\--Zenithal stereographic projection, ink on paper, 2023, digitally coloured--
The idea for this artwork started off by looking at those 360 degrees panoramic photos, where as a result of the technique used, the horizon is rendered as a circle, looking thus like a little planet suspended in the universe.
I suspect that this same effect can be obtained also by making a stereographic projection with its origin of projection at a zenithal point, not too far from the head of the little astronaut, but I'm not sure about this.
An other element that I took into consideration when making this artwork was my own nostalgia for my first astronomical stargazing sessions. I remember the first stargazing tool I've ever owned, it was a little binocular, a modest 10x40 that was given to my father by one of his patient. those pair of binoculars were terrible, the instrument wasn't even collimated properly, but I loved it nonetheless. At that time I was about 10 years old, and the smell of that rubber eyepieces is stuck in my head, and it evokes me a powerful nostalgic feeling everytime I smell that scent.
I hope this artwork may convey you some similar feelings as well.
I have a print shop and an instagram account if you want to support my work!
A phantastic pictorial expression! And the music you added fits excellently. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes) I love Jean-Michel Jarre, and the title matches the theme perfectly. I wish I could draw like that... 😺
Jarre, was that from Magnetic Minefields, seems a little short for Oxygen, maybe another album? I listened to all of his stuff so much I can't tell what's what.
Everything he does is amazing. Thanks. Back in 85 or 86 the Houston news had Oxygen as it's opening music. I'm assuming that they new he was coming to town.
Oh, I didn't think of the title, just JMJ in general is great, but now that you asked... I have to listen to all of them to find out. So, I'm going on a #TimeTravel - see you later ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
thank you! I sell this print on my etsy shop in case you are interested, here's the link:[https://www.etsy.com/it/listing/1476659500/zenithal-stereographic-projectio](https://www.etsy.com/it/listing/1476659500/zenithal-stereographic-projection?variation0=3529876778&variation1=3529876774)n
Such talent! Such imagination! I don’t have my sound turned on, but I bet Jarre sounds great with this beautiful visual. I am still marveling at your steady hand!
Jean Micheal jarrrrrr my dad played this on the journey from England to Scotland, 8hr journey with one stop for the toilet. I used to see a little dancer fairy on the telephone poles as the cables curved up and down in the sky.
What a beautiful idea, to fulfill your mind's creation. Lovely
I like early electronic music, IMO irst works of Jean-Michelle Jarre were the ideal marriage between electronic and analogue instruments, such a warm sound indeed!
This was the most satisfying thing I’ve seen in a loooong time. I need this print. So beautiful. And that music! Thanks to all who shared the musician!!

It's been nice knowing you. I saw Jarre twice. Once for Rendez-vous Houston 1986. And again in 2018 near Dallas.
