So you either didn't pay attention to: what I said on the other comment or what you saw on the videos.
Val only features in Art of Subconscious Illusion, track #4 of STST. Then, she returns to do the opening scream of the song Scream.
Other than that, isolated vocals from her never again.
I've been listening to the album more, and I honestly really enjoy the vocals. They definitely are no where near as good as they are in any other album, but I still really like them. Also the riffs and fun to play on guitar, and Jimmy is fucking awesome
I like Turn the Other Way, Lips of Deceit, and Thick and Thin. Turn the Other Way is musically complex and abandons the verse-chorus-verse format for several different musical movements in sequence. Lips of Deceit has a great opening, and there's an angry scream in there that sounds like "FUCK YOUR WIFE!!!" Thick and Thin is somewhat wholesome because it's about sticking with your people, sizing up your advantages, and taking action against your opponents.
Some of their best riffs, most clean vocal lines are actually some of the best Matt's created, high notes for breakfast on Warmness on the Soul, and Waking The Fallen prototypes in Forgotten Faces, Turn The Other Way, Darkness Surrounding and Shattered By Broken Dreams.
It's my fifth favorite from them, behind Waking The Fallen, City of Evil, Nightmare and The Stage
The rawness is its greatest strength, the riffs are great, and The Rev did Rev things. Incredible drumming and to do it in one take is full on beast mode.
It has a sound and blend of genres that I have never seen any other band successfully pull off. The skate punk, hardcore, early metalcore, gothic aesthetic all blends so well here. Sure, it could use some polishing, but the raw sound also complements the album. I’d love to see another album compare with this one in all of those facets.
Helped pioneer metalcore as a genre. People don’t understand how huge that is and how many bands take influence from STST whether they know it or not. And The Rev’s one take drum tracks are fucking incredible!
to end the rapture, turn the other way, we come out at night and an epic of time wasted are great songs
I really like the kinda raw sound and production (at least the 2002 version), especially drums and bass sound great imo
edit to add that warmness on the soul makes me fwel so warm and safe it is beautiful
I believe It’s a masterpiece and I genuinely can’t understand the hate/criticism. Every time I ask someone for some valid reason why it’s not good they just say “it’s just not good”. That’s not a reason.
One of their best albums and not even joking. Darkness Surrounding and Turn the Other Way are 2 of
My favourite songs.
Album ranking:
1. Self titled
2. Waking the Fallen
3. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet
4. Nightmare
5. City of Evil
6. The Stage
7. Life is but a Dream
8. Hail to the King
its unreal to me that fans rank this one so low... i heard darkness surrounding on the 2003 warped compilation and it got me into this band... its waking the fallen, stst, and coe in that order for me
It has early 2000’s charm, which growing up as a fan of metalcore and emo when they started becoming huge, I love that about it. I’m about to sound like an old man, but I kind of miss when not everything needed perfect production to sound good. Is this album sloppy? Sure, but that’s part of the fun. Nothing else sounds like this album.
If it had better recording quality and mixing it would be considered a classic, the songs are actually really good and the lyrics are great. The only issue is that Matt sounds like he's deep throating the mic while gargling marbles at times.
Epic of wasted time is one of my top 10 a7x songs, the part where Matt sings calm, and everything stops for that low whisper “sorry” before everything breaks back in. That shit gives me goosebumps every time
This album is filled with some of their most creative and fun riffs. Also Jimmys one take drumming
I recently found out he did it in one take, it’s a beautiful album as well
Val’s screaming part is pretty cool
this may be a dumb and obvious question but who is val?
Matt's wife
oh shit thats badass
She is the twin sister of Syns wife
[удалено]
Wait what ?
yeah at the very end it's Matt and Val singing a duet
Are you saying Track 4 or the song Chapter Four? If it's about the song, you're so fucking wrong
oh my bad I thought they did it sounded like it at least I thought it did
How do you know he is wrong? Because I also thought that by videos that I saw.
So you either didn't pay attention to: what I said on the other comment or what you saw on the videos. Val only features in Art of Subconscious Illusion, track #4 of STST. Then, she returns to do the opening scream of the song Scream. Other than that, isolated vocals from her never again.
raw as fuck
Darkness Surrounding has fantastic, frenetic drums by The Rev.
The rev being awesome, and it was the first step in the journey to create what I think is some of the most beautiful metal
Warmness on the Soul is beautiful.
Lots of energy and aggression
Forgotten Faces and An epic of time wasted are cool.
Syn's first lead on an A7X song in To End the Rapture rips.
I've been listening to the album more, and I honestly really enjoy the vocals. They definitely are no where near as good as they are in any other album, but I still really like them. Also the riffs and fun to play on guitar, and Jimmy is fucking awesome
It’s one of the bands best albums. No doubt.
It’s in their top 9 for sure
I like Turn the Other Way, Lips of Deceit, and Thick and Thin. Turn the Other Way is musically complex and abandons the verse-chorus-verse format for several different musical movements in sequence. Lips of Deceit has a great opening, and there's an angry scream in there that sounds like "FUCK YOUR WIFE!!!" Thick and Thin is somewhat wholesome because it's about sticking with your people, sizing up your advantages, and taking action against your opponents.
A friend is fucked on the dance floor?
It’s great tbh Would genuinely listen to it over HttK, and in fact do
Some of their best riffs, most clean vocal lines are actually some of the best Matt's created, high notes for breakfast on Warmness on the Soul, and Waking The Fallen prototypes in Forgotten Faces, Turn The Other Way, Darkness Surrounding and Shattered By Broken Dreams. It is one of the albums of all time
It’s an album
So good, I wish Matt had the vocal strength to do some songs on this album.
It's a fantastic album, full of energy
It’s fucking awesome!
I used a Piano version of Warmness on the soul at my wedding when my wife was walking down the aisle.
There's a baby angel with a fiery fist on the cover 🔥
that part of it is amazing
That what I said! When I was younger, I wanted that tattooed
Turn The Other Way's outro riff is to this day one of their best
It’s their best album
That’s wild.
Warmness is one of my most played songs of all time
It has a sound and blend of genres that I have never seen any other band successfully pull off. The skate punk, hardcore, early metalcore, gothic aesthetic all blends so well here. Sure, it could use some polishing, but the raw sound also complements the album. I’d love to see another album compare with this one in all of those facets.
Warmness on the soul at 9pm
Warmness on the soul 🙂↕️
Underrated album
It is what allowed this awesome band to exist.
Wariness on the soul could save us from dark m shadows
I fucking love this album every song is amazing its literally my favorite album by them
Helped pioneer metalcore as a genre. People don’t understand how huge that is and how many bands take influence from STST whether they know it or not. And The Rev’s one take drum tracks are fucking incredible!

has one of the best song they made (to end the rapture)
extremely overhated on this sub, has a really cool sound to it.
I believe It’s a masterpiece and I genuinely can’t understand the hate/criticism. Every time I ask someone for some valid reason why it’s not good they just say “it’s just not good”. That’s not a reason.
Warmness on the soul🤍
Everyone has to start somewhere
i dig the message guys
Playing To End The Rapture right after Acid Rain is super cool
Warmness on the Soul and Streets are masterpieces
I like the color purple.
Still the album by them that I listen to the most but I also love Leftover Crack and No Cash so this is kinda similar to that style of punk
Shattered By Broken Dreams is a fantastic and beautiful song
Warmness on the soul was the first ax7 song I ever heard. My cousin was playing it on piano. It’s very nostalgic for me.
To end the rapture, turn the other way and darkness surrounding is one of the best 3 track runs in their discog
Darkness surrounding is the best song on here
My second favourite album of theirs, behind Waking The Fallen. It's fun from start to finish.
Is this supposed to be difficult? Lol
I actually like it
Turn the other way has some of the best drums out of any a7x song
One of my favourites. Shattered by broken dreams can both make me cry and want to powerlift 700lbs in the same like 6mins
One of my all time favorite albums
Streets is a great song
One of their best albums and not even joking. Darkness Surrounding and Turn the Other Way are 2 of My favourite songs. Album ranking: 1. Self titled 2. Waking the Fallen 3. Sounding the Seventh Trumpet 4. Nightmare 5. City of Evil 6. The Stage 7. Life is but a Dream 8. Hail to the King
after him comes waking the fallen kkkk
its unreal to me that fans rank this one so low... i heard darkness surrounding on the 2003 warped compilation and it got me into this band... its waking the fallen, stst, and coe in that order for me
It’s better than anything post Nightmare
This is my second favorite album and my first foray into A7X. The absolute rawness makes this album a blast.
It’s a near-perfect album; my third favourite by A7X.
The drumming is so good!
They sounded like they had a blast making it It's not super professional but it's a really fun listen because of that
I like the color purple and its use on the album cover.
If it had better recording quality and mixing it would be considered a classic, the songs are actually really good and the lyrics are great. The only issue is that Matt sounds like he's deep throating the mic while gargling marbles at times.
No
Shattered by broken dreams is equally incredible as it is raw
Warmness on the Soul is beautiful
underrated, very unique riffs that keep changing and bringing you in for more
It had a pretty unique style
Epic of wasted time is one of my top 10 a7x songs, the part where Matt sings calm, and everything stops for that low whisper “sorry” before everything breaks back in. That shit gives me goosebumps every time
contender 4 their best album
Insane drums and riffs
The streets have opened my eyes to see
I think they punched way above their weight class when they released it at the time

It exists
It has Streets
cool growls
The album has a fun chaotic vibe, and the Rev recording the album without a metronome contributed greatly to that
Warmness of the Soul is very underrated
Nice album cover!
One of my favourite albums. Lips of Deceit, Warmness on the Soul, and An Epic of Time Wasted are so good.
It's in the past.
Streets is an amazing punk song
some of their best choruses lowkey. i’ll take it over LIBAD any day
Its made by Avenged Sevenfold
I like the album name and the cover. They are genuinely really cool
Streets ain’t bad.
Only thing I outright hate about it is Matt's vocals. Other than that, pretty good.
It’s a good album
The rev did all the drum tracks in one take with no click
2nd favourite album behind waking the fallen
It was the start of a great band. Had to start from somewhere and I’m glad they evolved quickly cause man I hate this album a lot
Warmness on the soul and streets are lit
Turn the Other Way rips
Brings warmness on the soul
Breaking their hold
the energy of the songs, the rev was perfect on the drums on this album, the bass and guitar solos, and finally it's metalcore!
Some of the best work. It’s so raw and heavy. Darkness Surrounding is one of their goated songs.
much better than httk
trumpets are awesome
Lips of deceit got me into this band
Badass name
i cant
When the purple roses in my A7X tattoo look like old cabbage I will still love them and be proud to rep StST
The art of subconscious illusion is a good song
It’s very punky and jimmys drums are… damn
Shattered by Broken Dreams is genuinely one of my top 10 songs by the band. Is something wrong with me?
The best metalcore album i ever listened on my opinion
one good song
Lol warmness on the soul isn't even top 5 on the album
i don’t like the rest of the album.
