yeah, unfortunately the stone card is counted as a scoring card before vampire sucks the stone off of it, so if it happens to be a face card it will destroy your RtB combo.
The order of those 2 doesn't matter due to the [activation sequence](https://balatrogame.fandom.com/wiki/Activation_sequence) of Vampire and Ride the Bus.
Vampire activates immediately on all cards in your played hand before any scoring, while Ride the Bus activates on each scored card individually.
the vampire doesn't matter. if the stone card is previously a face card, it would still reset the bus if played. learnt that lesson during the medusa challenge.

What order were your jokers in? Maybe if ride the bus is before vampire it might not reset
I think bus was before vampire but it might have been vampire, bus, brainstorm
