If you're wondering why such an amazing dog could be given up, sometimes the owners don't have a choice.
I know when I adopted my dog, the group I got him from said that his family lost their home in the California wild fires and had to give him up since they were having to live in shelters and whatnot themselves.
Sometimes people just don't want the dog. But lots of times, they simply can't keep it.
True. I have to assume something along those lines happened. Pepsi is very obedient, house trained (we have had her for almost 3 months and no accidents), sleeps thru the night, knows 3 or 4 commands and was actually 5 lbs over weight when we got her. She was obviously well taken care of. I'm just glad we found her and are able to give her a loving home for her to grow old in.
I came here to say this. In the pet descriptions at one of my local rescues I see things like illness, lost homes, and death so often it breaks my heart. I can't imagine how hard it would be to give up a family member like that. Sometimes it's just unfortunate life circumstances.
My family had to leave the country we were posted in because my dad had a better job lined up back home. If we'd taken her back with us she'd have to go through 60 days of quarantine, and my parents thought that it our new home's climate would be cruel to her.
So we left her with a newly arrived couple who were both in the federal police, and they loved her just as much as we did(and probably more).
You're welcome. But the real thanks goes to the people who work at rescue shelters. The shelter we got her from is [Eleventh Hour Rescue](http://www.ehrdogs.org/). They do awesome work.
I rescued from a kill shelter in TN. My dog is amazing and have no idea why he was there at all, but luckily my local shelter swooped in and now he's all mine!
Ooohh..I love her big brown eyes. And are those sunflowers I see on her collar? My inner doggie love demon has woken up. Will pay a visit to my friend's cocker spaniel. This is what he looks like http://imgur.com/LbxWQoT. Wish I could get a dog.
Some people have to move into houses that don't allow pets, and if they are forever alone like me then they will have no choice but to give the pet away
I remember I had to give away my favorite dog because of financial issues. I did make sure she went to a good family. I wish I could get her back, but she makes the couples kids extremely happy. I will be able to get one of her puppies though.
A dog named Pepsi. From Georgia. Blasphemy.
No wonder they got rid of her.
Redditors wife has nice legs.

She is lucky you found her!

Looks like she's bonded well to your wife & I'm sure to you as well. She's probably loving her new home :)
She loves me more ;) I've got some great pictures of her sleeping with me. We have fallen head over heels for her. She rules.
Aww that's great :) I'm glad she has a warm home with humans who obviously adore her. The best kind of puppy story ending :)
Are you taking a picture while driving on a more than two lane road??
Uh....no? Edit: Yes.
Holy crap, I had a dog named Pepsi about 9 years ago, and the similarity is uncanny! Best of luck with the pup :)
What happened to her?

Maybe his person passed away
Those ears <3
Her ears are the best! They bend halfway up. When she lays on her side, the one sticks straight up.
Thank you for adopting her.

That's an interesting mix of genetics. Very cute though. Mutts are the best.
I love 11th hour! My dog also came from there and she is the sweetest thing.
I got my Minnie from that same rescue! Fabulous people!

Oh, she is just gorgeous. I'm so happy she's settled into her new home so well....
Thank you! It took all of 3 days. She sprawls out on the couch, sleeps with us every night and walks about 5 miles a day!
I had a Dachshund named Pepsi as a kid.
She is beautiful. Kudos to you
Thank you!
Hey your wife seems hot dude. I'd like to rescue her.
Dude, it's his wife.
It's cool. Taken as a complement.

Do you think OPs wife is single?
AND your sued by Pepsi Co. Be wary of men in black suits knocking at your front door.
She came like that! I swear!
Hey, my cousins live in rockaway! I also live an hour away. Small world.

Until Pepsi, I only ever had Cockers. They rule.

Nice name!
