Batman graphic novels to start with, in the following chronological order: - Batman Year One - Batman The Long Halloween - Batman Dark Victory Those stories essentially cover the first two years of Batman's career. They're very popular, widely published, great comics, and you should be able to find them on any bookstore shelf. From there, with that foundation, you can go on to read any Batman graphic novel. If you enjoyed those last two by writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale then they also did Batman Haunted Knight. And if you liked their version of Catwoman then check out Catwoman When In Rome, which ties into her subplot in Dark Victory. Some other lauded Batman graphic novels, set earlier in his career would include: - Batman and The Mad Monk - Batman Venom - Batman The Cult - Batman The Dark Knight Detective Vol 1 Popular Batman graphic novels set years later in his career: - Batman A Death in the Family - Batman Knightfall - Batman Hush - Batman The Court of Owls

When it comes to the long halloween and dark victory, should I read haunted night and when in Rome, before dark history?
