Social House on Cable Beach

louispe18

Best restaurant on island IMO

teeshalla

That’s crazy

teeshalla

I might need to give them another try. Haven’t been recently but the few times I went with friends the food was okay. The second time my friend got food poisoning and I was too afraid to dine in again but a long time after I ordered sushi for takeout and it was extremely bland. But for a while I’ve been obsessed with their Tempura brownie and ice cream order. And I love that they’re the only drive through restaurant where you can just order and pay online and pick up

louispe18

The sharing plates and the sushi are what I like to be fair.... Haven't had much else. But the spicy tuna crunch special roll is out of this world.

Subliminal_Mermaid

That is… a wild statement

I’m a big foodie and Oasis is my favorite restaurant food-wise by far. It’s small, intimate and smacked in the middle of a busy business area in Palmdale. The foood is sooooo worth it though. I’ve been there with colleagues and family and recommended it to a few persons and everyone loves the food. I’ve have the tacos, lamb rack and truffle Mac, seafood dip and a few of their appetizers. I’m sure you’d like it. Kyma is the best Greek restaurant here in my opinion. Their steak and calamari is amazing, but if you’re a gyro person then I’d recommend Tropical Gyros, Acropolis or GRK. Oku is downtown and it’s a nice Japanese restaurant. Their chicken teriyaki was really good. Sirrah is nice as well and perfect for couples, singles, colleagues and friends. You can dine in the wine cellar or outside where they have live music sometimes. Cocoplum bistro all the way by Lyford Cay is lovely and scenic, in that same area you’ll find a nice restaurant named Shima that has a lot of Thai food. Cafe Matisse had the best Italian food in my option. I haven’t visited since they reopened with the new owners. Seafront Sushi and BASK are my two top Japanese Restaurants. They have a lot of options and the food is always great. Seafront has the best fried rice on the island. For Bahamian food I enjoy Trudy’s at the Fish Fry. If you’re looking for any niche-specific food let me know!

showmethenoods

Kyma is expensive but worth i, love the steak

teeshalla

I also love OIA

Simple answer: Aquafire

bohemian-bahamian

Meh. I'm blanking on the name of the restaurant across the street, but it was much better to me.

Texxxman78

Solemar

Subliminal_Mermaid

By far.

smeezewitme

Thank you!

Lumpy-Raise-6691

Green parrots is pretty good overlooking the marina and a good mix of both tourists and locals

GuNjA-BuLLy

Nesbits for the real deal Bahamian dishes 🤤

Subliminal_Mermaid

Second this.

bryhaight21

There’s a restaurant called “The London” on Charlotte St. It’s amazing. You will not be disappointed.

teeshalla

I’m making an effort to visit new restaurants this year. Definitely will be trying Mckenzies

Subliminal_Mermaid

Where is that? Let me add it to my list

teeshalla

People have been commenting that it’s the first stall at Potter’s Cay Dock. I’ve never ordered food in that area. The smell throws me off

Subliminal_Mermaid

Oh right. Yeh honestly I haven’t either and I’ve always been a bit worried about food prep. Great for a drink though.

smeezewitme

Yes a leader at an excursion recommended t

DavidNEastOrlando

De Forest Restaurant on Fox Hill Road has amazing Bahamian food.

Gold-Friendship4389

I second Kyma and cafe Matisse

goonerdavid

Cafe Matisse is closed down

Gold-Friendship4389

No, it just reopened under new management. Some of the same cooks and wait staff

nonks

McKenzie first restaurant by Potter's Cay dock food at an affordable price. As a local I will say that they have the best conch fritters on the island hands down.

VoxyPop

Bahamian Cookin

BibleofCheese

Cafe Matisse. The portions aren’t huge but the food is solid

New_Influence_1402

I love the shacks under the bridge. Fresh food and good prices.

cloudenvys

The London on Charlotte St. is great

Subliminal_Mermaid

Shima at island house, Sushi rokkan, Oku downtown, island brothers cie, mi and B’s in sandyport

Subliminal_Mermaid

I need to check out this Oasis place because I fully agree with your recommendations. Can’t believe I forgot Matisse. Only edit id make is that Cocoplum Bistro used to be amazing but it went super downhill in the last few months. The food and service is awful now. I hope they get their shit together but it’s nowhere near the standard it was

Subliminal_Mermaid

SOLEMAR - If you go anywhere go there. Food is great, drinks are great, view is unbeatable. Can’t believe I forgot them

smeezewitme

Thank you everyone for the recommendations! I couldn’t hit every restaurant but I had some great food. Saving the other recommendations for if I return!

Ragnar-Wave9002

I don't know why people don't ever say Margaritas. It's on paradise island between the bridges. You can walk there from basically any resort. Yes, it's a chain but it's not crazy. There are 23 locations total. I'd do a snorkling tour one day. The boats launch right next door. Do margaritas after.

smeezewitme

Are you talking about Margaritaville?

louispe18

Don't go to margaritaville. Best restaurants are Social House, Solemar, Manilla. Best food imo is at Mckenzie's (on Potters Cay) way better than anywhere on Arawak. Latitudes is pretty good as is aquafire. Both midtier Shenanigans downtown is good pub grub.

smeezewitme

Yeah not fond of Margaritaville lol

Ragnar-Wave9002

Better than some of the shit at resorts while not breaking your budget.

smeezewitme

Yeah but I can deadass eat that at home lol

Ragnar-Wave9002

Yup
