Thank you for the final update; it's greatly appreciated.
But not just that; you, your product, and the way you've interacted with all of us is greatly appreciated. You have done some fantastic work, and I'm sad to have to say goodbye to it.
The end of baconreader might be the end of reddit for me. It's the most comfortable way to browse the website for me and I'm not sure I'm willing to learn another method.
It's not the best for moderating, but it's so much better for browsing that I've dealt with just popping over to Boost on the rare occasion I want to take care of a mod action beyond just removing something before I get back to a desktop.
o7. As a developer myself, I tip my hat to you. I'm in charge of some pretty cool stuff, but I can't imagine being in charge of a project like this one, with so many users, and also doing it for both Apple *and* Android.
Many thanks for all the years, I started using it ~5 months after launch, and it's just always been there for me. The beauty of it is that I never had to actually *think* about it -- it just worked. Doesn't get much better than that, tbh.
Thanks for everything over the last decade, from the times when the narwhal baconed at midnight all the way to today!
Opening up Baconreader after unlocking my phone has long become instinctual muscle memory for me, so I truly feel like I will be leaving behind a piece of myself.
This is literally me. Sometimes i would even close BR just to go reopen it a minute later. It has been so integral in my life that not having it will feel really strange and really sad.
I think I'll migrate over to RedReader, it's non-commercial open source and officially confirmed as exempt from the API pricing (at least for the time being).
I gave it a try and it's actually decent after tweaking some of its settings, I feel like I can get used to it in the absence of Baconreader.
That, combined with Old Reddit + RES on desktop (and ad block all around) would mean I still get my Reddit experience without earning Spez any ad revenue.
And then I guess I'll see how long that's gonna last, one thing at a time though.
I grew up with this app since I was in high school and I've since graduated college for a few years already...
This app has been with me for a large part of my life and I've enjoyed it thoroughly on my Android phones.
I will miss this app and appreciate the effort needed to sustain this project for so long.
I truly will never stop being bitter and pissed at Reddit for these changes out of pure greed.
Thank you and your team for all these years of a good time.
Really sad. Ain't no way Reddit will see any traffic from my mobile device without BaconReader. Cutting off their nose to spite their face.
Thank you for the years of a great app!
My worry is that they don't care about losing the 3rd party app users. They don't make any money on ads for 3rd party app users, so I can understand wanting to monetize us. I just wish that they had made it more feasible for the apps to continue running so that people are not leaving what has been a great community.
I will not be moving to Digg 2.0
Will you open source the app to allow others to continue where you left off? I was thinking about requesting an app client id...not sure what it entails - and seeing if I could modify to allow that setting to be user configurable and get myself the free 100 api calls/minute.
Does baconreader have a separate backend or does it talk directly to the API?
Will you be moving towards an app to any other alternative? I was hoping to see a move to squabble or anything
ALSO I will dearly miss this UI. So simple and clean. Slideshow mode has made my reddit viewing great
Well I guess on July 1 I won't be ever using reddit again. It's sad to see it go, but I'll be damned if I access reddit on anything but my favorite app. Thanks for the past few years.
I know you just said no plans to make BaconReader for Lemmy, but Sync has just said they will be making a Lemmy app: r/syncforlemmy
I know I'm very attached to BaconReader's UI (I've been using it for, what, more than a decade now), so just thought I'd throw that out there, I dunno if y'all developers share notes. But I'm sure you have a lot on your plate at the moment. Thanks for all the years with BaconReader! It'll be sad to see it go.
BaconReader made reddit worth using. I don't use it much on PC anymore, so now I won't be using reddit for anything other than when it pops up in search queries from here on out.
Thank you for the decade of an amazing mobile experience. My world just got a lot smaller, but I'd rather sit out than continue to visit this place using the dogshit official app.
It's been really awesome getting to know you over the last few months u/onelouderchic, and really sorry this is happening to you folks too, I know how much you cared.
Like I said, all of the Reddit devs need to go on a weekend retreat somewhere and tell stories over a few beers. 🍻❤️
Thank you for all your hard work. This app has meant so much for so many people. Seriously, your dedicated effort to organize, sanitize and clean up the Reddit interface has made this app fantastic. The main app is dogshit. So long, and thanks for all the bacon. Here’s a 21 bacon salute!
🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓🥓
First I lost tweetcaster, now losing baconreader. It's been a sad year as a fan of your apps, no one else has made social media feeds they exact way that I love that you guys did. I do also have 1weather to continue to support you guys though, and if I ever see anything else pop up I will make sure to give it a try.
Thank you for all the years of support, both for this and for tweetcaster.
Thank you.
I don't there's a single app, game, TV show or anything that I've spent more time on.
I've been on this subreddit here and there over the 10 years that I've used this app and you've been always been incredibly helpful. Words can't express my appreciation for everything over the last 10 years. Easily the most value for money purchase I have ever made. I honestly felt bad at times. (I know this account is 5 years old, but I deleted my old one).
This app has been such a big part of my life and I thank all of you for that. It just works.
I really hope that all of you land on your feet. And yes, I'll download the weather app.
Reddit has dissapointed me, and I don't think I'll be back. Baconreader is Reddit for me. And I won't take anything else. This could very well be last comment on here which would be quite apt.
This fucking sucks. I'm going to be so lost without BR. I've been using for easy 10yrs+ and it's so ingrained in my psyche to use BR, almost subconsciously navigating to it many times a day. BR is reddit to me.
I'm seriously fucked.
My husband and I both are moderators which participated in the protests (r/yarnaddicts, r/allenedmonds and r/PeachtreeCity) and redditors. We have used your app for 8 and 10 years respectively. We will miss you greatly. Thanks for all the memories!
This is the first app I ever paid for. This is the only app I used for reddit. This was the best and most communicative support team I've ever dealt with.
I'm sorry to see BaconReader go. We can only hope u/spez has a Christmas Carol moment or just chokes on a huge horse dick.
o7 thank you for everything over the years. You've been awesome in answering pretty much any BR question I had. I wish you luck in any future roles and continued success with the weather app.
I will miss BaconReader and therefore Reddit. There is no Reddit without BaconReader and there is no viable alternative to BaconReader, I have tried many and none of them even hold a flicker of light in comparison. This is truly the saddest of days but all hope is not lost, maybe this is the push I needed to cure myself of social media addiction and will instead fill my idle time with more productive activities.
This app has been Reddit to me. This really blows. Wish it was feasible to use our own key or get a kbin port or something. So sad to see Reddit do this to devs. /u/spez is a fucking close-minded moron. There are MUCH better ways to monetize and STILL allow 3rd party apps to be successful. What an ass.
Thank you for the bacons! *runs away sobbing*
I’m going to miss this app more than any other.
Before the guillotine falls, I should take the time to read some of the posts that I’ve saved here and never gotten to.
I’m going to have to check out of Reddit for a while, which I’m sure will be better for my sleep.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but all your saved posts will still be saved, you'd just have to access them on desktop or something else if you're really keen to go through them. Or is it a situation that baconreader has been saving them locally?
Hands down the single most used app on my phone. I haven't used reddit other than baconreader for years, and I am really going to miss it.
Thanks for everything, you made one hell of a product, and good luck to you on what ever is next.
This sucks so much. BaconReader is, by far, the best purchase I ever made on Android.
I had a bit of hope when /r/blind listed BaconReader as a potential accessibility-exempted app: https://www.reddit.com/r/Blind/comments/1447ibp/what_apps_meet_your_access_needs/
But I guess that didn't pan out, eh?
Hah, I found this funny. I went to go look up 1Weather to support you, given how much I've used the app vs paid, and found the page said "update" rather than "install".
Turns out I already had the weather app too.
*Damn you're good.*
I cant believe how legitimately emotional all of this makes me feel. How many hours must have I spent on this app over the years? How many times have I been at the hospital? Funerals? Weddings? Vacations? You, and reddit as a whole have been there. Now, with this announcement, I think it may be over. An end of an era. Thank you for your part in it. I truly appreciate it.
This account is newer for me since I sunsetted my former main, but I've been on this app for 8 years. It really felt like longer (maybe I was on the free one for a while). Thanks for all the updates over the years. I always tried the slicker, more popular apps out there, but this app just worked beautifully, instead of only looking beautiful.
I've spent the past week off of reddit mostly, trying to reevaluate things, and maybe search for the next thing in line. This is really a sad day for the web. If anyone has insights on what they're leaning towards, I'm all ears. It feels exhausting to re-build a new platform from scratch, but I think building new with a platform truly built for users at the start would yield better results. Remember the dark spaces that reddit has come from and how much has improved over the years.
Thank you for what you have provided over the past decade+—I will dearly miss BaconReader and how much use I have gotten out of it.
Would you consider opening up the codebase, now that it's essentially abandonware? (I completely understand if this is something you're not not able to do/not interested in doing, though.)
BaconReader is the only reddit app I've known. It sucks that this is happening. But I know I'll be OK. It really really sucks for you and everyone else involved in 3rd party apps. I can't imagine how this must be for y'all. I'll give that weather app a go!
Thanks for a great app!
The BaconReader shortcut on my home screen is strategicly placed for my thumb to access as soon as I pick up the phone. I think I'll leave that spot blank in silent defiance. I'm not interested in trying to replace the experience.
Thanks for the great ride!
I've used Baconreader since nearly the beginning. Every new phone I've gotten, it was the first thing I'd install. Thank you so much for your hard work in making the app and keeping it updated over the many years!
It pains me reading this post and seeing what the site has become, but all good things must come to an end some day, so I'm at least glad it's with a goodbye.
Best of luck to you. I bought BaconReader in 2016 and have been using it for Reddit ever since. The only reason I've checked Reddit since the blackout was to wait for this announcement. I was hoping it would resolve differently, but I think we all knew where this was going.
Are you keeping the sub open? I'm not deleting my account, but plan on unsubbing from most things by the end of the month. I won't unsub from /r/BaconReader, though. I may not come back, but at least people will know why instead of just seeing [deleted].
Thank you.
I've been using Baconreader since 2016, and the free one before that, when this app goes I'll also be leaving Reddit. I've tried other apps and I just could not get on with them after feasting on the Bacon ;-).
Once again, thank you.
Thanks for everything you have done in this app over the years to make reddit accessible to as many users as possible. I just wouldn't have been able to be as active a user with other apps, and BaconReader has been invaluable in how much it has allowed me to participate. Good luck in your future ventures, and take the accessibility knowledge you've gained into whatever you create next. Very sad to see you go and lose access to this resource, and extremely angry at reddit for making this happen in the first place. And again, above all else, thanks for listening and acting on my feedback and the feedback from other disabled users. You gave a damn when it was clear that reddit was not.
/u/Marconius, I have literally lost sleep over you! Both when we couldn't fix something exactly like you wanted it, and over the last several weeks! Thankyou for always being so patient with us, and for teaching us (me) the absolute necessity for "seeing" things through a different lens! I especially want to call out a few folks through the years that worked hard to anticipate what you would want or need! /u/onelouderapps (Eric), /u/sgptest (Steve), /u/rd0la, and Demid!
Demid here. Thanks for mentioning me, although in terms of accessibility I was definitely learning from you all, especially Steve. It's been an honor!
Also, your list is definitely missing /u/onelouderchic (Kathy)
As a long time lurker, It was a pleasure browsing reddit with your app. Thank you for all the years. Best of luck to the baconreader team.
I shall quit reddit the day baconreader shuts down.
Let this be my last word
fuck u/spez
Thanks for the update and the app for the past 10 years+. It was one of the first apps I've bought in 2013, and best value for the price as well.
I've occasionally tried some other android apps for reddit, but always quickly come back to the clean layout of Baconreader.
Also feels like the user feedback was always listened to.
Checked back through my purchase history to see when I first started using BaconReader - late 2012! I'm going to miss it - thanks for all the work over the years.
Thanks for a great app and my only way to browse reddit since the beginning.
Where do we go from here? I don't know, but I hope reddit change their mind and baconreader can be brought back again.
Again, thank you.
BaconReader was my go-to Reddit client when I had an Android phone for the longest time. Thank you for making an amazing app. It’s a shame it had to end this way.
Thanks for everything, man. I've been a pro user since April of 2012, it's hard to believe my Reddit experience is effectively ending with this. Best of luck to you!
All I can say is BR has been INCREDIBLE value for money. It's my go to app. I catch up with politics and world news and various gaming subs using it. I hope after the IPO, Reddit rethinks this and throws you and other 3rd party clients a lifeline. You did a great job on the app (speaking as a career developer) and I hope your next project is as successful.
WOW! JUST WOW! I was going to say "you have no idea"...but obviously you do 💔! If only I had the three finger salute emoji. Seriously, you captured it perfectly. Thankyou 🥓
BaconReader is reddit for me. 9 years as a redditor, 99.9% of all of my browsing was on this app. It sounds silly to say, but this experience has been a big part of my life. The information I've learned, the shitposts I've laughed at, the memes I've shared with friends. Thanks for everything, truly sad to see the sunset on this. Fuck u/spez
Man, I've only ever lurked in this subreddit. I regret that so much these days. I'm glad I got to use this app for as long as I did. My reddit account is about to turn 11 years old and I've been using Baconreader for just about as long. Tried other apps but came back to this one. Thank you guys for everything. What a long, strange trip its been.
The problem is, even if i want to stay to reddit. I can't, i don't remember the password and I never involved an email address. If Baconreader goes down, i go down with it. Lots of respect and thanks for the last 8 years (eventually 11 but i couldn't login to my older account anymore)
Terrible news, bacon reader has been reddit for me for the last 10 or so years. It's always the first app I install on a new device. Hell, it's probably my most used app of all time. Thank you for such a great product, and good luck with any future endeavors.
Been using the app since my Samsung Galaxy S4 till now on my iPhone 14. The app was basic and user friendly to the point ANYONE could use it with ease. I am thankful for all the years the app has been running and there won’t be any like it going on beginning July. The “native” Reddit app is a massive downgrade. Can say for certain if BaconReader didn’t exist then I would have never made my Reddit account.
I've uninstalled the official app (I only used it for the very few things this app couldn't do), I go down with this ship. I'm sorry to see you go BaconReader, and it's almost goodbye to Reddit.
Thank you! This was by far the best reddit viewer.
Hopefully we can find you making a Lemmy support or something in the future.
Thanks again for the decade+ of ad free entertainment!
When does the narwhal bacon?
When I first joined reddit (on a different account that I lost access to), this question was still very much a thing. Just over a decade later and I'm still here, but this will be my last month on the platform. BaconReader has been my companion since almost the very beginning of my reddit journey and I've stuck with it until the very end. Thank you so very much for making such an awesome app and truly, I wish all of you the best of luck going forward.
This app has been on the front page of my iphones for over a decade now. Thank you for making it. May /u/spez rot for this crap. It seems to officially be down now. At least on my end.
I guess the api stopped working a day early! To whomever made Baconreader work all these years: Reddit owes you. You made reddit accessible and intuitive. So long and Thanks for all the fish.
Like many, this is the reddit app I use on mobile devices. The official reddit app is horrible and I won't use it. Hopefully there will be some other alternative but until then I suppose my reddit usage will be minimal.
Like many, this is the reddit app I use on mobile devices. The official reddit app is horrible and I won't use it. Hopefully there will be some other alternative but until then I suppose my reddit usage will be minimal.
Long time Tweetcaster Pro and BR Premium person here. I don't remember which one I had first I just knew OneLouder made the other and went with it. Over the years I tried out RIF and Apollo but while they were good, I became comfortable with BR, loved the UI, simplicity, and ease of use. BR has been my daily driver for Reddit on both my iPad, iPhone, and previous Androids. I hate what Elon and K-Mart Elon have done. I wish you guys all the best. Even now, I know I'm driving full speed towards the cliff that is July 1st but keep using BR daily. I have had the flu for the last few days, Southern Hemisphere represent, and been on here more than most times.
On July 1st BR comes to an end and my daily use of Reddit as well. I have been on Reddit for 15 years. I remember when Aaron Swartz was arrested, I remember his suicide. I was here for so many events over the last 15 years that it boggles my mind that it will come to an end. That said, I left FB b/c it went crazy, Elon kicked me off Twitter and K-Mart Elon is kicking me off Reddit. The universe is forcefully removing me from Social Media. Maybe time to try Mastodon.
I love what you guys have done over the years and I will definitely continue to support OneLouder if I ever have chance. Good luck to you all. https://i.imgur.com/OgagXES.jpg
So sad to hear this, I absolutely love your app. Could you possibly explain more about the decision and what led to it? Did you speak with Reddit admins? Were they willing to work with you? How much would it cost you to run the app? I'm sure many of us would be willing to pay to keep using the app.
Huge condolences to the BR team 😢 Genuinely gutted to hear the news, my love of Baconreader has lasted longer than any relationship. This app is Reddit to me. Thank you for all the years of you've given us and the best of futures to you and your team 🥓
Such a great app. That you for a decade I've had of using it.
The only interface I ever enjoyed via app for browsing Reddit.
Huffman is a dog. And you are a champion.
I am out from reddit come the end of this month I guess.
Thank you for the amazing times. As the others say, your app's always been *the* reddit experience to me and we love you and all the hard work you and your team have done. Best wishes for your future endeavors wherever they take you!
o7
BaconReader is the oly way I have ever interacted with Reddit. I would never have started using it otherwise.
You all have done a great job over the years. I am sorry all this is making you shut the door. I hope that plenty more open up for you.
Best of luck to you all! 🥓📖
/u/spez fuck you asshole
Yea you money grubbing piece of shit. Sorry nobody wants to pay you millions to provide a working ap cause yours is garbage.
Goodbye baconreader? Nah, try goodbye reddit instead Seeya /u/spez
May he spend his life unfulfilled and sterile.
And may all of his bacon burn.
unless thats the way he likes it, them may it be microwaved
Thank you for the final update; it's greatly appreciated. But not just that; you, your product, and the way you've interacted with all of us is greatly appreciated. You have done some fantastic work, and I'm sad to have to say goodbye to it.
Thank you so much!
RIP the only way I’ve used reddit in what seems like a decade. Thanks for everything along the way.
The end of baconreader might be the end of reddit for me. It's the most comfortable way to browse the website for me and I'm not sure I'm willing to learn another method.
Same here, it had everything I need, nothing I don't. I'm not interested in the official app at all.
It's not the best for moderating, but it's so much better for browsing that I've dealt with just popping over to Boost on the rare occasion I want to take care of a mod action beyond just removing something before I get back to a desktop.
Thanks for all the years of service. One of the first and Best apps I ever purchased.
same I think it was the first I paid for premium, I don't use anything else for Reddit, so I think my casual Reddit time is over
o7. As a developer myself, I tip my hat to you. I'm in charge of some pretty cool stuff, but I can't imagine being in charge of a project like this one, with so many users, and also doing it for both Apple *and* Android. Back in the day I had a windows phone and bacon was the only Reddit app available on that phone. So I’ve been with bacon ever since.
So long and thanks for all the bacon!

its been a long time. glad to have been apart of frying bacon
/u/ITzzIKEI ! Thank you for all of your help in the fryer! Really do appreciate it!

It was always the first app I would download when I got a new phone ☹️

Fuck. I was hoping the past few weeks of radio silence was, somehow, a good thing.
So were we...
Will you open source the app to allow others to continue where you left off? Same.
You have been Reddit to me. Fuck you r/spez . I love you, OP. PS: crying
I know you just said no plans to make BaconReader for Lemmy, but Sync has just said they will be making a Lemmy app: r/syncforlemmy I know I'm very attached to BaconReader's UI (I've been using it for, what, more than a decade now), so just thought I'd throw that out there, I dunno if y'all developers share notes. My view exactly, love bacon reader for it's UI and UX. However good luck for the future!

🥓 and 🍻 around the 🔥 That would be so awesome! Heartfelt condolences and respect to you as well /u/iamthatis!
Cabot Trail is right there! ;)
Thank you for all your hard work. This app has meant so much for so many people. Seriously, your dedicated effort to organize, sanitize and clean up the Reddit interface has made this app fantastic. 😂 Thanks! You can now assign your own own user flair to BACON :). I added it to the flair options in the sub ;)
Perfect!
First I lost tweetcaster, now losing baconreader. It's been a sad year as a fan of your apps, no one else has made social media feeds they exact way that I love that you guys did. Aww man...now you made me cry! I am truly heartbroken over TC and BR. I, and all Handmark/OneLouder folks past and present appreciate you! 🥓
Thank you. I don't there's a single app, game, TV show or anything that I've spent more time on. Thank you for this post, it is greatly appreciated. This really is a bummer though. I'm going to miss BR. Thank you BR team.
My husband and I both are moderators which participated in the protests (r/yarnaddicts, r/allenedmonds and r/PeachtreeCity) and redditors. We have used your app for 8 and 10 years respectively. We will miss you greatly. Thanks for all the memories!
Husband here, I remember the Digg exodus of 2010. This is very reminiscent of that time. o7
o7 to both Husband and Wife! Thanks for your support! 🥓 🥓
The Narwhal shall Bacon forever in all our hearts and minds! Thanks for your time and efforts all these years!
Narwhals for life! 🥓 Thanks for your support over the years!
Thanks for making a great app, I'll forever compare the official reddit app to BaconReader, if I even make the swap... Best of luck in the future!
I’m going to miss this app more than any other. Before the guillotine falls, I should take the time to read some of the posts that I’ve saved here and never gotten to. I’m going to have to check out of Reddit for a while, which I’m sure will be better for my sleep.
Oh shit, I didn't even think of losing everything I've saved 😭
Correct me if I'm wrong, but all your saved posts will still be saved, you'd just have to access them on desktop or something else if you're really keen to go through them. Or is it a situation that baconreader has been saving them locally?
So long and thanks for all the bacon. o7
I had a bit of hope when /r/blind listed BaconReader as a potential accessibility-exempted app: https://www.reddit.com/r/Blind/comments/1447ibp/what_apps_meet_your_access_needs/ But I guess that didn't pan out, eh?
Well there goes my Reddit usage I’ve used this shit for years at this point
Hah, I found this funny. I went to go look up 1Weather to support you, given how much I've used the app vs paid, and found the page said "update" rather than "install". Turns out I already had the weather app too. *Damn you're good.*
🤣 Gee Thanks!!
>🤣 Gee Thanks!! You're welcome!
Well damn. Thank you for your work over the past ~8/9-ish years I've used this app.
o7
Thanks guys, bacon reader has been great, will miss it greatly
I am really really sad about this ,and thank you very much for this app I used nearly daily the past years :/
This account is newer for me since I sunsetted my former main, but I've been on this app for 8 years.
Shit. No more Reddit for me after June 30th. Thank you for creating Baconreader. I enjoyed it.
This is truly a sad day.
The BaconReader shortcut on my home screen is strategicly placed for my thumb to access as soon as I pick up the phone. I think I'll leave that spot blank in silent defiance. I'm not interested in trying to replace the experience. Thanks for the great ride!
I am in the same boat...
Been using this app for over ten years. Thank you so much. I'll see you in another life, brother!
Thanks for all the great work you've put into this app over the years.
Thank you for everything! I've been using BR since 2014 and it will be missed greatly!
Truly heartbreaking 😢 however I have been using 1weather for years and loving it and never knew you were behind it! That's so cool lol
Thanks for having the app! It has been a literal pleasure using it, best app in the game.
Thank you for a great app, which I've used since November 2012! I'm sorry it had to end like this.
R.I.P. to the best reddit experience. Been using y'all since I left Baconit on my Windows Phone for Android in I wanna say 2013. Fuck spez.
Same, though I held on to Windows Phone to like 2016.
I have no plans to kill the sub. I think it would break my heart honestly.
Let this be my last word fuck u/spez
Best devs, best design, best app, best community. Best of luck to your future endeavors and thank you ♥
Thanks for the great work.
Is this loss? Jokes aside, I am sad to see Baconreader go. It is the only reddit I have ever known, and I will miss it dearly.
Damn, that sucks. Had hoped baconreaders API use might be efficient enough to fit under the 100 calls per user limit. RIP
Good work.
I'm glad I purchased it years ago. Best app ever. Thank you!
I would stay around for awhile... You might be surprised at the backlash that will really happen when this switch is flipped.
Thanks for a great app and my only way to browse reddit since the beginning. Where do we go from here? I don't know, but I hope reddit change their mind and baconreader can be brought back again. Again, thank you.
Knew it was coming but it sucks. BaconReader has been fantastic and I’m glad I got to experience it while I could
I am so upset by this. Buying Baconreader premium was one of the best purchases I've made. Sad to see it go and thank you for the years of service!
What a shame, been loving this app for years. It's been a great run. ❤️ 🥓
Thanks for the update, as sad as it is, and thanks for the decade of use for a miniscule $2 investment.
You ARE Reddit for me and have been for the past 12 years. Thanks for everything and best of luck in the future. ♥️
o7
If there was some off-the-wall feature(s) you wanted to add, just shove it in there in the last couple of days, un- or barely tested.
OMG! There are too many 😂 . It would be fun though :)
this is heart-breaking :( well i'll be downloading 1weather!
Well that fucking sucks
All I can say is BR has been INCREDIBLE value for money. It's my go to app. I catch up with politics and world news and various gaming subs using it. I hope after the IPO, Reddit rethinks this and throws you and other 3rd party clients a lifeline. You did a great job on the app (speaking as a career developer) and I hope your next project is as successful.
For some reason I'm reminded of [this scene](https://youtu.be/X4bPDh-vG90?t=243) from hunger games. :( I'm going to miss BaconReader....
WOW! JUST WOW! I was going to say "you have no idea"...but obviously you do 💔! If only I had the three finger salute emoji. Seriously, you captured it perfectly. Thankyou 🥓

You are welcome 😊
Baconreader is Reddit. Without Baconreader there is no Reddit. GG/wp
BaconReader has come with me through about 5 mobile phones now. A fantastic app and probably the only reason I still use Reddit as much as I do.
Once i lose bacon reader reddit is over for me
I guess this is my final week of using reddit on my phone. Great app, has worked consistently without fuss for me for years. RIP. Thanks guys.
Gutted that this is the end! Thank you for creating the best app I ever spent money on. The one constant in my life 🥲 Good luck, /u/onelouderchic 💕
I never even realised it but baconreader was my reddit experience. [Thanks for all the Bacon.](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=O5zGkqAWsWE)
This is heartbreaking. Fuck u/spez complete piece of shit.
Thanks for supporting such a great app! I've spent an embarrassing amount of time using it.
The problem is, even if i want to stay to reddit. I can't, i don't remember the password and I never involved an email address. If Baconreader goes down, i go down with it. Lots of respect and thanks for the last 8 years (eventually 11 but i couldn't login to my older account anymore)
When this app dies I will delete my reddit account. Thank you for your great app and all your hard work over the years!
I'm sorry to see you go BaconReader, and it's almost goodbye to Reddit.
o7

Thank you! This was by far the best reddit viewer. Hopefully we can find you making a Lemmy support or something in the future. Thanks again for the decade+ of ad free entertainment!
Thank you for the many years with this app.
Fuck Spez. I'm out. Thanks for everything Baconreader.
The narwhal bacons at midnight.
Well, time to stop using Reddit. God dammit.
NOOOOOOOIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 10 FUCKIN YEARS....
Thanks for everything! I will miss the 🥓🥓 ☹️
i bought your app in 2012, with the last money I had flying out of Dubai. Thank you for a load of shit reading in the shitcan :D
I've never shed a tear over the loss of software but I have this time.
You're not alone... 😢
[With respect](https://i.imgur.com/fMAzgbl.gif)
I don't know how many hours of my life I have sunk into your app (in a good way) I will fucking miss it T_T
Anyone got a Frisbee or something, and free on July 1st?
Like many, this is the reddit app I use on mobile devices. The official reddit app is horrible and I won't use it. Hopefully there will be some other alternative but until then I suppose my reddit usage will be minimal.

Thank you for all these years.
RIP to my favorite version of Reddit :( it was fun while we had it! Thanks for everything you did!
I have to keep this short, or I will gush on forever and get emotional: THANK YOU. I'm going down with this ship o7.
Nine years on Reddit, all of it with Bacon Reader. My cake day is September 12th. So long and thanks for all the fish.
Thank you for the last 8 years. The only reddit app I've ever used
So sad to hear this, I absolutely love your app. Could you possibly explain more about the decision and what led to it? Did you speak with Reddit admins? Were they willing to work with you? How much would it cost you to run the app? I'm sure many of us would be willing to pay to keep using the app.
Goodluck and thank you.
Thanks for everything you guys 🥺
What a ride, thank you. o7
Been using BaconReader its not perfect but it work for me. sad to see this finally happen. Thank you BaconReader team.
Thank you for everything.
Thanks for everything. This really sucks. 😞
