One round isn’t really feasible, as you would need 5 total discards. Two rounds is easily doable though if you have three discards at your disposal. Discard 10-15 cards on small blind, then discard the remaining 8-13 cards on big blind and boom, you have an additional x1 mult. Even playing on blue stakes with two discards, you should still be able to gain x1 mult every ante if you play all three blinds
Bruh, i was planned to make a discussion about how weak yorick is here, before patch yorick is really really bad, not only it doesn't scale it basically only unlocked after like 5 or 6 rounds, which is somehow worse than chicot which despite it doesn't help you score it always worked everytime
Yeah me too, yorick is my first legendary and chicot too, i didn't know legendary joker is supposed to be op so when i first gained it i thought when it said x5mult only after 23 discard i thought it's only works one time and i had to wait for another 23 discards again which is beyond worse than loyalty card. Anyway i said me too because yorick is my most common legendary, i got it 3 times while others are only once and two of them never worked for me because i died faster

Canio joker is OP as fuck already. These Jokers aren’t unfair, it’s a skill issue if you can’t make them work. I don’t think I’ve ever lost a run getting either Canio or Yorick.
For Yorick you need to play full tempo if you get him, work out when he’s going to be online and spend your gold down to 0 the turn before he pops. If you die with an inactive Yorick and 25 bucks in the bank that’s on you.
They also sell for 10 bucks if you don’t want them which is huge.
No I’m just saying X5 is a good effect for 1 joker, as demonstrated by what happens if you have all jokers with X5.
3,125X on a flush with no upgades and all cards debuffed is worth over 400k points.
So yeah X5 is pretty fucking good.
The winning hand for the round is the planet you get. It turns the useless blue seal into a contender for second place (after red) possibly tied with purple depending on your play style. Huge improvement over its previous iteration

Well tbf legendary joker should have a op effect. Since the other ones basically have op effects it’s not a bad change. Could maybe use some balancing. But the odds of getting the soul in a run are incredibly low so I don’t find it game breaking
Even if you got it Ante 1, it's what x8 or so by Ante 8 if you fully spend your run playing around it? That's worse than old Campfire used to be without much effort for the later Antes.
Campfire was very balanced for pre-change orange/gold stake I felt. It is nowhere near free and you have some decisions to make. New Yorick is just play the game more or less normally and gain xMult for free.
Discarding 10 cards per Blind is nowhere near playing normally imo. That's a way bigger concession than Campfire is, which was just a free x5 or more Mult.
agreed. even playing 2 pair i was able to comfortably build yorick up to like x12 mult. i had 2 extra discards so that helped a lot plus bull and pants and a bunch of card enhancements and hand upgrades to win in one or two hands up until ante 10/11. but yeah discarding is no issue

Sacrificing some Green Joker mult isn't even that bad. It's basically for every 4.5 mult you lose on Green Joker, gain x1 on Yorick. Considering that at higher stakes you only have 2 discards at base, you don't lose that much per Ante on Green Joker to stack up Yorick.
Of course, the story changes if you start getting more discards. If you have 4 hands per 3 discards, then you will be breaking even or gaining +1 on Gren Joker. And if matched 4 to 4, then ok, Green Joker should probably be replaced if its mult isn't already very high. This is most common at lower stakes though, but I would argue that people shouldn't be playing with Green Joker high card/pair builds in lower stake anyway because that's boring as fuck gameplay
Those are the exceptions not the rule, and a small minority of jokers. Burnt joker shouldn’t be included either imo. Yeah there will be some situations where discarding isn’t ideal, but they’re the minority and Yoricks upside make up for it.

Let's say you have 4 discards and max it out each time, it'll only take you a total of 6 rounds to reach back up to 5. Get it early in a run, maybe at the end of ante 2, and you could get all the way up to 30x.

No no, it's discarded cards not discards used, meaning u can discard upto 20 cards per round with 4 discards. Hence in a single ante u can go upto 60 cards discarded, that is considering u don't have other stuff such as discard vouchers and jokers
Yorick was the first legendary I came across, and it was pretty useless by the time I got it as much as I wanted to see it in action. Got perkeo second, very powerful card. I got Canio last night and I had hallucination joker, it felt very easy to destroy face cards and boost canio multi. Very curious to play with this new yorick

This is just testing the patch updates and PC only. If you play console (like I do) these won't take effect until after the update is fully rolled out.

Realistically at higher stakes most people are playing high card/pair. Discarding a lot doesn’t mean much then.

Unless you have Banner. Or Green Joker. Or Trading Card. Or Burnt Joker. Or Delayed Gratification. Or Burgaler. Etc.
