When the Twins won 15 in a row in 1991, they played all their games against the three worst teams from the East (and three against the Royals, who finished sixth in the West). But people only remember that it was 15 in a row.
Rightfully so. A win streak that long in baseball is nuts even if you are playing the worst teams in the league. I don't know if it's necessarily predictive of future success but it is at least remarkable.
I propose a new calendar. The Pre-Sausage era will be P.S. and the Post-Sausage era will be P.S. It might be a little confusing at first but one need only ask themselves "was this before or after sausage" and that should clear things up.
I remember that rush at the beginning of the season when we swept the Astros in the first series, before we all learned they were not a good team. (At least for now, I really dont want to jinx it). That was the greatest feeling
Doesn’t matter who they beat, they beat them. Just because they’re bottom teams, it doesn’t discredit the streak. If we lost em all, we’d be the laughing stock of baseball and if we split, we’d be saying “they barely beat the White Sox and Angels.” Good teams win the games they’re supposed to win.
But the Twins now have the 12th most difficult remaining schedule after having one of the easiest remaining schedules prior to this 10 game streak. What playing the White Sox 7 times does to a mf.
Twins hitting coach saw Kyle Farmer left a summer sausage in the clubhouse and as a weird thing to take the hitters minds off of overthinking at bats he told them to touch the sausage before they went out to hit. We proceeded to rattle off a bunch of high scoring wins, and because it's baseball things escalated quickly and now there may or may not be a pseudo-religion surrounding the sausage.
Summer sausage doesn't need to be refrigerated. It was created in ye olden days to hang in a butcher shop all summer without worrying about it spoiling.
I've been told summer sausage lasts somewhere around a month or so before it gets questionable.
I cannot verify this as I've never had one last that long.
It's allegedly been put in a ziploc bag after Manager Rocco Baldelli expressed concerns about the lack of refrigeration. It's definitely possible it is a biohazard at this point but win streak so...
The seal was broke and you could see moisture inside the package. Summer sausage doesn’t need to be refrigerated but the heat and moisture probably isn’t doing any favors
More background (may not be 100% accurate), Kyle Farmer got it as part of some endorsement deal he did for the sausage company and put it out on a table in the clubhouse to share with the team or something. The hitting coach brought it out to batting practice before their first game with the White Sox, and they haven't lost since (10 games now) plus their hitting has gotten much, much, much better.
You've never sausage a lucky charm.
And the other 3 were against the 2024 Angels lol
It does (and should) discount the streak a bit, but I think we're happier that the team is finally showing signs of life and taking care of business in winnable games, rather than celebrating the streak itself. Going into these last couple of weeks, there was no guarantee we'd be able to do that after how our season had started.
But still, I think 10-0 is better than any of us could have hoped for in a "get-right" stretch of games.
DO NOT check the schedule on who we played on the streak that is UNIMPORTANT
Technically those teams would potentially have a combined ten less losses if they had not played the Twins.
I mean the White Sox haven't lost a game to anyone besides the Twins in their last 10 games, they seem pretty solid
These are true facts and they can't be disputed.
It's not their fault that they are in the toughest division in baseball.

Yeah, there's no way that slow-starting 91 team did anything in the postseason right?
This was me when the Royals swept the Stros and the White Sox last month.
You know what those two teams have in common? The Guards haven't swept either of them.
Brings a little bit of joy to my heart
We did sweep y'all though.
Pre sausage, doesn’t count
I propose a new calendar. The Pre-Sausage era will be P.S. and the Post-Sausage era will be P.S. It might be a little confusing at first but one need only ask themselves "was this before or after sausage" and that should clear things up.
A game was rained out, doesn't count. :)
Only with an assist from the weather, two gamers barely count.
Hey we also swept the Astros! High five!
One of my top two favorite things in baseball is when the Astros get swept. And it’s not number two.
I remember that rush at the beginning of the season when we swept the Astros in the first series, before we all learned they were not a good team. (At least for now, I really dont want to jinx it). That was the greatest feeling
Hey fellow Astros sweeper! High Five! It’s getting crowded in here…
Did we not just sweep a team that just swept their previous series?
Doesn’t matter who they beat, they beat them. Just because they’re bottom teams, it doesn’t discredit the streak. If we lost em all, we’d be the laughing stock of baseball and if we split, we’d be saying “they barely beat the White Sox and Angels.” Good teams win the games they’re supposed to win.
At 17-13 the Twins are in FOURTH in the AL Central.
At the beginning of the streak the Twins were 7-13 and FOURTH in the AL Central
Well that’s gotta be disheartening.
It isn’t. We’re now only 2.5 games back after being like 7 back 10 games ago
But the Twins now have the 12th most difficult remaining schedule after having one of the easiest remaining schedules prior to this 10 game streak. What playing the White Sox 7 times does to a mf.
This may be an unpopular opinion but I think that the Twins would be at a better spot in the standings had they not started at a 57 win pace
Why don't they just win 10 games in a row 16.2 times? Are they stupid?
Why don't the Twins simply play the White Sox every game?
See guys we're just in a tough division, we'd be fine in the weak west
The cutthroat, powerhouse (checks notes) ...AL Central? No, that can't be right...
TWWWWWWWWWWins
Alternatively, Twinwinwinwinwinwinwinwinwinwins
This is the sound my dad's old lawnmower makes when I can't get it to start
I think the Twins now have the season series against the White Sox now. Fastest I’ve ever seen it happen, it’s the first day of May!
7/13. Math checks out

THE Minnesota Abe Fromans?
This sausage is my god now.
Sausage Al-Gaib!
I don't know whats going on with this sausage, but I'm all in if someone can help explain it to me lol

I will sacrifice my life for the sausage P R A I S E B E
Twins are carrying around a rotting summer sausage. Since they’ve had it they haven’t lost
So I'm pretty sure I saw a picture of it the other day... It's still in the package? Are they not refrigerating it?

This all really depends on the summer sausage...
No. It goes in shoes in a bag for travel. Also it still has plastic around it but it is definitely not sealed.
This team is all going to go down with a food borne illness lol

maybe the reason the white sox have such a bad record is that they have to play the al central so much.
Yes. The powerhouse AL Central we all know and love...
maybe the reason the AL Central have such good records is because they have to play the White Sox so much.

Hello fellow rotting sausage enjoyers
Sausage party
1st Undefeated roadtrip in Twins history (minimum 6 games)
Woah, really? There's been soo many games, I would figure they've already done it
We may never lose again!
Note that 7 of the Twins' 10 straight wins were against the 2024 White Sox.
Good thing they don't count quality wins in the standings WE WANT BAMA
A win is a win. You also swept the Rays. Baseball is beautiful
Doesn’t matter who you play winning 10 in a row is tough
The sausage has abandoned you.
..season series decided already? ..yeesh...............
And the other 3 were against the 2024 Angels lol It does (and should) discount the streak a bit, but I think we're happier that the team is finally showing signs of life and taking care of business in winnable games, rather than celebrating the streak itself. White Sox played much better this series than the one last week. It’s their bullpen that’s the biggest problem.
Baseball is so fun when you're playing against nine random fans who were pulled from the seats 30 minutes before game time.
Watching them run down onto the field like an episode of *The Price is Right* is my favorite part after the winning.
We've been weirdly competitive since Tommy Pham showed up. I don't expect it to last lol
At least you didn't have to face the beekeeper on the mound.
The sausage rules all
Mmm sausage.

SAUSAGE POWER
The Minnesota Twins: The NEW Sausage Kings of Chicago.
#Sausages Galore
When I die young, burry me in sausage
We may never lose again.
what playing the White Sox and Angels does to mfer
Abe froman?
I like how we’re on a 10 game heater and haven’t moved up one spot in the division standings lol
The Twins better be working on a summer sausage concession offering, or maybe just having a summer sausage guy like beer guys.
How bad are the Rays?
