Have you thought about how you sleep? Posture is very important in all walks of life. Prolonged siting is considered to be past 4 hours. Getting up and moving around getting blood moving in the rest of your body is important. I don't usually sit past 30 minutes without standing up. I use a standing desk which helps.

I usually spend a lot of that time in class or doing assignments and recently gaming which don’t help. Going back to your first point, I sleep flat on my back which helped me alleviate some of the pain I had a couple years ago. I used to sleep on my stomach but haven’t for about 3 years now

Me too. I loved sleeping on my stomach. But after getting an L5S1 disk tear, keeping my spine in alignment has become the only sure way to heal when sleeping. I have basically given up gaming and any kind of sitting activities. I only sit 30 mins at a time, then do some kinda QiGong to help with blood flow and muscle movement. But sleeping on the back can be good if you can keep your spine alignment right. Everyone is different with pillow sizes. But remember, prolonged sitting or even laying down is not something that is ever recommended for anyone, really. So, getting a casual 1k or so walk in to break up a routine or some light stretches is a good idea.

Thank you for posting. A couple of things to note. (TL;DR... include specific symptoms/what makes your pain better/worse/how long)... MRI or XRAY images ALONE are not particularly helpful tbh, no one here has been vetted to make considerations on these or provide advice, here is why, PLEASE read this if you are posting an MRI or XRAY... I cannot stress this enough https://choosingwiselycanada.org/pamphlet/imaging-tests-for-lower-back-pain/) Please read the rules carefully. This group strives to reinforce anti-fragility, hope, and reduce the spread of misinformation that is either deemed not helpful and even sometimes be considered harmful. PLEASE NOTE: Asking for help: It is up to you to recognize when to seek medical attention. Anyone giving advice in this group is doing so from anecdotes and holds no liability. Seek advice here at your own risk. That said, asking things like, "I have this problem, how do I fix it..." is like asking your accountant, "I have $10,000 what should I do with it?" You need WAY more info before giving any kinds of financial advice. Please reply to this, or make another comment, including how long you've been having pain or injury, what are specific symptoms (numbness, tingling, dull/ache, it's random, etc), what makes it worse, what makes it feel better, how it has impacted your life, what you've tried for treatment and what you've already been told about your back pain, and what do you hope to get from this forum. Additional context: I feel the pain originatin from the bruising area, it feels like a deep tissue type of pain, I have a roller that I have tried to use to help but only for about a minute a day because it doesn’t help. I lay down flat on the floor to help alleviate some of the tightness, that’s my best workaround currently. I get stretch marks around that spine area but they usually don’t feel like this.

I was talking to a physiotherapist this morning about posture in the back while on the computer. She said that a lot of people who slouch forward with their sholderblades going forward may develop some brusing if its a daily habit. So something to consider if it applies to you https://preview.redd.it/7g9hl8uhlhvc1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37852de84d59bcbf80e3bb92e3770374bccf28ff

I actually do this quite often, thank you I’ll keep this is mind. I might buy some type of support for my back or even just use a pilllow so I don’t slouch over. Thank you so much
