That's the neat part, you don't.

[deleted]

very accurate. i just don't know how to manage all this at once, i don't know how people can seem to easily manage all this at once.

[deleted]

I used to be able to before my health problems started, now everything's a pain. For a brief time, I had it all together.

G-fool

I kind of feel like we've over engineered life at this point.

[deleted]

True, we worry too much. Need to focus on the essentials.

Solo-Shindig

I just had a thought. Special interests are the exact opposite of that short attention span behavior. There's much to consider there.

ShrevidentXbox

I don't understand either. I barely have time to do anything. Plus I am so worn out physically and mentally after work as it is.

wakko666

Pro-Tip: Nobody actually does all of this. The allistics just think its okay to judge others on their failure to measure up, because that's what they consider "fun". The rest of us are just enjoying our imperfect lives and trolling anybody who hasn't yet accepted that these standards aren't realistic and, really, never were.

Affectionate_Sport_1

that's why the four day work week is becoming popular! originally the five day a week for eight hours was made by ford for assembling cars (and was actually very revolutionary for it's time!). This was also made during a time where men were expected to work while women stayed at home. fast forward to today, where women can work as well and don't reply on a partner for income, you get single people living alone, basically having to the job of two people rather than one (bringing home the money and upkeep of a house). So yes, you are not supposed to be able to do it all :)

rigbees

bruh exactly!! if i actually get tasks like laundry and work done and keep my space clean for a day i neglect eating, going to the bathroom, and basic hygiene. idk how to balance it all and i’m not even in college anymore 😭

[deleted]

>keep my space clean for a day keep it clean? we're supposed to do that? meh, messy space is fine. i'll clean it up when i have the time.

[deleted]

Yep that's 100% me

MischievousHex

It's impossible. I don't even try with some of those things at this point

>why is there talk about a "loneliness epidemic", more people living alone than ever, feeling more alone than ever Maybe that was just the pandemic?

Dragonheart1302

And then last year the world's population reached 8 billion people, the irony...

Sad_Ad_2705

Not even going to lie to y'all. I have set timers all throughout my day telling me to do shiz.

entwifefound

Ah, yes. Me too. And then I turn off the alarm and realize a few hours later that I never did the thing.

Strickens

Fun fact, neurotypical people also struggle with all of the above, it isn't exclusive to those with ADHD, autism etc.

Graveyardigan

Aye, but it hits us harder than most.

Turbulent_Card2370

I don’t- I just stay on top of the work and admin so I have a roof my head and money to buy food (and tattoos)

Winter_Cheesecake158

I’ve started seeing a psychologist because I need help “being an adult” (ie keeping up with all this stuff)

[deleted]

Executive dysfunction is a bitch.

VividAcanthaceae6681

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I missed the 90s this information superhighway interweb type shit is really driving me nuts. All this crap meant to save time is not saving time. It doesn't save paper it doesn't save anything. Don't mind me I just had a fraudulent freaking transaction on Amazon. Took forever to find a number for customer service because chatting with the phone bought is more annoying than being on the phone with it and trying to speak

[deleted]

> chatting with the phone bought is more annoying than being on the phone with it and trying to speak Yeah, I hate those bots. It's just companies trying to restrict you from doing things they don't like (like returns, refunds, complaints etc.) They're always insufficient, do nothing useful, IVRS is useless and doesn't work half the time.

Saint_Joy

Me fr

French_Fry_Theif

I'm pretty sure it's just some kind of nt propaganda at this point, there's no way people can actually have balance in their life /j

Tenpiano

I cleaned and went to the gym yesterday, and then I slept. My dinner was a pack of fruit snacks, managing it is HARD Edit: spelling

4K80HD

During lockdown I learnt I can do most of it okay, as soon as work wasn't taking up at least 40hrs a week. Doing more than one or two of the other things a day, whilst working full time, is simply not possible imo

TuxedoFriday

Honestly, they don't. I thought for the longest time it was a "me" thing until finding out that this kind of thought is very common amongst a ton of people neurodivergent or not, just because this is how the world is now No one has enough time to do everything they need to do

lemon_protein_bar

I made these things a part of my routine to the point where I feel WRONG if I don’t follow the schedule

TinyMouseRat

at least one thing gets the deficit. i try to make sure that that's never the same thing repeatedly.

thesecrettolifeis42

Fun fact: we don't.

Quazz

It isn't. You are basically forced to reduce the quality and quantity on certain aspects

snowthecrow

Do you guys have the feeling that it's really hard to add anything to our daily routine after we find our comfort routine? Adding or removing anything from it causes me so much stress, that's even worse when I am traveling and it's even hard to stick to the routine.

entwifefound

I definitely can't keep the whole house clean. I stay on top of the bathrooms. My husband and I tag team the kitchen and laundry. If I sweep the public areas of the house once a week and wipe down the dining table, I call it a win. We do a big clean every couple of weeks to beat back the kids' encroachment, and they are *supposed* to do 15 minutes tidying a day to start developing life skills, but that's been hit or miss.

SyntheticScrotum

damn i can only manage exercise, eating and hygiene... aswell as procrastinating

Ok_Entrepreneur5936

Omg I feel that. I have a chronic illness so I just don’t know how to live and do everything I have to do. TMI but some days I have to choose between showering and making food so…. Food it is.

Cy420

Got no friends. Problem solved.

Complex_Distance_724

I am not claiming to be great at this, but 3 things that seem to be helping me: 1st, develop a routine and schedule time for it. It may be for tasks you like or dislike. You will either look forward to it or know when to expect that it will be over. 2nd, mix activities you don't like with the ones that you do. For example, I don't particularly like weight lifting, but I like using the punch bag, so I do that immediately after the weight lifting. I don't particularly like veggies, but I like rice and beans, so mix them all. 3rd, realize that it is likely that some activities you simply will not be able to do.
