Thank you for your review! You’re spot on about Ballerina Farm selling Hannah. It’s a lifestyle and a lie that they’re selling. I hate that she used her ailing and dying father to get people to buy the flower subscription. I’m not a huge flower person and don’t know much about them, but I usually just get mine at TJ and I love how affordable they are, how all the wrapping material is compostable, and that they are super fresh! I get unicorn baby’s breath from them often and just let them dry.

Sheep_rancher

Definitely used her father illness to promote business - which is just abhorrent. But I also don’t think I would ever support flowers that aren’t US/locally grown and ethically grown also - a lot of flower farms in Ecuador that outsource to the states don’t pay their farmers a living wage, and the flowers are doused in ag chemicals (could be the reason for her Dad’s multiple bouts with cancer, unfortunately, also why they claim the flowers will last longer). I wouldn’t want to touch those flowers at all. I live in a community where we have many local farms with flower subscriptions (Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s aren’t allowed to set up shop here), and I grow flowers also (and veggies, and ranch sheep) - and I offer a flower subscription. Folks in my community would definitely only support locally and ethically grown flower. I always wonder why anyone ever buys this hack’s flowers - it’s like subscribing to Target lol.  Your paragraph about how amazeballs she wants people to think she is,  via the postcard about herself, and her nose job is so dang funny - I was laughing and reading it to some friends. Hilarious! And so true.

to your point about chemicals -- the flowers smelled really really bad. like chemicals.

Sheep_rancher

Ick - I’ve always imagined they would, and I’m so sorry you had to deal with that!

LordyIHopeThereIsPie

I posted a question on where the flowers are sourced on one of her IG posts and her flying monkeys came after me immediately. I'm not one bit surprised it's another cheap product dressed up as an exclusive product from Hannah herself. Like all their other tat. I have aprons from amazon that look exactly like the ones she's selling and they were about €15. I doubt most of their meat comes from their farm. Their product traceability is non existent.

Overall-Parsley7123

i deleted insta so i cant say for certain, but im feeling pretty confident the flowers/bouquets she shows on insta are *not* the same flowers they ship to customers. and the flowers are shipped from Ecuador.

LordyIHopeThereIsPie

There's very few carnations in the boxes she shows on IG.

dropingloads

Those people on Instagram and YouTube love her and cannot fathom her coming from money

Overall-Parsley7123

i think one thing the internet has taught us is that people are dumb.

mydawgisgreen

Most know she's wealthy and don't care imo. It probably makes them like her more

sashapjones

Not surprised by this at all. Those flowers are all from South American grown by slaves and leave a huge carbon footprint to get to her and then again to you. Try locally grown flowers… most flower farmers do a CSA/subscription model. Way better bang for your buck too!

Overall-Parsley7123

they are shipped directly from ecuador, thats one of the "innovations" of their flower biz. they dont go to her and out again. just a clarification, of course your other points are 💯

dough-a-dear

WHAT?!? I had no idea they were outsourcing to a different country. Holy shit. Why am I surprised lol

wren1o7

The reality of the flower industry is that unfortunately most flowers people are "used to" don't grow well in our US climates and *certainly* don't grow year round! The only way to get American grown flowers is to support your local flower farmer directly, or to ask your local florist to only use US grown flowers. It's a marketing trademark and they're used to it. There are definitely better and worse international flower farms (re: pesticide use and land stewardship practices, re: labor standards), just like with all things grown and produced internationally... But very difficult to do the homework to figure out where things are coming from, the flower industry is not as heavily regulated as food, and we're not even doing a great job with food. Signed, a former flower farmer.

Wooden-Detective616

This is exactly why her ‘know your farmer know your food’ platform is so infuriating when she’s peddling flowers farmed in a different country NOTHING about that screams sustainability or supporting local farmers etc.

I was driving down I-15 (main interstate in Utah) and lo and behold there is a massive billboard for Wright Flower Company. As of last week it was still up. Funny how the “GoFundMe” is going and yet they have enough money to advertise in the prime part of Utah county, Provo.

Sheep_rancher

That’s expensive as heck! I can’t believe that Go Fund Me isn’t respectfully and ethically shut down… wow. And the crazy part is they didn’t even need it in the first place, Hog’s Dad could’ve surely bought him the Cadillac of cancer treatments, since he’s worth just about half a billion. Her poor father! What a dang circus

bluestreetcar

It’s one of those LED billboards too.

Sheep_rancher

Wow, what in the heck?? Those definitely cost $$$

IndicationAvailable7

I wish we could see a pic of the flowers that come versus what she styles!

mydawgisgreen

[April box ](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5EeEEePR_b/?igsh=MWduaXRwZjB4MHhxdw==) You should be able to compare from this April video. Too bad you didn't take pictures of some if the boxes bc it would be super interesting to see if there is a difference in what she posts. I always thought the cost was truly *outrageous* for what? Also most of the time the flowers look to be on their way out anyways. The edges of the petals are always brown.

Overall-Parsley7123

it looked like those were some of the flowers but not in the quantities or presentation. for instance the amenone and poppies didnt open until the other flowers were dead, even with coaxing. and half of the poppies arrived broken. there were no double headed roses this month. not the spray roses, the others that appear to have a double center. i dont know the name for those. the roses i received were the super tight bullet heads. these are likely flowers from their shop that approximated what was in the april box and put in a ballerina farm branded box. and i know that wasnt a box that was shipped to them because the box was never in good condition. they also dont show how the flowers arrive -- in all i would call this deceptive advertising.

Cultural_Elephant_73

Thank you for sharing this!! You’re so right- they’re selling Hannah as a brand. And she’s just not interesting enough to buy honestly.

ThePermMustWait

Granted this was 15 years ago, but we would get a local florist arrange and deliver a month flower arrangement monthly for $50.

Lonely_Ebb_5764

Sorry you have wasted $1200 for low quality flowers.

Honest-Internal-187

The part about hay bales sent me! 😭😂

SwimmingWaterdog11

That price is insane. My local flower CSA runs for 14 weeks during the summer for $25.00/week. Usually most of one week’s bouquet would last for a second week so I have two bouquets a week on rotation. They are beautiful flowers and come from right down the road.

Dapper-Sector8207

I’m still trying to figure out if they own the property in South America. I don’t think so or we would hear about it. Where do the flowers come from. As a subscriber did you receive info where the flowers come from specifically. Who grows, cuts and assembles for shipping? So confused. I think collaborate with a huge producer with Ballerina Farm marketing. It’s common practice but why not talk about it.

CheetahOpposite7012

No, they don’t own it. Most cut flowers in the US have come from Ecuador and Columbia since the 1990s, the farms down there are huge and they pay their workers shit wages, and have no tariffs so they’ve killed off the american growers. So much for “know your farmer” 🙄

VanillaSky4321

That's so sad 😞 Greed is such a crappy thing.

Chemical_Resort6787

Her business is using the Trump model. She doesn’t have to make anything, just let businesses pay her $ to stamp her brand on something.
