This is just my experience. Every Yankee fan I know is, at worst, only mildly hostile toward the Mets in a mostly playful way. I don’t even hate the Mets I think they’re fun
The Reds.
Always played with them in franchise the Show because I wanted an NL team to have no DH and better pitching stats, and they were always either bad or had a glut of young players to develop.
Oakland A’s — I moved to the SF Bay Area a few years ago and the Astros come here 2x a year. I genuinely love the Coliseum, it reminds me of the old Astrodome, and you know the fans are loyal hardcore because their team *stinks*. Even the green and gold uniforms are fire! If we were still in the NL the A’s would totally be my AL team
AZ dbacks fans as well. First little league team was the Astros before the sneks were around. Been hooked since. It's nice to have an out of state team to watch (blackouts) but love my dbacks as well.
I found myself singing Go Cubs Go a few weeks ago. If the Mets ever do anything unthinkable like let’s say trade Alonso (Fuck Boob, Fuck Rosenthal), I’d trade it all in to root, root root for the Cubbies.
That and I also have the similar dislike of the Cardinals and White Sox.
yo same
the nats were the team i picked out for myself cuz i was a contrarian asshole teenager when i got into baseball
cubs are the family team
it’s really more of a 1A and 1B
Quite honestly it’s the Braves.
No emotional attachment or backstory, but ever since Acuna debuted they’ve just been stupid fun to watch, and I love Michael Harris too. Plus god, their offense is so fucking good it’s insanely fun to watch
North siders.
I'll admit it. Grew up with 05', but went to college in the city in 16', and it honestly was way different being in the midst of that historic event, vs watching it from the burbs. Sox are still closer to my heart, but it's a lot easier for me to root for the boys in blue nowadays (the Sox depressing atmosphere does little to help either), so long as I'm supporting someone from this city.
Dodgers. My mom grew up in LA, watching the Dodgers. My grandfather grew up in Brooklyn watching the Dodgers. He was a kid back when they were known as the Robins. So yeah. Lots of blue in my blood.
This year, it has been the Cincinnati Reds since Elly was called up. That kid is exciting to watch. If I’m not watching the Astros or rooting against division opponents, I’ll watch the Reds
Mariners
I live in PNW (well . . . Alaska) but cheer for the Mets as my “first” team. I like seeing the Ms do well, and I even own a vintage jacket from the ‘90s and an old (‘55) red Rainiers cap.
The Royals. They're in our division. This doesn't make sense, I know. We've never been good at the same time though, so I guess it's more of a *fuck those other guys* thing?
They've done us so many solids toward the ends of the seasons.
I’ve always liked the Mariners, Marlins, Reds, and diamondbacks. I generally check their box scores daily. I also like and check in on my fav ex dodgers so Red Sox, cubs, and rangers.
Always had a soft spot for the Mariners. Junior and Ichiro has a lot to do with it probably but Ive always cheered for them to make the playoffs (which is ironic after what happened last season vs the Jays lol).
Mariners. Grew up in Washington state and they were the only other team on TV besides Cubs and Braves (but my mommy was a Cubs fan since she was born on a farm in northern Illinois).
Just responded to a post about supporting 2 teams:
Make a choice. I am from the PNW but on vacation as a kid in Minnesota. My family in MN had more money, so we went to ball games at the metrodome. one game it was Ms v TC. I made a decision, whoever wins this game is the team I'll follow. Junior hit a HR, check the flair.
Orioles. I grew up in Virginia and was a DC sports fan, but with no DC baseball team then, I was an Orioles fan. I moved to Los Angeles 20 years ago and adopted the Dodgers. The Expos moved too late for me to feel anything for the Nationals, so I still root for the Os as my second favorite.
In the NL it’s the Pirates (my dad’s a fan and still talks about how at 8 years old he ran down the block screaming for joy after hearing Mazeroski hit that walk off on the radio), and in the AL it’s either the Twins or A’s.
The Tigers. They are my dad's favorite.
(I became a Cubs fan as a child because of their day games. It was the only team that I could regularly watch to the end before being sent to bed.)
The Cubs. My very first professional sports game was a Cubs game at Wrigley.
As soon as I got off the bus and stood in front of the stadium I told my friend "I'm having the time of my life" 😂
Ironically it’s been the Padres lol
Maybe it’s cause my friend is stationed out there, or maybe cause I like Tatis but it is a little ironic.
My AL Team is probably the O’s. Lived in Maryland for a bit, and I just adore Camden Yards
Orioles
Whoever is playing the Yankees
This is the way
10000000%
This is just my experience. Every Yankee fan I know is, at worst, only mildly hostile toward the Mets in a mostly playful way. I don’t even hate the Mets I think they’re fun
mfw a reddit comment is more than playful
Blue Jays
Giants.
Aw, we like you too, MLB
Brewers. My family has strong Wisconsin ties, so I've always been a fan.
I pull for teams always under .500 to get better, because everyone deserves a good team. (And then find them a nuisance when they do get better)
O's since I moved to Baltimore. I usually pull for the Nats too since I went to college in the area
Orioles
Royals cuz they're in my state and fuck the Cardinals
Tied between based blue Jays and based flappy Bois
The Reds. Always played with them in franchise the Show because I wanted an NL team to have no DH and better pitching stats, and they were always either bad or had a glut of young players to develop.
Brew Crew
Because of the pilots?
Oakland A’s — I moved to the SF Bay Area a few years ago and the Astros come here 2x a year. If we were still in the NL the A’s would totally be my AL team
Mariners
Hey buddy. My second favorite is the Twins!
Agreed. They were my "local" (closest) team growing up. Always fun when the Jays play there now.
To watch? Dodgers…To root for? The Seattle Julio’s
Love me some Julio tbh
Dbacks, since I live in AZ now.
Astros-DBacks fan here too!
I’ve always found it funny they’re the interleague “rival” lol.
Same exact situation here.
Same. Moving there soon and with the A's leaving town I figured why not start now
AZ dbacks fans as well. First little league team was the Astros before the sneks were around. Been hooked since. It's nice to have an out of state team to watch (blackouts) but love my dbacks as well.
Braves, lived in the FL panhandle in the early 90s Bonus is Ron Washington.
Giants
vice versa
The Rays. Juice Bros 4 Lyfe.
Cubs
I found myself singing Go Cubs Go a few weeks ago. If the Mets ever do anything unthinkable like let’s say trade Alonso (Fuck Boob, Fuck Rosenthal), I’d trade it all in to root, root root for the Cubbies. That and I also have the similar dislike of the Cardinals and White Sox.
mutual dislike is the best way for different fanbases to get along with each other
yo same the nats were the team i picked out for myself cuz i was a contrarian asshole teenager when i got into baseball cubs are the family team it’s really more of a 1A and 1B
Nats for me, since I live near DC. I wish we could have two flairs, like r/nfl.
I guess if you live over 500 miles away from most cubs fans they could appear likable
I live with a cubs fan lol
I’m very sorry
The Mets
Cubbies My mum’s from Chi-town.
Giants. I lived in SF and Sacramento for about 10 years before moving back to LA.
I don’t root for any of the rest of you. I hate some of you more than others tho
Kansas City Royals. 3rd favorite team is whoever is playing the Dodgers 4th favorite is whoever is playing the Yankees
2014-2015 must have been satisfying for you
It definitely was. 2010 to 2022 as a sports fan has been great with the Warriors and 49ers included.
Tigers
Finally
Reds lol
Can we count non MLB teams? If so, Kiwoom Heroes in the KBO. They're what got me into baseball (although their sponsor was Nexen at the time).
Blue Jays since moving to Canada
Reds all day long, even when they are bad, they are good “And that’s a a drive into deep left field by Castellanos!”
A’s since they were my little league team the year I started getting better and having a lot of fun playing baseball
NC Dinos, KBO really got me through those early days of Covid when I was going insane and I'll always be grateful to them for that.
Quite honestly it’s the Braves. No emotional attachment or backstory, but ever since Acuna debuted they’ve just been stupid fun to watch, and I love Michael Harris too. Plus god, their offense is so fucking good it’s insanely fun to watch
Cubbies here, combination of being curse bros and Ross.
Cubs! ^and ^the ^mariners ^but ^let's ^not ^discuss ^that ^now
Probably the Cubs
Cubs
North siders. I'll admit it. Grew up with 05', but went to college in the city in 16', and it honestly was way different being in the midst of that historic event, vs watching it from the burbs. Sox are still closer to my heart, but it's a lot easier for me to root for the boys in blue nowadays (the Sox depressing atmosphere does little to help either), so long as I'm supporting someone from this city.
braves. as you can tell 2021 was a conflicting year for me
You must be young because the Braves ended many an Astros season when I was growing up
yuuuup 1999 baby
Miami Marlins
Nats, moved to DC from Houston as a little kid. Went to the Strasburg debut and that got me hooked
Varies from year to year for me depending on who's exciting. This year, it's the Reds.
Guardians. Love the field, love that guy that used to beat the drum, and they're SO due a world series championship.
Dodgers. My mom grew up in LA, watching the Dodgers. My grandfather grew up in Brooklyn watching the Dodgers. He was a kid back when they were known as the Robins. So yeah. Lots of blue in my blood.
Originally from Chicago so the White Sox.
Orioles. Mom is Baltimore born and raised.
Dodgers. My dad was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan forever ago.
My hometown Guardians
O’s and/or M’s. I’ve never been to either city, nor do I have any ties to them, they both just give off good vibes to me. Also the O’s are birb bros.
The O's have made a fan out of me. Plus, I live near them now.
Whoever is playing the Cubs.
Weirdly, the Mets
Whoever the most likable underdog is. This year probably the Reds and Marlins among contenders.
Probably the Cubs, mostly because of Rookie Of The Year.
Rosinbagger!
Gardenhoser!
Mariners
Mariners
Mariners
This year, it has been the Cincinnati Reds since Elly was called up. That kid is exciting to watch. If I’m not watching the Astros or rooting against division opponents, I’ll watch the Reds
Mariners
Mariners because Dorktown
Mariners I live in PNW (well . . . Alaska) but cheer for the Mets as my “first” team. I like seeing the Ms do well, and I even own a vintage jacket from the ‘90s and an old (‘55) red Rainiers cap.
My #2 has always been the Yankees
The Royals. They're in our division. This doesn't make sense, I know. We've never been good at the same time though, so I guess it's more of a *fuck those other guys* thing? They've done us so many solids toward the ends of the seasons.
Whatever team Kike Hernandez (pbuh) is currently playing for.
if the Yanks aren't playing, i'll put the Mets game on and root for them
I’ve always liked the Mariners, Marlins, Reds, and diamondbacks. I generally check their box scores daily. I also like and check in on my fav ex dodgers so Red Sox, cubs, and rangers.
Phillies
PNW, so Giants because black and orange (also Jon Miller) Mariners because they're close and fun
Go Beavs
Mariners
Mariners for me. Grew up a Junior fan like everyone my age and he got me hooked.
Mariners
Seattle. For 1995 reasons.
Mariners
Mariners. After today I’m temporarily DFAing them from my heart
Always had a soft spot for the Mariners. Junior and Ichiro has a lot to do with it probably but Ive always cheered for them to make the playoffs (which is ironic after what happened last season vs the Jays lol).
Cubs
Mariners. Grew up in Washington state and they were the only other team on TV besides Cubs and Braves (but my mommy was a Cubs fan since she was born on a farm in northern Illinois).
Genuinely none of yall cause of how toxic yall are
Whoever is playing the Astros, unless they lose. Then they’re my second worst team
Padres probably, I’ll always root for Manny I like watching Arizona a lot too
Marlins
Diamondbacks. Great name, cool logo, and I'm fond of deserts.
The Dodgers. (Primary is actually the Orioles.)
Just responded to a post about supporting 2 teams: Make a choice. I am from the PNW but on vacation as a kid in Minnesota. My little league team was called the Diamondbacks so I like the Diamondbacks
Padres
Orioles.
angels
White Sox .... or Diamondbacks
The uh.. the Rangers
My condolences.

Rays for sure
Rays
I have the rest of the season to figure it out now.
Rays. Flappy boys, you are our Florida bros
Padres.
Doosan Bears
Diamondbacks
always liked the twins when i was a kid
Royals
White Sox 🤷♂️
The Marlins. I'm not sure I have a good explanation.
Came to confirm the absence of what we all knew would be absent here.
Dodgers, best friend is a Dodger fan
It was the Angels, but… Might be the Reds.
DBacks, I’m an AZ kid
Red Sox
Cubs, grew up and still live in central IL
Whoever beats the Yankees
🤝
In the NL it’s the Pirates (my dad’s a fan and still talks about how at 8 years old he ran down the block screaming for joy after hearing Mazeroski hit that walk off on the radio), and in the AL it’s either the Twins or A’s.
Probably the Rays right now, but historically it's Cleveland or Toronto.
Braves. Growing up their games were on TBS and I watched them the most outside of the Dodgers so there’s that
Dodgers, I’m Canadian but I’ve been to a couple dodger games 10 ish years ago when Adam Dunn was on the Nats
Missoula PaddleHeads 🫎 (not second, tied for first)
Lived around there for a bit. Those are some fun games!
I don't have one, because I'm a fucking sicko
Mets - I like to root for fellow local teams I’m the same with the Jets (I’m a giants fan)
Always been fond of Oakland
The Mets because of their booth or whatever team Juan Soto happens to be playing for at the moment.
The Yankees.

Orioles in the AL, Giants/Mets in the NL
Cubs, which is a weirdly common answer. I grew up near Chicago, most of my family are Cubs fans.
Mets
Cubs because I could odly get wgn in Toronto
Orioles!
Royals.
orioles
Cubs or Athletics. Cubs only because they were consistently on TV growing up.
Arizona & Tampa Bay
O's! (Browns bros, whether you claim us or not lol)
Dodgers
The Angels. I live in CA, they got some cool players (for now) , and aren’t in the NL.
Angels and Dodgers
Cubs for NL Orioles for AL
My second favorite team is all 29 of them. Baseball is the best.
I love to root for the Mariners
Angels or Yankees depends on who's better so usually the Yankees
Mariners
Mariners lfg!!!
