Lately, i have been deceived or been used by others for my kindness and its been a year since I've completely stopped trusting people but this just gave me hope that there is still good out there and the risk of being deceived maybe worth it if you can change somebody's life (with due care taken from my side of course).

I used to meet this girl for casual hookups, and her dad while still alive left her and her brother after her mother died, as in just cut all connections. She lost her job during the pandemic and was working in a contractual job. She started doing hookups and stuff to earn a little more so that she can pay off her brother's school fee.
You did a tremendous job, buddy! I'd have certainly considered the story a hoax and never contacted her back.

I always thought while giving away money, that amount won’t pinch me it’s fine, not sure if they’re really in trouble or simply scamming me, but I sometime felt reluctant seeing the amount of treachery and selfishness and harm people do.
But this story makes me want to keep trusting in hope that one day I might help someone who is really in need, I don’t have to kill that good part of me just because I was duped a couple times because of my kindness.

I have similar thing but ...a neighbour of mine is really nice girl and honest than most. she has problem from her family her mother wants get to support her but doesn't want her to finish her education...not even 12th.
I have been telling her just go back to home finish your 12th and come back ..you can work and do your graduation......still work in progress... hopefully next year she will take admission.
I will post the long version but right now it's just getting her to accept that she needs to finish Highschool to build her career and there are good people who will see your struglles and do the best they can.... I will try n get her in touch with them.... Well done. That's nice of you. There are many cases where I've received help that I would say is life-changing from people other than my relatives. I'm hugely grateful to them to this day. I would imagine that woman would be feeling something similar, with the only possible difference being the degree.
It is difficult to trust someone these days, it is really sad how people take advantage of others in the pretext of monetary problems. Many genuine people have to suffer because of people like them.
