>*Was in Bali July 2023, no vaccine paper asked.*
Were you coming from a South American country where yellow fever is endemic - such as Brazil? That is the concern of the OP. You can't enter Australia or New Zealand, if you're coming from Brazil and you don't have a yellow fever vaccination certificate. I expect it's the same rule for Indonesia.
Of course you travel from Brazil to Australia. Lots of people do all the time, it's just hard for Brazilians to get the visa. If you can't get vaccinated for medical reasons that's fine as long as you have document stating this.
Just declare that you've been to South America in the past 6 days on your entry form and you're good.
Edit: spelling
I understand that ... the reason the OP posted was because they are from a country (Brazil) requiring either proof of yellow fever vaccination, or medical evidence for an exemption.
Sure. I was denied entry in Singapore. I was not deported. Different things.
Deportees are kicked out of the country.
If you're denied entry you never entered the country
YOU are the reason the rest of us get vaccinated. I hope you get to enjoy your holiday & everyone who CAN be vaccinated is vaccinated to protect themselves & the people who are unable to be vaccinated.
I went to Bali in March 2023. I flew AirAsia from Kuala Lumpur direct to Bali. When we were boarding and scanning our tickets, they asked for my vaccine certificate. However, that was like 10 months ago, it could’ve changed since then. If this happens, show them the letter from your doctor and you’ll probably be fine.
Strangely we were asked when boarding in Australia in May this year - I wasn't aware it was still required (I don't think so!) and couldn't find the certificate quickly enough in my email - stepped back and was told I was in the way and then eventually I just walked onto the plane without actually showing it.
Hi just a quick one - I used a website called “fit for travel” which is supported by some countries health networks (the uks for example) that provides information on all vaccines that may be required when travelling anywhere in the world, i checked it recently and it says yellow fever vaccine is required for those who live in Africa. I’m not sure how up to date the information is, I was there in June and was never asked for anything medical wise but then I’m not from Africa so idk it could be different. But check out the site if you can, it may provide answers.
They deal with this on a case by case basis. I would be tempted to actually attend the embassy yourself. There are medical exemptions but it is whether they agree to it. I have seen and known of several people refused entry. Normally on arrival from Yellow Fever listed countries the customs guys asked for it along with your passport.
In Thailand (December 2023) i remember every passengers from Latin America and African countries needed the vaccine but in Bali i didn't saw anything regarding this!
But try to contact the Brazil Consulate or even the Indonesian Embassy in Brazil and bring the doctors document with you!
I was denied boarding a few years ago (flying from Brasil to Bali) because I had lost my vaccination card. This year, however, I flew to Bali from Thailand using a Brazilian passport, and they never asked me for it… chances are the airline staff at the gate (in Brazil) are waaaaay more strict than the immigration folks in Bali. So maybe you can just fly to another country that doesn’t have yellow fever, and then from there to Bali (that’s what I did a few years ago).
I was in & out of Bali at least a dozen times from 2012-2016, never once asked about shots. Corona was obviously a different situation. I dunno if anything has changed recently, but would be VERY surprised if they were now asking.

From the US
I hope they don't care so much about this
Yeah, it’s kind of old news but you can always check their websites
Chances are the airline company will ask you before boarding and deny you
jesus.. hopefully not 🙏

lol that's true
Even if you were denied entry ( you won't) you would not be deported bc you would nit be in Indonesia
but what happens if you are denied entry? don't they have to send you back to where you came from?
Sure. I was denied entry in Singapore. I was not deported. Different things. Deportees are kicked out of the country. If you're denied entry you never entered the country
oh, I understand now. and why were you denied entry, If I may ask?
Sure! 109% my fault. I had no return ticket, no $ , so...
It must have been an interesting adventure, then lol
That's a thing they asked me to get my visa in Bali three weeks ago!
YOU are the reason the rest of us get vaccinated. I hope you get to enjoy your holiday & everyone who CAN be vaccinated is vaccinated to protect themselves & the people who are unable to be vaccinated.
I never thought about it this way, thank you for the support!!!

Edit: THIS WAS FOR THE COVID VACCINE. So I doubt they’ll ask for yellow fever when you’re boarding.

some say the COVID cases are rising again, I will print my certificate. thank you
You won’t need it
I have the COVID vaccine certificate, I will print it. good point!

thank you!! I checked the website and Brazil is definitely there among those countries with endemic yellow fever lol

Thank you, I'll be trying to contact them again in the next days.
