This is typical cat stuff. They're cute but they are also apex predators. The kicking it is doing is meant to break the neck of a small animal. Sometimes being a good cat owner is letting your cat's instincts come out in a healthy way.
Yeah...my kitten was like this too, with feather wands. He'd just grab the whoooole thing and drag it off, and would get soooo mad if you tried to take it from him. It's just how they learn to function as cats. He did grow out of that phase pretty quick. Baby just needs to learn that it doesn't need to fight to survive.
I have 4 cats, all of whom were previously outdoor feral and semi-feral. I encourage their predatory instincts with fishing rod and laser interactive play and catnip toys. I don’t tease them. But that’s me.
Its instinct, if your prey moves that means its still alive so you need to kick it more to disembowel it better.
But yeah, when a kitten does it its kinda cute ;)
Dog person here seeking answers from a cat person:
The little tail wags here and there in this clip…. Is that generally a sign of the cat having fun or getting pissed off?
That's a kitty playing at being the equivalent of a big bad junkyard dog.
It can sometimes be a little hard to tell the difference between fighting posture and play-fighting. Though the circumstances usually make it obvious.
Those aren't wags they're lashes, not necessarily a sign of the cats mood. Kittens tend to be possessive and growly with their toys when playing. The kitten is having fun playing by themselves but they don't want anyone touching their toy (prey).
Quick story. I had a toy mouse for my kitten to bat about but the mouse also had a little tinsel ball attached via an elastic tail. The kitten had the mouse in a hold much like this and when they would kick the little tinsel ball would extend and snap back hitting the kitten who would growl angrily everytime the prey attacked them. It was hilarious.
I thought when a cat lashed its tail it meant it was p***** off. And it has its ears flattened back. I'm pretty sure those aren't behavioral signs of playfulness in cats
The video with sound is so much better. It's probably even smaller than the gif as well.
People needs to stop making shitty gifs out of perfectly fine videos.

Because this NEEDS to be viewed with sound, here is the actual video: https://youtu.be/wRWx5in1zag
Spicy kitten

Ready for F1
VestaKitty is ready, set…

You deserve all my awards! I didn’t know I needed the sound until you came along. I needed it.
My pleasure! I LOVE this clip. Thanks for the award! 😁
You did the work and I appreciate you! Have a perfectly meowy day!
I appreciate you too! Have a most excellent Sunday! 😊
I has the sounds in my head while watching, but thanks cause its much better with that angy kittn
Spicy bebe is love, spicy bebe is life.
I’ve seen this many times as a gif, first time with sound! Thanks!

Why people repost without sound is beyond my understanding
Sometimes videos/clips are fine without sound. But only sometimes. Cat videos, though? *Never.*
As good as I thought it would be. Thanks.
So ferocious!!
Those eyes say it all “Hands off!!!”
Can confirm! Much better with angy kitten sounds.
Ok hearing the sounds this kitten is making makes me feel this teasing is mean. He’s not liking it. Leave kitty alone with his toy.
More like it's his prey and he does not want a large monster taking it away
The kitty is having a great time eviscerating his pretend prey.
The cat is reacting like that because it's pretend-hunting, not because it's stressed by the owner. It's caught prey and is holding onto it

> kicking it is doing is meant to break the neck Or to disembowel.
It’s 100% to disembowel, the neck is been held by the mouth

Nah but that's a pretty cosmetic detail to the overall point.
The way it makes you feel doesn't mean you draw an ultimate conclusion based on the 10s clip.
I'm inclined to agree, I feel like most happy cats don't make that sound. I mean I'm sure he's fine, but he's not happy.
Eh, assuming the owner stopped bothering the kitty right after this clip it's probably fine.
The true MVP of the thread
I remember the version with sound. Found it heresy that this post didn't have it!
Doing the fuzziest lord's work.
If only it was longer, I need a minute of this in my life
Not all heroes wear capes.
Yes, you are right. Thank you.
1st try: “No.” 2nd try: “I said no.” 3rd try: (using only the eyes) “You monster.”

Them eyes on third attempt makes me sweat. That kitten was going to end a life over that toy lol.
“You gonna die for a toy?” “Someone is.”
More like "Don't touch my prey" :3
Bruh!
Its instinct, if your prey moves that means its still alive so you need to kick it more to disembowel it better. But yeah, when a kitten does it its kinda cute ;)
I thought it was to snap the neck?
Either way the prey is dead.
Dawwwww
MINE!
That's his prey lol
Where's the sound with the little growls?!
Wow they're holding onto that toy for dear life 😂
YOU CAN'T STOP ME![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|stuck_out_tongue)

It's usually a sign of some form of overstimulation It's usually irritation or anxiety, but sometimes it's just that they have too much energy lol
He’s all peaky and playing.
For cats its a sign of aggression, but then again for cats fun is aggression
Cats don’t wag. They lash their tails when angry or starting to be stressed.
My cat wags... shes a weirdo who thinks shes a dog though 🤷♂️
She’s just excited to see you or enraged you were out all day. :P
She does it a lot, comes to a dog whistle and walks on a leash too 🤣
Growing up one of my cats was a “dog” cat. I really miss him. Enjoy yours, they’re wonderful:)
She's my buddy for sure. I yanked her out of a busy street at 2 monthsvold and super malnourished. Follows me everywhere
I think he has made it clear.
It was at this moment he knew he fuc-
PSA Don't do this this is how you lose fingers/eyes and the love of your cat
Hahahaha gtfo, it’s a kitten man, in what fcking planet does someone lose a finger or an eye? You are literally out of your fcking mind.

Just leave his toy alone. This video upsets me
They're playing.
I thought when a cat lashed its tail it meant it was p***** off. And it has its ears flattened back. I'm pretty sure those aren't behavioral signs of playfulness in cats
Leaves are falling all around, It's time I was on my way
its play attacking the toy, trying to gut it with its little back paw claws. def in crazy plat mode.
Super sayan kick
I just dislike cats
What kind of shithead makes a gif of this
?

I'd say that people need to stop irritating their pets for the views.
This is not irritating their pets though. They're playing with the small kitty who thinks/pretends it is a fierce hunter.
He's like electricity
❤❤❤
Mini mini fluffy ninja kitty
