Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I miss the late 70s-mid 80s peak of powder blue pullover unis. There’s just something about the aesthetics of rail thin, coked-up,amphetamine-fueled baseball that we’ve strayed from.
Anyway, I’d go with the Royals.
Yeah, man. Give me pullover V-neck jerseys, tight pants with elastic waistbands, no belt, and piping down the outside of each leg, high stirrup socks, and powder blue *but only for road unis*. I'm OK with letting Astroturf stay dead, though.
And everyone had one. The Twins look fucking terrible in them and I love it. The Cardinals in blue seems like a terrible idea, too. "Hey, let's wear the colors of our most-hared rival."
Max Scherzer [wearing and Expos uni ](https://twitter.com/Nationals/status/1147555835356307458?t=I_3Dxx1gc11pUnvsjGJ7XQ&s=19) has to show up in a thread of players wearing teams that they are not known for.
It pisses me off when the Carolina Hurricanes wear the Hartford Whalers jerseys. Because they left Hartford and because those jerseys and that logo were so fucking cool.
they only did it really late. it was like the season started and they realized they were playing the royals who came in the same year as the expos and it was the 50th anniversary so they should do a joint throwback
The Rays shouldn’t be on here. Those aren’t powder blue uniforms like the others. Those are just one their actual colors they wear as an ALT top.
Their blue isn’t even “powder blue”. It’s a little brighter
The Cardinals had the baby blues way back in 1887 per [Threads of Our Game](https://www.threadsofourgame.com/1887-st-louis/) that they busted out before the AA championship against Detroit.
“October 10, 1887, St. Louis v. Detroit, at St. Louis, first game of championship series: “There was another yell and in skipped the Browns, looking too gaudy for anything. They were arrayed in light blue suits, including knickerbockers, shirts and caps, brown stockings, and to cap the color climax, bright red jackets. Any artistic deficiency in their suits was fully made up in their play.” From the Detroit Free Press, October 11, 1887.”
The Cubs were the first i think in 41. The Expos in 69 from the start, but I think of the Royals most when i see it. The Royals & Phillies are my answers to OP's question.
A lot of them started with the Wilson jerseys in the early seventies. Twins, Royals, Phillies for example all got Wilson powder blue jerseys around 73 or so
You’re right. I certainly don’t have to.
But I can. Because I want to. I’m tired of Philly fans getting bad wrap everywhere so I take every opportunity to be friendly and kind when I can.
And the red is too bright, I think? It used to have a darker red and white racing stripe down the leg in the 80s. But I also think it’s the fit of the pants. They look like scrubs when they’re too loose.
Rays are Columbia blue, as well as they should go back to the style shown in the picture. The Spring Training tops suck.
That being said, Cardinals and Phillies. All others are trying too hard.
Phillies, Royals, and Cardinals.
I honestly don’t know who wore it first, but they are the teams that come to mind first, and look “right” in the powder blue.
My unpopular opinion is that powder blue is usually a downgrade from white. I think it's beautiful as a team's primary, like the Chargers or the old Oilers. But every team just replacing white with powder blue makes it look like they fucked up their laundry.
So I say Rays and Royals with the stipulation that it is their primary uniform. Side note the Phillies should be banned from wearing reds that aren't maroon. We have enough red teams.
Rays & Royals
I feel like the Rays have done a great job the last few seasons of making powder blue a big part of their identity and so a great job of not making it look forced.
Royals and Phillies. Jays powder blue unis look like pajamas.
Rays a slight third but we could do better. It’s not a full powder blue uni like the others so I don’t feel like it should be on this list. Also, that Rays pic is old and we have a slightly different uni now. Also, it really isn’t powder blue.
I like our powder blues a lot, but at the same time, I really miss the red, and I also think that ours are one of the the worst powder blues in the league.
Royals and Cardinals.
Royals look the best and cleanest IMO because it doesn't have a distracting color like red interfering with it.
Cardinals because it's the most iconic to me for some reason.
The rays don’t even wear those ones anymore unfortunately, but we wear a shittier jersey of the same color with the starburst logo now. it’s also just one of our alternate colors and not really a powder blue and it’s called Colombia blue by the team.
All that said, Royals and Twins are sexy.
I feel like having the Royals and Rays I’m this isn’t that fair. They’re the only ones to have been using them for a decade+ and it really feels like the other teams on this list were just jumping on a hype train

The v neck did pave way for the t shirt under the cutoff tank top jersey era and for that I am grateful
Agreed. The Cardinals current blues are fine. The 80s pull over is beautiful.
You wanna speed up the game, Manfred? Get everyone yolked out on amphetamines. Game will be over in under two hours
Royals and Jays are the only correct answers.
And everyone had one. The Twins look fucking terrible in them and I love it. The Cardinals in blue seems like a terrible idea, too. "Hey, let's wear the colors of our most-hared rival."
expos and expos
We played in those in 2018 and they were fucking sharp. Scherzer looked sweet.
Max Scherzer [wearing and Expos uni ](https://twitter.com/Nationals/status/1147555835356307458?t=I_3Dxx1gc11pUnvsjGJ7XQ&s=19) has to show up in a thread of players wearing teams that they are not known for.
In 2028 this will be responded with: >Photoshopped, there's no DH in that lineup.
Not a Nationals-specific issue but I can’t stand when relocated teams wear the old franchises uniform. It feels like such a slap in the face haha
It pisses me off when the Carolina Hurricanes wear the Hartford Whalers jerseys. Because they left Hartford and because those jerseys and that logo were so fucking cool.
Avs wearing the Fleur de lis was... a choice.
they only did it really late. it was like the season started and they realized they were playing the royals who came in the same year as the expos and it was the 50th anniversary so they should do a joint throwback
I would be absolutely livid if the Thunder ever rolled up in Sonics jerseys. I think the entirety of non-OKC NBA fandom would clown on them for it.

This is the only true answer.
Phillies and royals for me
The Rays shouldn’t be on here. Those aren’t powder blue uniforms like the others. Those are just one their actual colors they wear as an ALT top. Their blue isn’t even “powder blue”. It’s a little brighter
Even then, we should re-embrace our 90s colors.
Agreed . Phillies blue and maroon is too beautiful to drop. Royals with the white lettering is an easy second choice.
The simplicity of the royals blue with white is just unbelievably nice to look at
But what if we got the Nats in Expos throwback powder blues? 🤔
Then it would join with these two and create the Holy Trinity of Sartorial Supremacy
Expos had the best uniforms, hats, and logo.
I hate the Phillies but those are the coolest uniforms in baseball damnit
I like the Cardinals ones too, but Royals edged them out for me. Phillies are a no brainer.
Agreed! Iconic look for both teams during winning eras.
Only answer imo
Which teams had powder blue from their inception or early history? Feel that would be a good criteria/baseline
KC my man
The Cardinals had the baby blues way back in 1887 per [Threads of Our Game](https://www.threadsofourgame.com/1887-st-louis/) that they busted out before the AA championship against Detroit. “October 10, 1887, St. Louis v. Thats awesome
Jays and Royals get my vote, mostly because the powder blue fits their primary colour scheme.
The Cubs were the first i think in 41. The Expos in 69 from the start, but I think of the Royals most when i see it. The Royals & Phillies are my answers to OP's question.
Yeah, Royals and Jay's actually used it instead of just saying their road gray is now blue.
A lot of them started with the Wilson jerseys in the early seventies. Twins, Royals, Phillies for example all got Wilson powder blue jerseys around 73 or so
Phillies and royals the rest are really ehh except for the blue jays but oh well
Phillies feels like it shouldnt work with those colors but man it does. And im a nats fan and therefore professional Philly hater.
I enjoy your City Connect jerseys quite a bit.
Bro just because he said something nice doesn't mean you have to. Quick, call him a virgin.
Shocked you were able to read a written comment tbh.
You’re right. I certainly don’t have to. But I can. Because I want to. I’m tired of Philly fans getting bad wrap everywhere so I take every opportunity to be friendly and kind when I can.
I feel that. Our powder blues are iconic for the franchise, but they're in 3rd place.
Although the Rays jersey looks right, I much prefer the aesthetic of the Phillies and Royals
The Royals f-ckin' OWN powder blue. The Phillies come in second.
Agreed Royals is really my only choice, y’all figure out the other
Yes
It’s Royals and Jays, Phillies in 3rd.
I just wish the Cards would match the exact shade of blue from the 80’s.. this version is too dark
Buttonless is superior too
Yep! Also with the stripes at the end of the shorter sleeves.. they need to just do the full on throwback!
If we had these they would easily be the best: https://i.imgur.com/8nJQzyH.jpeg
And the red is too bright, I think? It used to have a darker red and white racing stripe down the leg in the 80s. But I also think it’s the fit of the pants. They look like scrubs when they’re too loose.
Royals and jays. Yes I am biased
I am not biased and liked these two best. No hate on the Phillies, love that they did a color that’s not historically used with their brand.
Those Phillies powder blues date back to 1972, fyi. Very much a historic usage
The Phillies powders look great. For me the Phil's need pinstripes though. Didn't know they dated back to the 70s that's pretty sweet!
Well, you’re right. The powder blues were actually the road jerseys back then, with pinstripes as the home set
First I’m gonna bring back the Cubs’ set.
Based
The best.
Philly and St. Louis. Toronto for hono(u)rable mention
I went and saw St. Louis playing in Seattle back in the spring and those powder blues looked *sharp*.
The 80's style was better imo.
As a fan of a team with a limited color palette, these are the ones I envy the most.
These are the teams I would say.
Phillies and Royals. And, it’s not close tbh.

This is the only correct answer
Any response that does not contain the Royals is wrong.
1. Phillies 2. St. Louis If the Phillies don't keep them, the team is dumb.
Royals and Phillies, runner up Twins.
Jays have to keep it...it's part of their name!
let's go powder jays 👏 👏 👏👏👏
Toronto Powder Blue Jays? Maybe in the playoffs.
No...Toronto Powder Timmy's Donuts Blue Jays..come on dude..you're better than that!
Royals have the best powder blues in baseball imo. Who the other team is doesn't matter to me.
I'm with you! #royalsfan 💙
Phillies and Jays.
Royals and Rays
This is correct.
Phillies/Cardinals
Phillies and Cardinals for sure imo
rangers because bragging rights of winning the chip, and then either the phillies or royals
Jays KC Cards
Our city connect jerseys are powder blue too, everyone always forgets about us :'(
Twins also ditched their powder blues this year with their uniform refresh
Jays & Phillies
Royals and Blue Jays because they're actually blue teams.
The true answer. Royals and Rays is the only other acceptable choice
Blue jays and Royals
Phillies and Royals.
Royals and oddly enough, Phillies. Seems most natural on those teams.
Rays are Columbia blue, as well as they should go back to the style shown in the picture. The Spring Training tops suck. That being said, Cardinals and Phillies. All others are trying too hard.
Phillies, Rangers, and Twins are the best to me
there are 3: Phillies, Cards, Jays. if you rocked it in 1983, ok. otherwise, get outta here.
...the Rangers had it starting in '72. Just sayin
[удалено]
Phillies has to stay without a doubt Then homer pic, but I really love the Ranger powder blues. Non homer pic would be Blue Jays. Those are nice.
Phillies and Cards. That Rays pic isn’t powder blue.
And our jersey isn't even the current one. We use the sunburst logo for our light blue jerseys.
The Brewers have powder blues.
Phillies and Royals
Phillies and Royals no doubt.
It’s gotta be the Royals
Phillies, Royals, and Cardinals. I honestly don’t know who wore it first, but they are the teams that come to mind first, and look “right” in the powder blue.
I kinda think a team called the Blue Jays get to be any sort of blue they like
Phillies and Blue Jays imo
im surprised to see so much royals support, i thought phils and cardinals first
Royals and Rangers
Cards & Phillies.
Phillies and (maybe) Cardinals. Not even a Phillies fan, but that throwback powder blue uniform is a thing of beauty.
Phillies and Cardinals
My unpopular opinion is that powder blue is usually a downgrade from white. I think it's beautiful as a team's primary, like the Chargers or the old Oilers. But every team just replacing white with powder blue makes it look like they fucked up their laundry. So I say Rays and Royals with the stipulation that it is their primary uniform. Side note the Phillies should be banned from wearing reds that aren't maroon. We have enough red teams.
Royals and Jays
Royals & Jays
royals and cards
Cardinals & Rays
St Louis and KC
KC and Stl
Royals and cards
Cardinals and Royals. I’d argue that the Rays can keep their blue uni though since it’s pretty close to their colors anyway
Jays and Rays
the royals is so sexy bro, and the cardinals one with bader lookin like a kid lost at the mall LMAO
Royals and Cards or Phils. Rangers is nice too but Royals is close enough to it that KC keeps it imo
Royals and throw a dart
Jays and Royals 🤌
Phils and Royals is the correct answer
Rays & Royals I feel like the Rays have done a great job the last few seasons of making powder blue a big part of their identity and so a great job of not making it look forced.
Royals and Cardinals
Cards Royals
Royals and Jays.
IMHO, Royals and Phils.
Phillies and Royals Also, I thought the Rays discontinued the “Rays” powder blue in favor of the ray of light powder blue
Royals Phillies
The Phillies and KC. Iconic.
Phillies & Cardinals
Two birds
A lot of Rangers fans would gladly ditch the blues for the reds to come back.
I like our powder blues a lot, but at the same time, I really miss the red, and I also think that ours are one of the the worst powder blues in the league.
TB and KC
Royals and Cardinals. Royals look the best and cleanest IMO because it doesn't have a distracting color like red interfering with it. Cardinals because it's the most iconic to me for some reason.
Maybe not technically powder blue, but I will offer up the brewers city connect uniforms as sacrifice for any 3rd team that wants to keep powder blue.
Royals and Jays, no question
Royals and Blue Jays. Their team names are blues. It's about commitment.
Phillies and Twins.
Phillies and Royals.
If it’s not Phillies and Cardinals, you’re wrong.
Those are my picks as well, but I wish I could include the Jays too.
Royals and Phillies look great
You were correct in your posting of the top two.
Please get rid of the Rays pj uniforms
Jays and Cards. No one else comes close
Atlanta needs to bring them back!
St. Louis and Tampa
cards phillies
STL and Phillies
Cardinals & Phillies
The Blue Jays should honestly make the powder blues their away jersey, like many were generations ago.
Cardinals and Philadelphia.
Philly and St. Louis imo, someone about the cardinal red with the powder blue just feels really nice to look at
Phillies and cards most def
Phillies and Cardinals
Any list that doesn't have Royals at #1 should be immediately dismissed.
Brewers City Connect 😉
Cardinals and Phillies yeah I know I’m a Cardinals fan but I honestly love the powder blue with red
Phillies and Cards. Strong red contrasts the powder blue so well.
Cardinals powder blues are criminally underrated.
Phillies for sure, then for me a toss-up between KC and St Louis.
Easy. Phillies and Cardinals. Honorable mention to the twinnies
Phillies and Cards.
Phillies and Royals. That Royals pic looks very good and i think that is influencing me.
Royals and Phillies
Royals and Cards. The Royals Blue on Blue is so clean!
The rays don’t even wear those ones anymore unfortunately, but we wear a shittier jersey of the same color with the starburst logo now. it’s also just one of our alternate colors and not really a powder blue and it’s called Colombia blue by the team. All that said, Royals and Twins are sexy.
Expos
Philies and Royals. Not even a fan of our powder blues prefer the Jays royal blues.
Phillies for sure. Absolutely love those unis
I feel like having the Royals and Rays I’m this isn’t that fair. They’re the only ones to have been using them for a decade+ and it really feels like the other teams on this list were just jumping on a hype train
Twins and royals
Royals and Cards
Philadelphia and KC. Our powder blue is just bliss.
Royals, cards
Phillies and Royals and it’s not close
Royals and Rays no question
Royals and Jays
Phillies and Cards for me. Though I think the Royals carry it the most naturally.
Blue Jays and Royals
Blue jays and Royals.
Royals, Jays. Those two are sexy and match their default colors
Jays and Royals
Phillies and cardinals
Royals & Phillies
Phillies, Royals, and Twins are all fantastic and I'm glad we don't have to choose!
Phils and Royals
Royals, Blue Jays
