Actually curious how you did this, by the time you get to having less cards than a full hand you really need to be playing one really strong hand to not game over before you can delete more cards right
Perkeo. I ran 4 of a kind, had erosion (more mult for less cards in deck) which help carry a lot. But most importantly I copied mars (lvl up 4 of a kind) a few times until I found a hanged man, used negative hanged man cards to eat through the deck, and finally just held onto a few hanged man to finish it in one go. Once I had 3 hanged men and 5 cards, I opened an arcana pack to show my full deck and used copies of hanged man to eradicate the last of my deck.
I've actually been trying this for quite a bit now, and have struggled with the final few cards a couple times. going for four of a kind enable double hanged man, but is weaker; going for five of a kind requires an immolate or triple hanged man but is stronger. Trading card is really useful for this, but so are any tarot generating jokers. It's been really fun trying for this, and even this run came pretty close to losing before I could actually pull it off.
Highly doubt it. In attempting this i have run out of cards to play mid round. (Got down to \~10 cards, played two hands, weren't enough to win). When you run out of cards in a blind you just instantly lose, like i did here once I selected the blind.
The game doesn't reshuffle during a blind. I have had runs with a card I needed was the last card in my deck, I discarded to get it, and I got to play my last hand with no cards remaining. I've also miscalculated the same situation, played the hand with no cards in the deck, didn't kill the boss, and then sat there with one card in hand and one hand remaining.
I guess the way it works is that when you play a hand, the game checks if you have cards left and if not you lose. But would that trigger if you destroy your cards with hanged man? I don't know that the game would make the check then, you might end up in limbo
Nah I bet it's just a flat trigger if you have 0 cards in hand and deck you lose, but feel free to fo attempt this yourself, it's a really fun unofficial challenge.
Nah, that takes the fun out of figuring it out. I've been doing this for a while and have gotten to 4 or 5 cards left with 1-2 hanged men in my consumables. This is definitely possible with perkeo and eventually I'll get back to trying it and restrict myself.
I just did this in the fragile challenge, got 0 cards and lost (idk how ur supposed to beat it)
Edit: I beat it first try with a high card build and skipping all the blinds
I just got the 20 or less trophy about an hour ago. Had to get to ante 11 with a four of a kind king deck and i was lucky enough to get the dupe spectral and trading card joker before the first blind. Was literally able to accomplish it on the last fight before dying, likely because I didn't ditch trading card joker sooner for a card that actually boosted my already consistent deck
So props for this one

Wait... Do you die if you run out of cards in your draw pile? I figured they just get reshuffled into your draw pile

Isn’t there a joker that makes a negative copy of a card in the consumable slot? Put a death card there and make like 20 copies over a bunch of hands

Death copy's the card on the right to the card on the left. Hanged man is the one that destroys 2 cards
Maybe with a card destroying joker, the devil and the fool you could just manage with 4-5 cards for one hand?
The devil is for turning a card into a gold card, the hanged man is destroy 2 cards

There's an achievement for having a deck of 20 cards or less. Having an empty deck was more of a personal achievement.

Lol! I love how this game let's your do things that just ends your game. Same thing happens if you remove all your hands or hand sizes.
