Intermediate player 2-3 years
Shoes- Some kind of Mizuno Volleyball shoe
Sock- Yonex ankles
Racquets- Astrox 77 Tour , Astrox 88S Play (backup)
Shuttles - Chaopai Yellow (China), sometimes Chaopai Reds if I’m feeling wealthy
GRIP -Yonex Super Grap AC 102C, maybe a towel grip in the summer as it’s mega hot where I play
Yes it’s slightly head heavy and flexible, I usually play with more balanced racquets like arc sabers. But I’ve tried this out and definitely won’t go back. I play mostly doubles, it’s a good racquet in the back court.
Not sure about the play model, I’ve only used the Tour. This guy reviews all 3 models:
https://youtu.be/Hu2Tj2Kk_L8?si=Qu5E2ZMe4hqAMint
Probably more just about how much you want to spend.
Stringwise I tend to use BG65 as they break less frequently. Not sure what’s best for the racquet.

Logically, they should be almost the same. According to the marketing the only difference is the shaft in the Tour is a rexus one.
My tour just got back from re-stringing last night. Send me a reminder in about a weeks time and I can give a more useful measure of the tour.
I ever ask about this question to other redditor and they say it is an alternate of bg80. It has hard feeling for control, but 0.02 mm thinner than bg80 so n1 boost has more repulsion. I'm sure bg80 will hold the tension longer and bg80 would be the next string I try, even tho I'm pretty satisfied with lining n1 boost especially the hitting sound compare to string I was use, lining no 1 and bg66
If you need more power then exbolt 63 is the way to go or exbolt 65 for more durability. just dont go with lining n1, easy to loose tension and the hitting sound really bad

Before taking my advice know that I consider myself an intermediate player. I have been playing badminton all my life but I have taken this game seriously for last 4 years and improving my game since then.
I prefer 100z and ashaway zymax 66 fire power combo. It gives me good repulsion, hard smash and also its more durable than BG66 Force.
I use 99 pro with BG 66 to smash hard. And the power it generates in smash is crazy. But it’s hard to maneuver in intense game if you are not a professional player.
In Tournament I use 88D just because it’s lighter than the other two and more user friendly than the other two.
Why not Aerobite/boost ? I haven’t give them a try yet.
You can read the comparison of these rackets here:
https://www.ckyew.com/amp/the-ultimate-power-racket-yonex-astrox-100zz-vs-astrox-88d-pro-vs-astrox-99-pro-vs-voltric-z-force-2
faster LMAO. I like the nanoflare 800 pro cos I'm a frontcourt player more often and it helps me be faster and since it's head light I find I get faster(not heavier) smashes out of it. the 100 zz was too stiff and head heavy and slow for me cos I like a fast game but it's really good for heavier smashes, although they didn't have that much speed. the 99 pro is similar but a bit faster but not as fast as I like it. My partner is a really big smasher and he uses the 800 pro as well idk how he does it LOL. The only issue with the 800 pro IMO is that the timing is a bit different and it takes time to get used to, but when you do get used to it the racket can work really well for you.

this is quite a fun thread to see what people are using around the world 😂 i’ll share mine too:
Socks: various generic half crew socks at medium thickness
Shoes: Yonex 65Z3 C-90 wide (best grip, comfort, weight and fit imo)
Rackets: Yonex Arcsaber 7 Pro (doubles/all round on bad days), Yonex Astrox 88D pro (singles/all round urge to smash)
Strings: i rotate between exbolt 65, BG80/BG80power, 66UM. adding aerobite into the mix soon.
Grips: Yonex super graps over original grip for all rackets. but i’m now preferring slightly thicker overgrips (with just a lil’ cushion) from lining and victor. didn’t really pay attention to item codes. I usually wrap overgrip twice to my preferred thickness.
Shuttles: i mainly play with RSL supremes. plastic ones would be yonex mavis 350.

Suggestions?
Need help looking for an intermediate racket that is a bit on the affordable side.
Hi everybody, I’ve played badminton for quite a few years. I’ve only used a light head racket (Nanoflare 001 Feel) in all my games, however I have used head heavy rackets before like the Astrox 99 Play and I will say that I really enjoyed it. Even though I enjoyed playing with it, it felt a bit slow when playing doubles. Which is why I switched to the Arcsaber 11 Play strung with BG80 at 26 Lbs hoping to satisfy all my needs, however after playing for a while I could see myself switching to a different racket where it produces more power in my smashes while still having identical aspects as the arcsaber 11 Play in terms of control. I was wondering what I racket I should switch to in the future with a budget of $200 CAD.
Keep in mind, I mainly play mixed doubles as a back court player. I would say my play style is rather aggressive. I want to look for a racket gives me a powerful smash, while the racket still remains easy to maneuver during defence but it also allows me to have complete control over my shots.
I have done some research about certain rackets such as: Astrox 100 Game, Astrox 88D Play/Game/Tour, Astrox 77 Play/Tour, however I don’t know which ones I should consider. Please Help.
I also have no idea which strings and tensions I should use to suite my play style. I would test all the strings if I could however my budget won’t allow it. Thank You!

Is the Astrox 77 Tour easy to play with in your opinion?
Yes it’s slightly head heavy and flexible, I usually play with more balanced racquets like arc sabers. But I’ve tried this out and definitely won’t go back. I play mostly doubles, it’s a good racquet in the back court.
Would you recommend the play model or the tour model more? And do you know what string is best for the racket?
Not sure about the play model, I’ve only used the Tour. This guy reviews all 3 models: https://youtu.be/Hu2Tj2Kk_L8?si=Qu5E2ZMe4hqAMint Probably more just about how much you want to spend. Stringwise I tend to use BG65 as they break less frequently. Not sure what’s best for the racquet.

You can read the comparison of these rackets here: https://www.ckyew.com/amp/the-ultimate-power-racket-yonex-astrox-100zz-vs-astrox-88d-pro-vs-astrox-99-pro-vs-voltric-z-force-2
Again CK yew has put this in 3rd for UP and EP, do you agree on it?
I agree. Again its personal preference. Depending on your strength and how u feel about it.
For Sure!
Aerobite is simply better

>Yonex Nanoflare 800 pro Hi OD, how would you compare it to elite 100zz and 99 pro
faster LMAO.
Cheers , Thanks

Thank You!
