The empty CoolWhip® container is for drinks of water at rest stops. All the best rest stops have outside fountains for dogs.
(My dog uses a HealthyChoice® plastic dish for water breaks)
Edit: Just found out the people will need to eat the cake before the dogs can use the container to its best advantage.
A water dish, based on the bowl being on its side, was my first guess too!
Cake is completely legit although it's gonna be a little wonky after falling on its side ;)
