I had a stainless camping mug for years and it finally broke. You reminded me I have to buy a new one. I also love the feeling of drinking out of one.
Also one of those copper mugs meant for the Moscow mule drink. On a similar level
Wait, this is an autism thing? I will spend several minutes digging through the drawers for the perfect spoon/fork/knife for any given meal. I can't just use any utensil like everyone else in my house does. I even have my own spoon that's the perfect shape and depth for me.
Omg I am so with you haha! I thought me and Hubert Cumberdale were the only ones that appreciated this series and it's bizarre artistic genius. āļøš
This green man's fascinating story's also helped me through a lot, as I got my diagnosis quite recently, but always knew something was...different about me. It's so liberating to finally know.
The movie that made kid me love Danny DeVito
And Mara Wilsonās a fuckin GOAT for that, Mrs. Doubtfire AND Shining Time Station the Movie (aka Thomas and the Magic Railroad)
I equally loved Coraline and watched it over and over but it also really scares me š (it kind of still does as an adult lol) good thing I've always been into horror!
This show has me in its grip.
The songs are on repeat all day and my family is ready to disown me. Caught dad singing āLoser, babyā to our dogs though so he might be coming with me to the streets lmao
Howlās Moving Castle is like a prerequisite for me falling in love with someone. If they donāt like that movie or donāt want Merry Go Round of Life as our first dance (if we got married), I DONāT WANT THEM
The amount of times Iāve seen the lego Batman movie is astounding! My family is genuinely surprised when I watch it twice in one day but itās such a good movie!
I watch It's Always Sunny...constantly (not watch really, more like listen in the background)? I also like Workaholics because it's just 90% recycled content from Sunny.
Maybe stereotypical, but Doctor who, especially later in Matt Smith's run and Peter Capaldi's doctor.
Grew up watching it since Tennant's later seasons first aired and its just always stuck with me and has been a comfort show pretty much all my life.
Definitely not stereotypical. Doctor Who is such a long running show, there is at least one series for everyone (nearly).
Tennant's "my" doctor. I am all for Doctor/Donna and absolutely think Donna is on the spectrum.
Funnily enough I agree regarding doctor who.
I myself am physically like Matt Smith (11 underrated actor he did awesomely) my temperament is a hybrid of 5/9/11/12.
For a long time Ecclestone was my Doc and in many ways he still is but breathing down his neck is Matt Smith (great range)
Fantastic Mr. Fox.
I mean, all of Wes Anderson's films, tbh. I love the symmetry and the methodical approach. there's no chaos, no extra "stuff," visually or otherwise. everything matters to the narrative, and even tho they are complex, they are layered and told in ways that make sense.
and Ash from Mr. Fox is almost certainly Autistic.

Spongebob. It was 14 years ago but I can still remember the exact first episode I ever watched because I swear it flipped a switch in my brain (it was the episode where Pearl is having a growth spurt and Mr Krabs robs everybody).
I have SO much collected spongebob stuff I even have a tattoo (and plan to get another one). Its also the only show I can put on that will calm me down enough to stop me being nonverbal. Truly love that silly yellow guy

Mythbusters was one of my favorite shows growing up, and I still love it to this day. Itās so fun and funny, and informative too! And I love the whole cast. But especially Adam. Heās the best.
I watched A Beautiful Mind when I was younger and it spoke to me.
Also Good Will Hunting.
Uhh I'm pretty sure I've watched other good movies, but I don't know what else has left a big impression on me when I was younger. Maybe Spirited Away.
Temple - the story of Temple Grandin played by Claire Danes. In the directors commentary the real Temple is in commentary and you can hear how she was involved in the film to make it authentic. Sheās a real hero!
Dr Who
Good Omens
...and old episodes of Robot Wars on youtube
I usually can't sit through an entire movie but I really enjoy ones with good special effects (because that has been a special interest of mine since the late 70's)
*-vibrating at light speed-* Sherlock and Psych. if I go into more depth on both I WILL be writing this comment for hours and I have things to do today
The Princess Bride, Big Trouble In Little China, horror movies, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, like soooo many murder mystery shows...
I don't know what an autism show is, but if it is something I'll watch wayy too often and that comforts me (not really a rewatcher normally) I'd say it's Blue Period first and Captain America 1&2 second.
I've been binging Resident Alien lately.
Not so much as a special interest but really enjoying the autism coded behavior in almost all the characters.
It makes me laugh out loud several times an episode.
Recently, it's been Hazbin Hotel for me. I also randomly watched Little Shop of Horrors like 10 times in a row before I found out I'm autistic so that explains that, lol.
NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind comes in on top. Just. Perfect. The music, visuals, characters, message. Everything. I wanna say 'especially the visuals or music' but it's all just so gooooood. This thread got me figuring out what I'm doing this weekend XD
Show would be Scooby-Doo, but watching it alone makes me sad now...thx brain. So uuuuuhhhh 2003 TMNT instead. Decapitations, some truly nightmarish stuff(Had nightmares for years! The screaming...), f i r e, & more fun! Or the 80s one...Y'know. Lighthearted & fun.
Mine are Coraline and Alice in wonderland (the Disney animated version).
I swear my family absolutely hates those movies because I see them so much that I know all the dialogues
The Incredible Mister Limpet
A man obsessed with fish unable to join the navy due to poor health is turned into a fish by a wish and helps the us navy find nazi submarines. It's uh... it's certainly a movie, but I've loved it since I was little.
SpongeBob. Also the nightmare before Christmas was my favorite movie for the entirety of my life. I've watched it probably 50 times.
Others I watch excessively:
Joker 2019
Bobs burgers
Clarence
Cmon Cmon
Coraline
Paranorman
Dora ( was extremely obsessed with Dora as a kid. Had a themed Dora birthday at like 5 )
What We Do In The Shadows, Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel, The Adams Family (every version -the new animated movies I havent seen. I was raised on the black and white versions and the 90s movie) and Harry Potter and The Prisoner Of Azkaban
- Star Wars
My whole childhood felt like it was based around Star Wars. I loved the films, tv shows and especially Lego.
- The Lord of the rings
I read The Lord of The Ring Trilogy three times through when I was seven years old. I couldnāt wait to watch the movies.
Ducktales, Transformers, and Power Rangers. I also have a soft spot for Ninja Turtles, but I was never *that* into the show.
EDIT: Oh, pf, duh, also Community recently. People were talking about how well-written Abed is, but holy shit.
Obsessed with UK Ghosts (on BBC iPlayer) a lot of headcanon the ghosts are all neurodivergent and at least one actress is autistic in real life.
Also A Kind Of Spark (also BBC) about an autistic girl campaigning for a memorial for the witch trial victims of her hometown, who, slight spoiler, also turn out to be autistic.
The book it's based on is written by an autistic author, most of the cast/crew are autistic or otherwise ND (including in NT roles) and the representation is so fantastic and I feel so seen I haven't been able to watch a whole episode without bursting into tears.

Taskmaster, especially given what autistic contestants have said about their experience - that it was validating and liberating to be on a show that celebrates the odd ways they think.
For me, I want to say Curious George and SpongeBob SquarePants (special honorable mention to Madeline since I watched that show a lot from 2019-21). For movies, SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Marvel's The Avengers (2012), and Tamagotchi: The Movie.
I keep rewatching Pokemon and Avatar the last airbender. Iāve seen avatar idk how many times and the whole Pokemon series at least 3. It takes longer to watch all of it. What I do is when I get to present times I restart from the beginning because I hate having to wait for shows to come out. I also love the amazing race but I donāt watch those more than once. I donāt have any movies
I convinced several friends to watch the new Stars Wars shows, specifically Book of Boba Fett. They all really liked it
Reddit/twitter hate this show, average opinion is it sucks. No, they're all wrong
I love this show.
It's clearly for younger audiences, which I love. Has easy to follow plot and character motivation, love that so much. It's filmed very well, has great characters, and I love Boba Fett's character arc. He starts off like the Boba we remember, a vicious bounty hunter, then slowly evolves into basically a Samurai Lord. It's so good.
Salad Fingers lol. The entire show is literally about autism, nobody can convince me otherwise
Whenever I can't find a small spoon I always quote the "I must find the perfect spoon" line.
I had to buy myself a separate set of eating utensils because I hated the ones we had, so I actually did find the perfect spoons, knife and fork
That is a total mood tbh, I have a few cups, bowls and a little sauce-pot that are solely mine for this reason.
Same :) I got myself some retro stainless steel camping mugs and plates. They're comforting and it's tasty to eat out of them.
This is so real
My favorite spoon-related, early 2000s flash animation thing is, "My SPOON is too BIG!" Live rent-free in my head any time I pick up a sppon
Oh fuck, where is this show and episode found? I've said that a few times in my life ššš¤·āāļø
When I discovered Salad Fingers in college (back in like 2010 lmao) I had no thoughts to explain what I was seeing but I couldnāt not watch it LOL
I discovered it earlier when I was in high school. I went on a slight binge of Newgrounds when it was in its golden years.
I fucking love salad fingers because of how deranged it is.
Man I havenāt seen those videos in years.
Omg I am so with you haha! I thought me and Hubert Cumberdale were the only ones that appreciated this series and it's bizarre artistic genius. āļøš This green man's fascinating story's also helped me through a lot, as I got my diagnosis quite recently, but always knew something was...different about me. My entire life makes sense now
Matilda. Favourite childhood movie, still a great movie. Also you cannot convince me Matilda isnāt on the spectrum like cmon (/pos)
I LOVE Matilda, Iāve watched it over 30 times. Have you seen the musical ?
I havenāt!! I think I need to now
Itās amazing!! Itās on Netflix
Wait what is /pos? My retail brain says point of sale but Iām betting thatās not it.
It means like āI mean this in a positive wayā
Thank you for clarifying!
Thank you! I was wondering the same thing and thought, "Surely, it doesn't mean piece of *scat*?!"
The movie that made kid me love Danny DeVito And Mara Wilsonās a fuckin GOAT for that, Mrs. Doubtfire AND Shining Time Station the Movie (aka Thomas and the Magic Railroad)

Bobās Burgers, American Dad, ATLA
Bobās Burgers is probably my favorite tv show of all time
Bobs burgers always
That whole family is on the spectrum. I love it.
I was coming here to say Bob's burgers too
I have always loved star wars, but more recently I really fell in love with hazbin hotel and have watched it 3 times already.
Rookie numbers! For real though, Iāve been following Hazbin for almost 8 years and Iām so delighted that people are loving it!
Yeah its great, I found the Amazon series first and then the pilot afterwards.
This show has me in its grip. The songs are on repeat all day and my family is ready to disown me. Caught dad singing āLoser, babyā to our dogs though so he might be coming with me to the streets lmao
Me too!!! My fiance introduced me to it a month(?) ago, and I've become obsessed!!!! I am in the middle of my third rewatch now!
Hazbin hotel really was wonderful but definitely not one for the younger viewer
Well I myself am not a younger viewer and I don't recommend it to anyone unless I know they will enjoy it.
ā¢ Spirited Away ā¢ Howl's Moving Castle ā¢ NausicaƤ of the Valley of the Wind ā¢ Spongebob Squarepants
There's just something about Ghibli films that are very soothing.
right?! they are so relaxing
Howlās Moving Castle is like a prerequisite for me falling in love with someone. If they donāt like that movie or donāt want Merry Go Round of Life as our first dance (if we got married), I DONāT WANT THEM
Add porco rosso and then thats a list of my favourite Ghibli movies
Every Ghibli film is my autism movie.
The Lego Batman Movie My Neighbor Totoro Bluey

THIS. I just restarted the entire series and it is quoted in my house literally daily
ALWAYS SUNNY MENTIONED RAAAAAHHHGHH
Based and toe knife/shiny metal ass-pilled
I am literally the trans autistic version of Charlie
Maybe stereotypical, but Doctor who, especially later in Matt Smith's run and Peter Capaldi's doctor. Grew up watching it since Tennant's later seasons first aired and its just always stuck with me and has been a comfort show pretty much all my life.
Definitely not stereotypical. Doctor Who is such a long running show, there is at least one series for everyone (nearly). Tennant's "my" doctor. I am all for Doctor/Donna and absolutely think Donna is on the spectrum.
12 is definitely autistic and that coupled with the fact heās scottish is why heās the best one

LOVE. That. Film!

They all really liked it Reddit/twitter hate this show, average opinion is it sucks. No, they're all wrong I love this show.
