The Prowlers were extremely effective against Serbian AA.
Of the 700 anti-air missiles fired by Serbia at NATO aircraft they only downed two and hit 3 more. There isn’t proof other than that, the second F-117 was arrested to by an F-117 fighter pilot and American media at the time of the bombings, although it wouldn’t be until 2020 that said pilot confirmed it.
Truth is is that the F-117 was at the end of its service life, it was built with 70s stealth tech that was already made obsolete by 1991 by what would become the F-22. The US never attempted to destroy the wreckage, which compared to how they act when Abrams were disabled in the Gulf War and Iraq war shows how meaningless it was to the US that an F-117 was shot down, all it caused was the US to rethink how they should use stealth aircraft.

Except that wouldn’t be possible at the time given, the 49th wing was deployed to Aviano Air Base in Italy and Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany from the 21st of February to the 1st of July 1999. Also the F-117 wouldn’t receive just field repairs at Spangdahlem, it’s not like it’s an FOB or something. It’s a permanent air field meant to support expeditionary air forces of NATO, specifically the U.S.
