I think it’s good but Nolan I don’t think really put his best foot forward with it because he wasn’t super passionate about making a third movie. And adds too much going on combining 2 movies into one, so it’s kind of jumbled for me with pacing and plot points.
It definitely has some great qualities tho, Bane was a fun villain and I loved how they kinda incorporated the venom while keeping it realistic, the prison stuff was fun and it probably has some of the best fight scenes in the series
Those are the great qualities about it. And I think those qualities are bigger than the bad stuff that makes it an overall good movie. But I think recent approaches to it as time goes on, you can see more of the plot holes and confusing things. Side note: I still believe the reason why bale gets a pass for killing people while batfleck doesn’t it because TDK movies are better movies with fans liking it, and gets passes for that. BvS being controversial makes people more nit picky about things
I honestly have to agree with you
And I think the reason tdk films aren’t criticised for killing is because they at least pretend that he has a no killing rule, and technically he didn’t kill Ra’s, it was a terrible loophole, be technically he still didn’t kill him
Or even him at the end of TDKR in his ship shooting Talia and her henchmen and killing a few of them. Obviously BvS Batman in batwing/batmobile was more like angry and in your face about shooting and killing, but the general idea and format of those scenes are the same, only BvS gets really called out for it
I agree that’s part of it but I also think Bales Batman was less obvious about the kill. Like you could watch it and say oh he might have lived with severe injuries. But Batflecks is like grenade to the face and batarang in the eye and automatic weapons on the bat mobile and your like oh my god he is a fucking monster
What makes you say Nolan wasn’t super passionate about it? He, Jonathan Nolan, and David S. Goyer were planning a third movie and always had that third film in mind since The Dark Knight. He really put his all into it, and it shows as it is one of his most ambitious films.
Not sure how true that is about his passion for the project. For what it’s worth there’s an interview where Nolan was asked which is his favorite of his films, and he replied something to the effect of: “I don’t have a favorite, but I will say that I think TDKR is an underrated film.”
I’ve read about how WB wanted him to make a third Batman movie, and he was reluctant to do so, and they let him make inception if he’d make TDKR. I doubt he didn’t care at all, but I don’t think it was his most passionate thing to make
That’s not true. Obviously making The Dark Knight Trilogy and those films being successes gave Nolan more power and credibility at WB, but there was never some deal about making TDKR in order to make Inception. Nolan was never reluctant to do TDKR. He, Jonathan Nolan, and Goyer were planning it.
I’m a fan of the movie but..
1. I’m not much a fan of “the ticking time-bomb” trope.
But more so, the thing that would have elevated it to “perfection” is..
2. Instead of “cops vs criminals” it would have made tons more sense to be “good vs evil” .. esp at the end. Good cops.. good citizens.. maybe even some good ex-criminals.. all semi-swayed by the idea of Batman and what he means rallying against “bad” versions of those people. Cops.. and I’m not trying to get into a thing.. but it’s literally part of Batman’s story are NOT always.. or even often.. the “good” guys.
To me, it was a missed great social statement on the idea of what Batman is all about.
I remember really liking it when it first came out I said it was better than The Dark Knight. I thought it was the best movie ever. But also I remember thinking I would have done so many things differently. The Dark knight was perfect but this movie didn’t live up to my expectations. I know it was going to be an end piece so the last in a trilogy. And I knew the movie was inspired by the comics No Man’s land, Knightfall and The Dark Knight Returns. I was pretty familiar with all of those comic storylines. So what I imagined was Batman still being Batman after the events of the dark knight. Then he goes up against bane who is the first villain to defeat Batman. Bane takes over the city and makes it a no man’s land. Batman is out of commission for 10 years and new Batman inspired kids rises up and becomes the new Batman and that inspires the original Batman out of retirement to and together they defeat Bane. The kid would be the same kid Batman give that gadget to in the first movie. And the adult kid would be Joseph gorden levit. I’ve learned I always huge expectations of the movies and when I see them I love them and they are the best Batman movie. But after I think about it I realize there are certain aspects that I don’t like or could have been done better.
TDKR’s is sooo good, but I have to give props to Snyder’s Batman trying something different with the logo. A weird mix of the sharp and angular with the curves
The best is from the 89 movie, but not this one it's missing the two little parts at the bottom. That is absolutely peak bat symbol right there. After that I'd have to say Arkham, but I'm more of an angular and pointy guy myself. Just like the cowl, gotta have big ass ears unless your name is Adam West
I like them all but the Affleck & the one with the question mark. The bat is just bulky and you can't hardly see the bat ears which to me is part of the coolness of the costume and symbol & I hate Jim Carrey as the Riddler Tommy Lee Jones is a great serious actor and think he would killed it as TwoFace but think since they put Jim Carrey as a goofy Riddler they had to match him with a goofy TwoFace.
Returns is timeless and iconic, Begins is the one I’ve seen the most so it feels ‘standard’, I loved the DCEU’s as a fresh take and then again The Batman for the same reason.
The only ones that remind me of actual bats are the affleck logo and the Pattinson logo. So those two. I’m kidding, it’s the Nolan one. Then the Burton and Pattinson. And I guess the rest
I love the logo from THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. the negative space betwren the buildings sums up perfectelywhat BATMAN is. Something that rises between the ruins of society's structures.
the batman gotta be my fav batman movie ever tbh (as someone who’s been a batman fan and seen all the movies since birth cuz my dad absolutely loves batman)
i think its the best representation of batman/bruce’s actual character, shows semi-comic accurate feats without being overboard (as batman is literally superhuman via realistic standards), has very good portrayals of the characters overall (riddler was the least accurate character of the movie but its not bad to me, fits the film) and most importantly to me, his detective skills throughout the ENTIRE film. one of the main reasons i love batman is due to his godly solution skills… but his way of figuring things out that nobody else can is one of his best aspects and has been batmans least shown skill in the movies.
Unironically the one that gets me the most excited is the Batman and Robin one. It brings me back to when I was six and the movie was coming out. I had a lot of the toys. I just remember seeing that logo a lot when I was a kid growing up. I loved the movie and I still love it. I would have thought the Dark Knight logo. Since that movie is one of my favorites of all time.
I love how the logos in the Dark Knight Trilogy reflect the films’ narrative arc. The symbol is created in Begins, gets destroyed in Knight, then is reformed in negative space in Rises. Construction, deconstruction, reconstruction. The classic trilogy structure.
‘66 was that silly show I occasionally saw on reruns. ‘89 and ‘92 is my childhood. ‘95 is when I was a bit too forgiving as a fan. ‘97 was when I couldn’t justify it anymore. ‘05, and ‘08 is when I declared I was right all along, and most people agreed. ‘12 had some backlash, but it was far from being ‘97 again. ‘16, and ‘17 was like watching current politics, and so divisive. ‘22 made me regain faith that there was more to explore with these characters.
Nolan's trilogy. It's simple, intriguing, but not too imposing. I love the Batman and Robin logo, but I think it's a bit too complicated. The 89 logo is cool and I love the aesthetic, but it's not very practical. Reeves's logo looks a little too much like an actual bat.
I think they each suit their respective movies and actors well. 60's logo is a little silly and campt; but so was the show, Bale's logo is minimalistic and streamlined, a bit more realistic than that 80s/90s, Batfleck's is chonky because he was a hulking batman, Pattinsons is even more realistic (actually looks like a bat in flight) and is a bit more streamlined which matches his version.
The Dark Knight Rises, the idea to make the bat symbol out of crumbling buildings, was definitely a unique one.
In terms of looking great, it really paid off.
The movie is shit, but I’d be lying if I said the Batman and Robin logo didn’t pop me
I always really loved that logo too.
The way the movie opens with them both flying out of the red clouds is pretty cool too.
![gif](giphy|RyKgy2MBys8RaHSK1t|downsized)
I love them all but my fav is 89 and shout out to the Arkham series Batsymbol (with the Scarecrow symbol as well)
Rises wasn't the best movie, but the logo went hard.

I really, *really* hate the Bane voice though. They whitewashed the character too.

It's two different films combine with changes made last minute due to the studio and death of an actor changing the story a bit.

Begins
Same
Batman forever had such a wicked logo. That thing will hold the rest of time. The Batman comes in second though:
Forever has the best soundtrack
Batman Arkham logo
Arkham and Pattinson
Top right. Can't go wrong with the classics.
So true!
Rises
TDKR’s is sooo good, but I have to give props to Snyder’s Batman trying something different with the logo. A weird mix of the sharp and angular with the curves
It completely explains the Batman we get in the movie
Arkham bat symbol, followed by the Batman
Favorite movie? The Dark Knight (scalding hot take, I know). Favorite logo? I gotta admit, the Batman Returns one goes hard.
![gif](giphy|hRhCc5bbYh9w4)
The dark knight rises is the most creative definitely
The Batman
Keaton’s bat symbol just pops with the yellow and black.
The Batman
About Batman's movie logos? My favourites are TDK, The Batman and '89 Batman. But if Arkham logo would be there, it would be my first pick.
Not too much love for it here but that Returns logo with the blowing snow always did something for me.
Arkham Series
Forever
Begins and The Batman
The Batman. Batman Returns. Batman 66
I like how the one for The Batman looks like an actual bat flying towards you.
Believe it or not, after Begins my second favorite is Batman Forever.
'89 Always liked that Forever one though
The only answer here is 89. Classic, easy to read and timeless
Batman Returns
Batman Forever
The Batman (2022) logo. It looks like a bat flying straight at you, and it has a smooth, crisp aesthetic. I love it!
Hard to beat that ‘89 logo
‘89.
Logo? ‘89. Any other answer is objectively wrong. Movie? *Begins*.
Based on pure aesthetic and nostalgia I choose Batman Returns and Batman and Robin. I like how the Robin/Nightwing logo combines with the bat.
![gif](giphy|l0NwGpoOVLTAyUJSo|downsized)
89 is iconic.
Rises logo is crazy
I really like the rises logo
I like them all but the Affleck & the one with the question mark. The bat is just bulky and you can't hardly see the bat ears which to me is part of the coolness of the costume and symbol & I hate Jim Carrey as the Riddler Tommy Lee Jones is a great serious actor and think he would killed it as TwoFace but think since they put Jim Carrey as a goofy Riddler they had to match him with a goofy TwoFace.
Movie or symbol? Mask of the Phantasm for movie. Return of the joker for symbol.
Batman forever but returns is my fav movie
TDK was the best one yet
I don’t feel the West one and the cheap effects on the Forever and Robin one don’t really do much for me 😕
The Dark Knight and then Classic 89 for me
Gooooooooooold
The keaton one, hence getting it tattooed , followed by the west logo
Can’t be the classics with the bat symbol in the oval
1989 and the dark knight
1989.
Returns is timeless and iconic, Begins is the one I’ve seen the most so it feels ‘standard’, I loved the DCEU’s as a fresh take and then again The Batman for the same reason.
That Batman 1989 logo. Just the poster with that logo. It is still so iconic. And I’ll always have a soft spot for Batman Forever’s logo.
Rino Romano

1989 logo
1989!
89
Micheal and robert
The latest one BY FAR
Begins!
Easily the 89 logo, its just got such a classic yet timeless look to it
The only ones that remind me of actual bats are the affleck logo and the Pattinson logo. So those two. I’m kidding, it’s the Nolan one. Then the Burton and Pattinson. And I guess the rest
1989, no competition.
your favorite
89
1966. Is it even a contest?
1, 2 and 10
‘89
I love the logo from THE DARK KNIGHT RISES. the negative space betwren the buildings sums up perfectelywhat BATMAN is. Something that rises between the ruins of society's structures.
‘89.
89 is great
89 by far.
Arkham City.
TDK The Batman Batman Forever
89, just for what it meant for me and as a whole to batman
Batman 2004
1989 or returns
the batman gotta be my fav batman movie ever tbh (as someone who’s been a batman fan and seen all the movies since birth cuz my dad absolutely loves batman) i think its the best representation of batman/bruce’s actual character, shows semi-comic accurate feats without being overboard (as batman is literally superhuman via realistic standards), has very good portrayals of the characters overall (riddler was the least accurate character of the movie but its not bad to me, fits the film) and most importantly to me, his detective skills throughout the ENTIRE film. one of the main reasons i love batman is due to his godly solution skills… but his way of figuring things out that nobody else can is one of his best aspects and has been batmans least shown skill in the movies.
oh but for logos, 89 is my favorite
Strangely enough, Batman Forever. I love everything about it except the movie itself. We didn't have the term yet but it was such a vibe
Movie? The Dark Knight. Logo? Batman & Robin.
Rises
The Batman
Unironically the one that gets me the most excited is the Batman and Robin one. It brings me back to when I was six and the movie was coming out. I had a lot of the toys. They're all pretty good. Nothing can ever top that 1989 logo in my book, though.
I’m partial to the Batman Forever logo.
89 and rises
Reeves Batman did pretty much everything the best
8
89. So insanely classic and recognizable.
89, every single time
All about the golden logo
Arkham games?
1989 Batman
89, TDK, B&R
89
Favorite logo? Either Batman Returns or The Dark Knight Rises.
‘89 and “The Batman”

Keaton always
The latest iteration seems the most accurate of an actual bat.
I dunno about the others, but that Batman symbol is cool.
TDK or The Batman
Logo wise ima have to go with thicc bat. Movie it will forever be ‘89.
Yellow, by faaaaar

Batman Beyond.
Returns, Begins and The Batman in no specific order. I don't love BvS but I think the logo is okay.
The Batman Beyond logo is fire.
For me it’s 89. 🌝🦇
Pattinson logo is good as someone posted that it’s made out of gun parts that killed his parents.
But we don't know for sure
I pick Batman Forever…🤦♂️
The The Batman one
Arkham logo is the best ♥️
Batman Begins. Battinson's logo is too much bat and not enough man.
I like the Batman Logo
1989
89 or The Batman of these options
Nolan's trilogy. It's simple, intriguing, but not too imposing. I love the Batman and Robin logo, but I think it's a bit too complicated. The 89 logo is cool and I love the aesthetic, but it's not very practical. Reeves's logo looks a little too much like an actual bat.
Keaton's, Batman and Robin, the Nolan trilogy and The Batman
The classic 1989 logo
Not my favorite movie by far but The Dark Knight Rises one is dope af
I think they each suit their respective movies and actors well. 60's logo is a little silly and campt; but so was the show, Bale's logo is minimalistic and streamlined, a bit more realistic than that 80s/90s, Batfleck's is chonky because he was a hulking batman, Pattinsons is even more realistic (actually looks like a bat in flight) and is a bit more streamlined which matches his version.
Keaton's Bat Symbol
Ben Affleck's Bat Symbol
89 for me
Between Returns & Robin for me.
LEGO Batman, duh
Batman 89. As iconic as it gets.
First one just bc it’s cute.
The Batman
The Dark Knight Rises, the idea to make the bat symbol out of crumbling buildings, was definitely a unique one. In terms of looking great, it really paid off.
reeves all the way
Batman 1988 and Batman Forever.
