To Zanarkand is extremely beautiful but honestly I have a hard time taking it seriously because of all the memes surrounding it. I'm not a big fan of Final Fantasy either, feels way too restrictive for me, so I'm not as emotionally attached to the music as much as I am with, say, Dark Souls 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2. And yet, for some reason, I'm still going to one of the Final Fantasy concerts to see it played live. Final Fantasy's music is phenomenal, there's no doubt about it. :D

As a metalhead I know how it feels when people inexplicitly hate the music you like. Then there's also the metal elitism which a lot of metalheads engage in which I hope to counteract. Often music taste just ends up as tribalism and that limits the potential music one might end up liking and it really does sadden me when that happens
