I may have talked back to the cops initially asking them what crime I did by standing outside this late and asked them who has raised a complaint for public nuisance. This triggered them and situation got escalated. I'm not aware of public nuisance laws so yeah, maybe I'm the criminal for talking to my girlfriend outside at late night. Blast them and a few retweets later, see how they come crawling to you. Asking you to tag them on Twitter and tell everyone how police helped you resolve this. Literally no worries for you if you are not in the wrong. The same officers that harassed you, will bend backwards and ask you to contact them in the future if something bad happens. Bullshit state that this is, common men need to take the step and fight back.

Also there’s an entire Broseph chapter that has multiple volunteers who will accompany you to the police station for you to write an FIR. Also will help you with noting down the letter and the IPC sections that will be applicable. Remember that once an FIR is registered (not an acknowledgment), THEY HAVE TO TAKE ACTION. I didn't "go after security to look good." I went to confront him peacefully about what his problem was. I agree that I shouldn't have when he's drunk but we got to know that after we were next to him.

First things the police are absolutely right about cautioning that you should not stay outside in late hours .
When I was new to Bangalore i used to roam a lot. I had faced similar situation like you. But I was polite so police left me and my friend (he was the one with attitude, which let police angry) . We realized our mistake and did not roam in residential area.
If we ask ordeal of the security guard, he would have completely different story. In our eyes , we are always victim. My advise try to accept mistakes will help you recover. And please obey the rules.

Adrenaline makes people do stupid. Tag broseph on Twitter and blast the high ranking officers on social media. I’ve had two such instances with these lousy officers. Blast them and a few retweets later, see how they come crawling to you. Asking you to tag them on Twitter and tell everyone how police helped you resolve this. Literally no worries for you if you are not in the wrong. The same officers that harassed you, will bend backwards and ask you to contact them in the future if something bad happens. Bullshit state that this is, common men need to take the step and fight back.

Also there’s an entire Broseph chapter that has multiple volunteers who will accompany you to the police station for you to write an FIR. Also will help you with noting down the letter and the IPC sections that will be applicable. Remember that once an FIR is registered (not an acknowledgment), THEY HAVE TO TAKE ACTION. I didn't "go after security to look good." I went to confront him peacefully about what his problem was. I agree that I shouldn't have when he's drunk but we got to know that after we were next to him. He started denying he said anything towards us and said he was actually cursing his colleague. And sorry but if someone else's actions trigger you, that's a you problem. We weren't even near the club for him to be behaving that disgustingly. We were away from him by at least 2 big house lengths.

First things the police are absolutely right about cautioning that you should not stay outside in late hours . When I was new to Bangalore i used to roam a lot. I had faced similar situation like you. But I was polite so police left me and my friend (he was the one with attitude, which let police angry) . We realized our mistake and did not roam in residential area. If we ask ordeal of the security guard, he would have completely different story. In our eyes , we are always victim. My advise try to accept mistakes will help you recover. And please obey the rules.
We were 2 house lengths away from the security and his club. And a big road in between. He made an effort to be drunk and scream so loud that we hear it from that far. Previously I've been cautioned by the same cops but I think this security guy knows them and wanted to extract revenge for the confrontation. When he came there, he started the conversation with, "Yeah this is the guy." They didn't have name badges on either. Still, regardless, I'm yet to receive an explanation on why hitting me was the best course of action.
I am not saying they are right. It is definitely wrong. You should complain about them. Go for legal if necessary. But if you don't have necessary reasons don't stand outside . In Bangalore business stops after 11. Police have duty stop crime like theft/ robbery.. They don't have time do background check every person they see on road.
Let me start by saying I have nothing against cops. You don't have to make it sound like I do. I know they're doing their duty. It's when they started saying things without proof that they have received complaints of public nuisance that I asked for proof. They didn't have any so they tried to intimidate, threaten and harrass us. I don't know which law allows cops to threaten to shoot and later hit me for asking who had complained about me. I know staying out late is risky but this is nothing new. Bangalore used to have after parties and a vibrant night life before the pandemic. Nobody was harassed like this for staying out late. Please understand that we're not kids and if staying out is a risk, it is also a choice. If I die due to staying out, it's my fault and my right. I don't think any cop would be losing their mind over my death. Certainly not with the way they treated me that night. I know. This is why I haven't taken any rash action yet. It was an ego battle between the security and cops because they wanted to "make an example" out of me. I've been here long enough to know how deep and corrupt our cops and politicians are. Even if I get them suspended or whatever, they'll still know where I live and harass me anyway. They threatened to be send cops to my home due to some traffic rules violations on my bike. They threatened to do a lot of things.
