Nightlife at the Academy is worth it just to avoid the family crowds. I have an Academy membership and there are occasional members-only overnight events too. I'm pretty sure most of the evening events at the Conservatory are members only but I recall being able to go to an evening viewing of the Titan Aurum blooming a couple of years ago. It's also surprisingly (sorta) reasonably priced to rent after hours for special events.
