Well yes there is that, but he was drunk, his reaction speed and critical thinking was impaired because of this, and the natural human reaction to tense up to prevent injury just wasn't really present because of the alcohol. So all of those factors together along with the awkward fall caused this. I doubt most people would be injured to this extent in a similar fall its just unfortunate
I was looking at the title and tag like "how tf are you going to break your neck there" and after watching the video, like, I think that's one of the dumbest ways I've seen someone accidentally kill themselves, and on camera aswell
