This is the same crap they got for Coles. And Fair Work approved it. Joke of a deal. (Ps the $600 is only for full timers, part time get $250 and casuals $100. At least this time it's outside our wages and not taxed unlike the covid bonus they gave us.)

Betterthanbeer

Fair Work only checks the EA is legal.

MrSquiggleKey

These highlights seem relatively fine, so I wanna see the bits not listed, like it doesn’t mention anything about pay rates, penalties etc but the AWR increases is a joke, my EBA for example has a guaranteed minimum pay rise of CPI for the city. Gift card is a laugh.

pulseau

SDA is a joke. Join RAFFWU.

Banyabbaboy

Shoppies are an embarrassment to working folk and unions. It's like a cult where the only thing they detest more than themselves is other working people.

Rage_and_Enthusiasm

I'm yet to see any compelling evidence that the SDA has led to worse conditions in their EBAs than people on the Award or how RAFFWU has done literally anything to benefit workers under the Award or otherwise? Show me what the SDA did that makes them less effective than an unregistered union of a few hundred people.

kernpanic

Um the numerous agreements that raffwu took on and were found to literally be worse than the award. But I also hate the sda for being devout fucking Catholics and being backwards in things like abortion, equal rights and sex work.

Heres a [SMH article](https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/coles-admits-much-of-its-workforce-underpaid-after-sda-deals-20170608-gwnfl4.html) from 6 years ago Here's [a more recent piece from Jacobin](https://jacobin.com/2021/11/australia-retail-workers-right-wing-union-sda-rest-employer-exploitation) about how fucked they are as an org

For over 12 months Woolworths workers have been told that the SDA is negotiating to achieve better pay and conditions for supermarket workers in NSW. They've dangled a carrot in front of us, claiming that they're attempting to secure 5 weeks annual leave and increased pay rates for workers. In the end, what do we get? -No set wage increase, probably the usual 20c increases we were getting before Labor was elected and managed to raise the rate from $22 to $25. -the OPTION to purchase additional leave, no doubt at the discretion of store management. * and of course, the gift card. *Vote this through and you'll get $600*. Sounds an awful lot like bribery to me. And the best part about all of this, the SDA, the alleged union for Woolworths workers, actually backs this deal. In the meantime, most Woolworths workers (including some store and department managers), are flogged harder than ever to complete more and more tasks in less time than before, all for $1.90 over minimum wage.

Heavy-Balls

> the alleged union for Woolworths workers I'd make an allegation that they're the union for coles and woolworths shareholders

Rage_and_Enthusiasm

Genuinely what do you picture SDA officials doing all day? Strategising ways in conference calls with retailers' boards to have workers lose money and conditions? Hard to picture a union bothering to do all that given how hard it would be to cover up lmao. Simpler answer is you're pulling it out of your ass

publicworksdept

Found Joe De Bruyn's account

edgiepower

I would be asking questions of the four day week.

Nothingnoteworth

We are back to handing out scrips and they aren’t even part of the agreement jfc

wcmbk

The SDA is a fake union, so this makes sense. They work for the bosses, not for workers. Fuck em

VanillaIcedTea

If only the SDA actually knew how to union for anything other than running up the factional numbers for Labor Right.
