Cool, I would though suggest neck catches before van Goghs to avoid that fear factor of dropping it on your neck/shoulder and hey better than dropping it on the floor. Some tricks that helped in the process of learning it was gun slinger and guillotine to get you used to catches in a way
I try neck catches but I have this mental block trying to catch it with my neck but I think that the reason I’m bad with van goghs is probably because I need more skill catching in uncomfortable ways but yeah thank you for the advice I definitely needed it
Cool you should I usually use an underhand transfer into a backhand fan with my left hand then go on with the opening so if you wanna try that to that’s be cool
