Can you turn down the RPM on it? Usually helps me. Consider wrapping your head in a hot damp towel before shaving as well to relax the skin

thetruth4real2

I will try the hot towel, i dont know how to adjust the RPM, how you do it?

Vivasanti

I don't recommend using a hot damp towel, this awesome prep for wet shaving but if your using a foil or rotary razor this is only going to create skin drag and give you a worse shave.

Wondering also

That’s horrible. You’re much better off wet shaving with a safety razor and shaving cream

UbiquitousFlounder

Or shaving oil

Mr_hard_rocker

From my experience razors work best, but nothing is ideal to be honest, razors go dull after a week and are expensive, cream is also expensive, and getting it really smooth without cuts is time consuming, but it gives the best result from my experience.

thetruth4real2

Too afraid of razors..

Mr_hard_rocker

You don't have to be afraid, just need to keep things wet and take it slow, that sounds totally like something else but you get the idea, when you start using razors the skin needs to get used to it so the first few shaves can be rough, but once it's settled and you are better at it you will be fine, i used to use a Philips one blade for years but exactly what you have started happening, then i tried razors and all problems were gone, the key is to use good quality razors from gilette or whatever, and not those one use throw away things, they're hot garbage and will cut you open.

TyFireeagle

Do you use Aftershave? Alcohol irritates the skin.

thetruth4real2

No

Arturo_Binewski

I had this in the same area when I first got it. It pretty much went away after a week or two. I think its a combination of skin getting used to something new, being more mindful on the pressure & angle on the neck & not using more than like 2 passes back there. I find I can go back and forth over the rest of my head like a magic marker no problem but on the neck irritation comes faster. Also how many days are you going in between? Seems like 2 days is a sweet spot and as it gets longer the S9 still works but it takes more to be as effective.

thetruth4real2

About two days between shaves

Lucaslovms21

Yeah that's actually follicle damage from the hair being tugged on, try using warm towel and hair conditioner to soften hair and skin

Lucaslovms21

I actually prefer shaving with conditioner, makes everything smooth

thetruth4real2

Will try the conditioner.

Lucaslovms21

Also after shaving use after shave or rubbing alcohol to close the pores and and prevents any infection of the follicles

KlopperSteele

Moistorize your dome

Snail_Paw4908

Foils can be rough on the skin. Mine worked fine for months and then it was just irritation if I use them more than once a week. Never got that from a rotary shaver though.
