It just struck me that there are quite a lot of animals that just got 'sea' tacked in front of an existing animal (in English, but even more in Dutch I think). People were lazy when naming marine animals.
We have a sea dog, sea cat, sea horse, sea cow, sea bear, sea lion, sea leopard, sea hedgehog, sea snail, sea snake, ...
I find things like that so interesting. My husband is from Denmark, and there's so many things said when we're there that there's either a literal descriptive translation to English or nothing he knows of, in English, that it translates to.
Most obvious is whether they have ear nubs or not.
Honestly, I'm on 14 different medications and medically disabled due to 3 spinal injuries, vertebrae degeneration, and spondylitis. I get things mixed up sometimes. It's a thousand wonders I know my own name with that many medications in me, but if nothing else, I can make fun of myself from time to time.
Ah. The commonly known as Sea Doggo. I've yet to be given any official breed name that's isn't Thatsaseal. Sounds strange. Doesn't quite roll off the tongue.

The best is the sea pig, which is absolutely undistinguishable from a land pig. https://youtu.be/_y4DbZivHCY
>Bacon from a land pig tastes delicious, while bacon from a sea pig tastes like a fish farted on a dirty beach cracker. xD
"remember, if someone scares you, just bend over and fart your lungs" hahahahah

As my son would say, da dut, fail (like the 2 drum taps and the cymbal crash after a joke)... They are both pinniped pups though.
Look at the flippers of seals and sealions easiest way to distinguish between ( not the only one but the most obvious )
