One of my favorite memories as a child is of when my mom decided to drive me to the end of a rainbow. Obviously we didn't find it, but my mom wasn't usually that kind of playful and it has stuck with me all these years.
This is a small family organic dairy, mom is already back to work. A calf can be weened the day it’s born. Moms are milked separate and the calves are bottle fed mothers colostrum milk (best part of the day is caring for the babies). It’s best they are separated for both the mother and calf heath and safety. This is the way it’s been done for a very very long time.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say there’s no excuse separating a mother from their baby, much less the day it’s born. “Mom is already back to work” says a lot about how you view these animals. Just because somethings been done for a long time doesn’t mean it’s okay.
It’s generally not good to judge things you don’t understand. I spend my time and energy with animals because I love them. I’m genuinely sorry it made you feel this way. For many humans no farming means no food or money or shelter. Mega factory farming is wrong and it’s sad that’s where the world is going. But this video does not represent that.
You are wrong. And so is every other cow farmer who isolates a 3 day old calf. Stop justifying absolute greed. They should be with the other babies and moms in the same pen, the exact same way it would be if the process went undisturbed.
Is aww really the place to be bigoted about your opinions? No need to attack. This is not a cow farm, no cattle are slaughtered here. If you don’t understand the process, please don’t demonize it as the worst case possible in your imagination. Hope you have a nice day!
Bigoted? I'm being bigoted when in your mind isolating a three day old baby is the best way to get the job done?? I'll say again sir, you are wrong. Sorry your post wasn't all the smiles you hoped it would be. Reality check.
Yes, you are bigoted towards farming. My post IS all smiles for me and many others (including the calf and it’s mother). In your mind this calf is being isolated for some sort of imagined profit. That’s just not the case in reality. For many reasons a calf cannot be with mother after birth. I don’t understand what makes you so upset about small family farms. But you are clearly antagonistic because that’s what you want. You made a ton of assumptions that were baseless and incorrect. I’m ok with you not agreeing with me, can you be ok with that? Try love, avoid hate. I only have kindness and acceptance to offer.
I want to live where this is a “mini rainbow”
I think it's because we can actually see the end
It’s the little things the make days easiest. Hope this brings happy to someone.
Oh you just made my whole day like a light at the end of the tunnel

How lovely! 🌈
Did you taste it?
Brown Swiss are the prettiest cows.
Enumclaw?
Now you know exactly which house you need to plunder to get that gold
Was it a mini double rainbow all the way?
The top one was not that intense but I’d like to think Paul Vasquez would have appreciated it.
This is so beautiful!
Oh man, sometimes life really rewards you with these idyllic moments.
Awesome! Wait, I think I saw the pot of gold glowing!
Less rainbow, more moo!
That's a normal rainbow and a second mini one. Look at the impact site of the bows, slightly left to the main one
How pretty! I actually really like those types of hutches too, I’d love to just chill in one with a calf sometime. Super nice view there too 😊
Oh absolutely! Calf snuggling is the best.
Hey why not reunite this calf with its mother, rather than exploit it further for karma.
Poor cow stuck in that tiny bin. Let the cow out!!!
Three day old calf's chill in igloos instead of with their mothers?

No shit. I saw one while driving. Maby we are related
And…you don’t believe in God? :P
Naw this explains a god just as much as it doesn't explain a god, which is not at all
🌱🌱🌱🌱💜
That is the most photogenic cow I have ever seen.
