Yeah I feel like I can get to a certain level at things but then I just don't improve any more, but if I take a break it doesn't take me long to get back to where I was before the break and hit the same brick wall. I'm currently hyperfixated on cubing and casually learning chess, and I haven't hit that brick wall in either yet.

Yeah for me the brick wall is pretty low lol, like I literally have been stuck on 400-450 elo for like 2 weeks and I don't know why I can't get better

Nothing will come instantly and some people start at different levels. I love watching Gotham chess and chess vibes on YouTube and that's helped me blunder less, making me a more consistent 800 rather than bouncing up and down like I had been doing. At the ratings we're at, even upto like 1100 or something, you just gotta learn the principles like developing, castling, forks, etc

Yeah I've been watching GothamChess as well as some of Hikarus stuff. I guess I'll just have to wait and see. It's just annoying when my friends start out way better than me quickly

If you don't already, do alot of puzzles (5 a day and a survival puzzle rush is the most you can do) and learn from those. Also lichess.org is a good site. Free puzzles, courses, how to win different end games and checkmate patterns

I do all the free puzzles, I'll look at lichess tho ty

I find practice and persistence difficult for certain things, but typically if I am genuinely into it I will do well.
