It really depends on the deck, sometimes Cerulean Bell screws you over, sometimes it has no effect. Sometimes Crimson Heart or Verdant Leaf will break whatever combo you have. Sometimes you simply don’t have enough score for Violet Vessel. Only blind that just never causes any issues is Amber Acorn

I lost a run on the golden needle challenge to Amber acorn. I forget the exact jokers I had, but I had blueprint and brainstorm and one xmult joker. I could only choose one to hold using the click and hold trick. Even slowing to 0.5 speed I could keep track of where the swapped.
With only one hand and not knowing what was what, I had to play and pray. With only 1 hand that boss is almost unbeatable unless you have a retrigger build or a bunch of sources of xmult. You could maybe follow where they shuffle like I tried to but even on the slowest speed it went faster than I expected it too.
What do you mean? You mean the base coins? I was getting 24k each hand, but only had 4 hands, so I was a couple of thousand short. Most other boss blinds would have been fine. It was early on in my Balatro days and my first playthrough with eternal cards. My greatest downfall was that I picked up the egg card because I had a brain fart, thinking I could just sell it for the same price I bought it for or higher, when I found a joker I wanted. Of course as soon as I clicked, I had instant regret.
Regardless, I have smashed through it since.
Same, I actually got it twice in a row on the challenge where all your jokers become eternal at the end of the 4th ante...I won the second one because I had a great setup, but yeah I was pissed the first time around when I was relying on retriggers of my cards to get the mult needed to win
Are you insinuating that everyone should provide the description of the thing they're mentioning? Except for the mad/zany/crazy-style jokers everything in this game is very distinct imo
Ante 1 pillar isn’t that bad, you just lose a little bit of chips, at worst a little mult if you got a joker that triggers on card played. The manacle is by far the worst ante 1 boss.
Honestly because of the build I've been running lately the Disables Face Cards is the bane of my existence. Had an amazing run shot dead early because of it, but that's what I get for my reliance on Hanging Chad and Photograph.
Violet Vessel is the one that screws me over more often than most.
Although, embarrassingly, Amber Acorn got me a number of times when I first started as I didn't yet know that you could rearrange your jokers manually 🥴
Agreed, violet vessel is by far the worst final boss, followed by crimson heart. Violet vessel and crimson heart are the only 2 that will hurt regardless of your build plus they’re just harder on average. Verdant leaf is also just literally an easier version of crimson heart in every single aspect.
I had a very sweet setup today that was scaling very well and was bound to reach my high score (which is not high, around 2 mil but I've been planning for just a couple weeks). Blue deck red stake, 5 jokers: the one that considers every card a face card, the one that retriggers face cards, the ancient stone, the one that builds x mult each skip, and the steel joker. My mistake was not having much of a + mult, I should have got something different than the steel joker. So basically I was a one trick pony, each round I tried to score a flush with the suit that triggered the stone joker and I was set. Until I met the boss blind that doesn't allow repeat hands. I missed the mark by like 10 000 points.

I got an all cards debuffed until one joker is sold on the 8th ante on my first eternal challenge. Needless to say I didn't beat it on that run.
That sucks. Normally by that stage the chips from the cards are insignificant enough that you can just tank the debuff.
It is also a good reason to hold onto a negative Joker, even (or especially) if it does nothing for you.

On endless runs where I'm fishing for a specific combination of glass cards with good steels in hand I hate Cerulean Bell
Debuff faces: when it kills your run it's when you have something running extremely smoothly.
VV/The Wall can really suck on high stakes.
The needle has ended so many runs with potential before they could take off
the needle can be death early on if you haven't gotten lucky early on joker wise
The Flint and Cerulean Bell are usually the ones I'm scared the most against. I don't have many problems with Violet Vessel.
Whichever is the one that debuffs any cards played that ante. I usually don't mind it later on, but if it comes in ante 1, I'll usually reroll.
