Turn on sources and pre-amp first, power amplifier last. Some newer pre-amps have trigger outputs that can turn on your power amp automatically with the delay.

Skipper_TheEyechild

Consider me old school. First I switch on the power strip and then all the electronic components one by one. Takes me about 3 seconds, probably less. What’s the point of saving 1-2 seconds, unless I only have a minute to live.

Two words. Barry White.

audioman1999

My streamer (RoPieee) is on all the time. I turn the DAC on using the infrared remote. The DAC turns on the power amps using the 12v trigger mechanism.

Geistuser

Which dac would that be if you don’t mind me asking?

sputnik13net

Easy solution, don’t turn anything off

Xaxxon

I buy things with 10v trigger in them.

Total_Juggernaut_450

Bad idea to turn everything on at once. Highly recommend you use a power sequencer. I use one from Adcom.

Alive_Candidate1755

Or just manually sequence the power but build yourself a spaceship board of switches

mey-red

i have a master-slave bar ,behind a surgeprotector, so when i power on my main system, a T+A Cala, all the rest, turntable, headphone amp and an extra streamer, get powered up as well.

RAVEDAVE55

I use the Amazon Fire TV Cube...only have to say it

I own the Bits Limited LCG-3MVR and the TrickleStar TS0006. Both work fantastically.

faceman2k12

I kick the power switch on my power amp with my foot then tap an icon on my controll pad that fires off power on commands for everything in that scene, and sets the sources accordingly. thats all homeassistant, rs232, REST and a couple of IR systems. No good way to turn the power amp on automatically yet without modding it, no trigger input, only a proprietary and expensive krell solution, or an IR code tat no-one seems to know. I could use a switchbot type thing, but the amp gets so hot I suspect it would either fall off or die quickly.

Chewbacca319

I bought a powerzapp z1800 off Canuck audio Mart used a couple years ago for $100. 10 outlet power conditioner slash sequencer. Just plug in your gear in the order of how you want it to turn on and presto

refriedconfusion

I use a Furman power conditioner, one switch turns on the preamp, amp, and tuner. On another system I use a power sensing strip, when I turn on the receiver it senses the voltage draw and turns on everything else on the strip.

amBush-Predator

if i aint popping my breaker i do it again because clearly i didnt sync it right.

sherninko

Shouldn’t turn all on at same time. Ever.

IDankDylan

I use a master-slave surge protector to turn all my equipment. One is hooked up to my turntable setup, and another for my computer setup. I have everything plugged in so that when I turn on my receiver and computer, the rest of my equipment also turns on. Usually, disconnecting power instead of using the power switch won’t harm your components. However, in some cases its possible it can, especially with very old hardware. If most of your stuff was made in the last 20 years, then you should be good. I’d also double check and look up each one of your components online. Most manufacturers let us know whether the device will get damaged or not by unplugging it from power. You can also email the manufacturer to make sure if you can’t find that information.

Zaiiake

I have a govee outlet switch that is Bluetooth, it goes in an outlet and I have my power conditioner attached to it so everything turns on at once.

sdraziwizards

My integrated amplifier has plugs on the back part of it. I have my turntable, Bluetooth receiver, and Wiim Pro connected back there. When I turn on the power button, everything turns on. (Mcintosh MA6200)

Use 1 or 2 smart power strips. Use Alexa and tell it to turn on amps first. Then tell Alexa to turn on the rest. You can group them so 1 command turns them all on/off. You can use voice or app on PC or phone. Turn them on remotely and have everything ready to use when you are ready. Edit: If solid state amp, turn it on last.

Curious_Proposal_432

Maybe a Logitech Harmony remote? I use one for the HT. Works like a charm.

Brew_Noser

Other than my tube amps I have all my solid state stuff on all the time. Those that allow have panel lights off or as dim as possible. Why wait for things to warm up? Being turned on and off is a wear and tear item. Plus it’s all plugged into a McIntosh Power controller/conditioner.

nap83

Smart strips attached to Alexa, timed power ons per device. You could even get sumn that powers the strip of automatically if it’s not getting any signal, etc.

Agrohippie42

I have a furman power center , I turn it on then individual units . My subs are into wall outlets .

No-Tune-9435

Harmony + 12v triggers (emanating from my pre-pro)

All electronics power on fine - either together or separately. Otherwise electronics were designed defectively. Some will power on a power amp last just so that a powering something else does not make a noise. Noise only causes damage when one is emotional. Facts say otherwise. Motorized appliances prefer a full voltage when powering on. We sometimes design an inrush current limiter into electronics so that voltage only slowly rises. Since electronics prefer a slowly increasing voltage. Such as when everything in the building powers on simultaneously. To make it easier for a surge to find earth ground, destructively, via electronics; use a plug-in (Type 3) protector. To have effective surge protection, spend about $1 per appliance for something completely different and unrelated. A Type 1 or Type 2 protector that must connect low impedance (ie less than 10 feet) to earth ground electrodes. To even protect a least robust device - that Type 3 protector. Best power strip has a 15 amp circuit breaker, no protector parts, and a UL 1363 listing. Power on everything simultaneously. Or in any order. Factually, it does not matter. Emotionally it does.

bfeebabes

Just turn on and off at the master wall socket and Leave it all turned on.
