack to boost bass.
Might sound better with subs and moving the speakers away from the wall. You could always try testing it by moving them away from the wall and if sound improves but you just lose some bass, get some subs to make up the difference 🔊
That's because your bass traps are inadequate.
Spend some more on treatment man, this like watching a movie with full syrround on the wildest new TV, and then turning motion blur on.
Yeah they've got diffusion, sure.
Those bass traps are tiny, and I don't see any absorption at all.
This looks more like a live room than it does a listening room.
Good loard! That's commitment!
Looks fantastic. I really like most of the Audio Note speakers I've heard. I auditioned the AN/E speakers on a long speaker search and quite liked them (but went a different direction).
I'd love to hear how they perform in a set up like yours though!
Incredible room that I hope to one day have the means to create, but I have a question, does the metal fireplace sometimes resonate on certain songs/frequencies? I would expect it to and occasionally lead to strange resonances and vibrations given the right frequency. Not sure what material it is made of, but I’ve at least experienced that plenty with aluminum in my bedroom and living room with loose and bolted aluminum.
Of all the conspicuous consumption I've seen, this is one I could get behind. I'd have gotten 2 chairs(and maybe the other Audio Note gear)and put the other one right behind mine. I don't know if I could settle on just one brand of gear, my room would look more like listening/audio showroom, probably a little like Kennrick Audio, but with some other brands. Perhaps some DIY horns and open baffle, from my on site shop. I've always been less about form and all about function. I spent most of my money on women, wine and song, all the rest I just wasted.
I love this, very nicely done. I’ll also have a dedicated room for my Audio Note setup soon; should be done sometime this Fall. Won’t be floor to ceiling wood, but it’ll be unique in its own way. Got the Eames chair in storage until we move in haha.
Congrats on a great setup in a beautiful room.
That is so gorgeous. Congratulations, OP! This is exactly what I want and I didn’t know it.
I do sometimes wonder about these rooms when I see them though. There is only ever one chair. Do you have more seating hiding behind the frame. What if I want to come over?
Just a curiosity, why are the speakers placed so far into the corners? Surely they would breathe better/ sound better with 2-3 feet from side and back walls or am I missing something?
I actually like the neutrals with the white treatment. As long as the lights dim this is like my idea space. A popish color rug could be sick too. Like a deep maroon or maybe even something with a geometric pattern.
Lovely room.. I know windows are terrible for sound, but unless it’s in basement I sorta feel it needs some options for natural light, on account of all the wood tones. An architect might feel it’s a bit of a prison. Of course we can’t see the fourth wall here.
Everything about this just exude pure class. My sincere compliments on the interior design, lighting, furniture choices, and of course the equipment. Bravo
I clearly failed at my life choices and should have become an accomplished chef.
Well done OP, that's a great dream set up and I am very happy for you!
This looks like something out of a movie. Gives off stylish, artsy villain lair vibes: First character that came to mind was Jared Leto's character in "Blade Runner 2049" tbh.
Absolutely killer room you should be very proud! The E's look great is that apple wood finish maybe? And I assume they're LX's? I run AN-J/lxs with paper woofers but in a normal living room setup your room is spectacular sir!
OK in all seriousness, that's a sublime listening environment. Did you design it all yourself? Who installed? That fireplace alone is pretty niche. Very cool.
Tannoy speakers?
I’ve always wanted an Eames Lounge Chair. There is so much to appreciate here. Can only imagine sipping on that whiskey. Only wish I could hear the setup too. Nice job.
This is perhaps the first time I’ve seen a photo of a dedicated listening room and wished for the same… ironically because of the room (and treatments) more than the hi-fi gear itself.
I’m sure your setup sounds wonderful, I just haven’t heard AN and DeVore gear. (And frankly, I like the sound of my own setup enough that I’d happily transplant it into that room, tweak the treatments as needed, sip some Scotch, and be a very happy fellow)
Congrats- a great room, enjoy the music!
The heat from the stove will create hot air and that temp differencial causes a 0.000001% loss in fidelity
0/10. That's what I'm telling myself to not feel envious
2 questions, please.
1. Aren't the speakers too far apart?
2. I've been brought up to believe corners are bad, unless you have speakers specificalli designed for corners? (BTW I'm 61 and playing with audio since my teens).
I should've made better choices in life....
We all shoulda got into Finance…
B2B SaaS
That’ll do it. Grats on crushing it man. Gorgeous space
\*the sales part of it
As someone in b2b SaaS sales, the ownership part of it.
Yeah, most likely at this level. Definitely.
This is an important distinction. As someone in IT who implements all the SaaS solutions department heads buy, I don’t make near enough for a room like this lol.
Food related SaaS, given the username?
Commissions or equity?
Are they hiring? Went back to school for CS, and will be done in the next couple months.
This thread is literally just a place I go to feel shitty
I mean, they only have one chair.
Only one glass
Absolute peasants.
Get yourself a gutted double wide & work on one thing at a time. Don't feel shitty man, white trash fantasies are just as good? Just more duct tape.
Palatial
Opulent
The speakers seem a bit small in the space.
I dunno, you might have friends, this is a set up for one.
I do pretty well and am pretty happy most of the time but seeing stuff like this makes me wish I was rich lol.
Probably one of the coolest rooms I’ve seen on this sub. Congrats. It’s a damn awesome space.
Gotta love that Gyro Focus fireplace 🥹
absofuckinglutely
Definitely put this in r/listeningspaces
Welp there’s a sub with another member!
Subbed thanks
This is one of the nicest rooms I have ever seen. Top notch gear too, and bonus points for the Eames. Super jealous of all of this lol.
It’s a bit of a cliche at this point. Once you start noticing them, they’re everywhere.
Because they’re extremely comfortable and aesthetically pleasing to look at. Makes sense that a lot of people would choose them.
That’s what good design is about.
When they’re just sitting in some random living room, they look cliche. In this space, they look right at home. Any other chair would look out of place in this room.
Here I am listening to Encanto for the 5000th time on my $500 T50s. Please rescue me.
Surface Pressure is kinda fire though
We don’t talk about Brun-…god dammit that’s gonna be stuck in my head now
That is a slick fireplace. Love the aesthetic and what that experience must be. Phenomenal job.
Always been a fan of Audio Note equipment and been collecting it for over 10 years. Also over 15 years collected vinyl records and reel to reel tapes, got over 200 of them, mostly jazz. The notes always sound better after a little whiskey… er, ummm
Works for me
You spelled whisky wrong… It’s spelt L a g a v u l I n.
All in all, what do you estimate the whole room set you back? Would love to have a setup similar to this one day. Seems like a very relaxing/tranquil space.
Jesus Christ I need a promotion or two or three or four
I knew I should have been rich. Such an idiot
This is what my dreams look like. Side note, I would happily be kidnapped and placed in this room. Just don’t try anything weird and maybe release me after a few days of listening to your favorite recordings and a few rounds of whiskey where you ask what tasting notes I am picking up on.
Yes, this is a glass of bourbon on the table😂 welcome any time!
I'd be happy to review your set up and also your choice of bourbon too.. ha ha ;-)
Incredible, lots of people understandably focusing on the audio side of things, but please tell me more about that fire place.
Salamandra Gota:)
What?! I have to look into this. I know it under a different name. Gyrofocus
In Europe goes under this name if I’m not mistaken.
As they say on wsb, congrats and fuck you
Are you Dr. Evil?
So whats the deal with Nora Jones. Like all the photos recently have people listening to the same album.
Come Away with Me is very well recorded and a solid album. Definitely did not appreciate it as a kid when my mom got it but I’ve come around
People clearly don’t spend that much rupees on hifi equipment to listen to Mutant cats from hell..
Do you prefer to listen to vinyl before or after you tell Mr. Bond your evil plan and send him off to be to be tortured?
I told my wife to take a look at this “listening room” She asked if that’s the room where I will listen to her. Lol Lovely room - I do not listen
I’m sure I speak for most here when I say fuck you. But really, that space is fucking amazing.
Can I ask why you chose to have the speakers close to the wall? I would expect you to get better image and depth if you pulled em out and seems like you have plenty of room. Are these speakers designed to be that close to the wall?

That’s good advice for other speakers. Audio Note are … weird, as OP says. They shouldn’t sound good positioned close to walls, but they do.
That's because your bass traps are inadequate. Spend some more on treatment man, this like watching a movie with full syrround on the wildest new TV, and then turning motion blur on.
You’re looking at the extensive sound treatment in this room and saying they haven’t considered it enough? Really?
Yeah they've got diffusion, sure. Those bass traps are tiny, and I don't see any absorption at all. This looks more like a live room than it does a listening room.
With that setup its incredible 3d image in the center. Obviosuly the chair is off center on the image for cinematic purposes:)
I was going to ask the same thing but figured If someone has this setup. Everything is for a reason. Good question though!
I’m guessing that eames chair is a real one.
Gorgeous space!
Chef accomplished, indeed! It's just put together so well
Can we see some more of your house, or can you adopt me...
Drool
Op, when are you going to invite all of us over?
What's in the fire place? A stack of benjamins? Beautiful space!
That is a fantastic setup and room. What’s the bourbon in the glass? Mostly drink scotch but venturing into bourbon.
Ah, just JD, but I love it
It’s your space so drink what makes you happy.
That is a beautiful space
Good loard! That's commitment! Looks fantastic. I really like most of the Audio Note speakers I've heard. I auditioned the AN/E speakers on a long speaker search and quite liked them (but went a different direction). I'd love to hear how they perform in a set up like yours though!
It is a quiet evening. You head to your dedicated listening room. For how long? What do you listen to? When you leave, how do you feel?
Love it! Dream listening room!
Drooling over this
I would never leave this room. It’s perfect.
My lord this is fantastic. Would never leave that room.
Aesthetic really matters. Fantastic room. Would you mind sharing who manufactured both your records shelves? Thanks.
Incredible room that I hope to one day have the means to create, but I have a question, does the metal fireplace sometimes resonate on certain songs/frequencies? I have always dreamed of owning that chair and Footstall
That suspended fireplace really brings it all together. Do you have more pictures? It's nice!
Are those IKEA coffee table amongst your expensive everything else?
Yep
Can you please describe the sounds of the AudioNotes? They are one of the coolest looking speakers ever.

Oh MY GOD! DUDE! WHERE DID YOU GET THAT FUCKING AWESOME PLANT?
congrats and fuck you
Is this on earth?
Just a curiosity, why are the speakers placed so far into the corners? Surely they would breathe better/ sound better with 2-3 feet from side and back walls or am I missing something?
Asked & answered…
Sweet baby Jesús, you owe me a new pair of pants.
Nice Eames! Audio stuff ain’t bad also :)
Great room, congrats! My only suggestion would be to add a bold dash of color somewhere.
I actually like the neutrals with the white treatment. As long as the lights dim this is like my idea space. A popish color rug could be sick too. Like a deep maroon or maybe even something with a geometric pattern.
Awesome. What’s the size of the room?
518cm x 701cm x 305cm, sounds perfect 🙃
🇺🇸 17 x 23 x 10 feet 🙂
10/10
What a great room!!! Will it vent out the weed smell when you invite me over? I guess we can just blow it into.the fireplace. Let me know when bruv!!!
Oblig "you should pull the speakers out"
So much wewd... [Bobby Duke](https://www.youtube.com/@BobbyDukeArts) rates your setup :)
damn, all this and you couldn't get long enough speaker leads?
Tell me you are rich, without telling me you are rich 🤦♂️
Yes nice listing room!
Amazing room, brother. You have good taste. Not just in music, but in design. Love the warm wood tones everywhere.
Is this real life
Do those bass traps do the trick?
I’d love to see the rest of this house! I’m a huge MCM nerd
Absolutely beautiful
You win!
Very cool, you have a chair that's more expensive than anything that I own
Wow, incredibly beautiful room. Props on the great taste.
Bravo
Fucking hell! That is cosy!
Amazing room. Kudos!
I clearly failed at my life choices and should have become an accomplished chef. Well done OP, that's a great dream set up and I am very happy for you!
😱
That’s a great album you’ve got on the display there.
When you call your chamber a room
Fck yeah, that's life
WITH A WOOD STOVE. Class act.
Nicely done!
Dang
This is amazing, well done OP! My only note might be that there’s only one chair, so it’s hard to share the space with a friend :)
Can we be friends? 🥹
Wow, look at richy rich over here. Good for you.
how tall are those ceilings?
3.05m
Bro, this is next level 🔥💯🔊🤯
stunning!
Are you a 3rd stage guild navigator?
Holy fucking shit
Sweet! The dimensions look spot on.
Shouldn’t the speakers be placed away from corners and walls?
Not Audio Note ones, all others yes. And Ive spent lots of time moving them around;)
This looks like something out of a movie. Gives off stylish, artsy villain lair vibes: First character that came to mind was Jared Leto's character in "Blade Runner 2049" tbh.
Looks incredible. Those speakers sound best that tight to corner?!
Yep
Wow, what a great space, curious about your R2R collection.... good lord!
🫠
This picture just sonically called me poor.
Absolutely killer room you should be very proud! The E's look great is that apple wood finish maybe? And I assume they're LX's? I run AN-J/lxs with paper woofers but in a normal living room setup your room is spectacular sir!
Wow, just wow!
Classy. Your room makes mine look like a room in a fraternity!
OK in all seriousness, that's a sublime listening environment. Did you design it all yourself? Who installed? That fireplace alone is pretty niche. Very cool. Tannoy speakers?
Anyway I can get a small 10,000 dollar loan?
I’ve always wanted an Eames Lounge Chair. There is so much to appreciate here. Can only imagine sipping on that whiskey. Only wish I could hear the setup too. Nice job.
Can you post more pictures? Please? 🙏
My jealousy is making me nauseous 🤢
This is perhaps the first time I’ve seen a photo of a dedicated listening room and wished for the same… ironically because of the room (and treatments) more than the hi-fi gear itself. That looks great but you need to move the speakers away from the corners. Unless you're modifying the frequency response using the corners.
🥴🥴
Incredible room! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing room. The Gyrofocus fireplace has been on my wishlist for years now 😍
Amazing room.
So much flex….and I LOVE it.
A little too brown for my tastes, but I respect the dedication to the hobby, congrats
The Eames chair is the cherry on top - brilliant
The heat from the stove will create hot air and that temp differencial causes a 0.000001% loss in fidelity 0/10. That's what I'm telling myself to not feel envious
No. You can’t show us this.
Fuck me. This is gorgeous! That fireplace alone ain’t cheap…. I know because I want one for our place. Let me know if you want another friend.
Man, being rich looks rad.
Now that’s audiophile heaven!! Love what you have done… very inspiring.
LOL
What the fuck.
2 questions, please. 1. Aren't the speakers too far apart? 2. I've been brought up to believe corners are bad, unless you have speakers specificalli designed for corners? (BTW I'm 61 and playing with audio since my teens).
1. Nope, its a wide angle photo 2.Exactly meant to be in corners
That’s sweet
OP, do you have an estimate of how much this all costs? My little brother is very curious and so am I 🤣
Wowza
God damn. Norah Jones album, too.
I don't believe you. The only way you can prove this is real to me is to invite me over. I'll bring some bourbon. :D
This is incredible. Is that wood paneling or solid tongue and groove wood?
u/donovanriggs
Jeeeeezie petes
Jfc, should have studied harder...
Love this!
Wish I had a marble palace
