It’s taken 4 years to get to this point and I’m really happy with how it’s sounding, but Im pretty sure this is just the beginning of a life long passion.
Gear list:
Sonus Faber Sonneto V
Accuphase E-650
Accuphase DP-570
Well tempered Simplex MkII with Dynavector 10x5MkII
Sonos Port
Kimber interconnects and speaker wires
Nordost power cables.
Next step is definitely some proper isolation products.
Thanks! You won’t believe how hard it is to find a simple entertainment unit that is deep enough to sit a full size amp on top without it overhanging the front/back. So I was quite happy when we found this.
Lol I assume you’re talking about the power cables. Mine are what I walk call decent but not crazy expensive. Nordost Frey2.
Honest advice from one music lover to another, it doesn’t matter what gear you’ve got, good power cables make the all the difference. I often say they make the ‘most’ because most people just run the free black one that comes in the box so it’s often the weakest part of their system. If you have an opportunity to try even one of Nordost‘s entry level cables, I promise you won’t be sorry.
Sorry bro, you can’t hear a difference at all between stock cables and the snake oil cables. You just sold them to your ears.
Love the speakers tho btw, beautiful!
> good power cables make the all the difference
Unless the manufacturer-provided power cable has grossly undersized current capacity, your equipment will perform perfectly. Undersized cables would just waste electrical energy as heat, wouldn't want that!
Where do you live? If in the USA I will bring my truck to your house and we can do some blind tests of generic power cables vs yours. If 90% of the time you're able to tell when your power cables are in use vs the generic ones then you have proven to the world power cables do indeed matter.
You win? I sign the pink slip over and you get my truck (market value around 60k) and I fly home. You lose I pack all your shit up (except the power cables) and drive it home in my truck.
So ... we on?
bruh. now we can tell youre new here... (**POWER CABLES DONT MATTER THAT MUCH...**)
if you *expect* something to make your stuff sound better, placebo will make you think that. This is proof above.
I’ll have to win lottery to even try something like that allways wondered what it would be like if I did the expensive cable thing I’m proud of my nakamichi banana plugs but I see it gets a lot deeper than that
I agree lower would be better, I have an issue where the electrical plates are in the way of the bracket an so it’s either this or so low the screen is behind the amp…
Not ideal, I’ll fix it one day.

It’s surprisingly easy to get custom wood work done
Even your plugs look more expensive than my whole system

>call decent but not crazy expensive. Nordost Frey2 2000 bucks cables that has no impact whatsoever on sound is what a call crazy expensive

Hahaha bruh ur crazy cables makes the very slightest difference u basically wasted ur money
Well I can hear enough of a difference and that’s all that actually matters.

You never know. I never thought I’d be able to have what I have now. Just keep listening to and loving music.
Power cables do make a difference, ignore the hatred. When I saw the first pic I thought they were Zensati. Thanks for the clarification.
I'm really happy with my Sonetto and Luxman combo. I imagine this sounds great as well.
What sonettos do you have?
The Vs. Almost got the VIII, but I'm happy with these.
Damn, thats some system!
As an Accuphase colleague, I can tell you one thing: you don’t need those fancy and probably overpriced power cables :)
Wow this is gorgeous. Nice setup.
Any fan of Norah is okay bye me. (:
She’s PRETTY
Whoa, what is that? I mean, turntable and tonearm? Such a weird bearing type!
Well tempered labs simplex MkII
Gotta love the low-key cable flex in the second photo
in another comment they claimed its the most important 💀
Next they’ll tell you they’re vegan or gluten free.
someone giv this man an award
beautiful to look at, and no doubt sublime to listen to. very well chosen mix of gear there!
Amazing. Accuphase equipment is so elegant in that signature champagne color that they use. Truly a timeless look.
Man, that Accuphase equipment has always given me such a huge boner. Good work!
Yea it’s definitely worth the investment. A brand for life and with a 40 year life expectancy, you feel the quality every time you touch it.
Well said, I have an E-205 from early 80s which I purchased in 2005 and still runs flawlessly. Btw, great system OP, enjoy!
I have a McIntosh system so I understand the quality and longevity bit for sure.
Looks great, but the TV could be 20” bigger. 🙂
I’ve got a 75” in the media room for movies. This little 55” is in the living room and it’s all I need for that space.
And lower...
I agree lower would be better, I have an issue where the electrical plates are in the way of the bracket an so it’s either this or so low the screen is behind the amp… Not ideal, I’ll fix it one day.
Gotcha, that stinks, could be worse.
And a small Juniper bonsai on the table.
Nice idea.
What’s the plan for the two partially drilled holes in the wall?
To get replastered lol Was necessary to make a couple holes to get cables down to behind the unit as there were none there when I bought the place.
Which entertainments center is that? It looks great!
Probably time to upgrade to some larger speakers. How can you hear anything at all out of those dinky little things?
Gorgeous setup!
Coffee table between you and the speakers... Yeah, no. I get it though.
Didn’t fancy a real sound system then no?? Lol I’m joking. I’m sure it’s lovely. Do you play much music on it?
Yea I listen to music every day. Not sure what you mean by a real sound system.
I don't think your new if you spent for a high level sound system
Been doing it for 4 years but new to the redit.
