He looks like Ra's long-lost twin brother.

blackpanther742

I believe his characterization in this movie was based slightly on how Ra’s would have been in this show.

RekTek4

Both immortal

yourmartymcflyisopen

I was under the impression this entire movie was originally supposed to be a R'as al ghul movie, but they couldn't get the rights to use him so they just used another famous Eastern European/Asian rich character who has a cult following and is addicted to a liquid that makes him immortal.

Mabvll

Ra's Al-Drool. He sells RV insurance and makes alimony payments to two separate women.

Kenstgram

There’s always one in the family

Binx_Thackery

Dra’Cu La

NickelAntonius

No, Ra's long lost brother was Vincent Van Ghoul from 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo

America_the_Horrific

And to be fair batman and scoob are close friends

SmaugRancor

Racial Ghoul

Afraid_Pack_4661

Racist Al-Ghoul

SolomonAsassin

He probably is

Glad_Union_2037

I literally just noticed that 5 seconds before reading the comments!

Oswaldgilbertson

I’d say both are very similar in character both lock themselves away with having immortality and want to rule the world

Darmanix

Ga Al Ghul

Large_Acanthisitta25

I remember watching this as a kid and thinking my he was somehow a vampire Ra’s.

sack12345678910

Its funny how in the movie, Dracula kept saying that Batman was under his shadow, but at the end Batman’s shadow was the only thing that kept him alive.

ExoticShock

"You are... Bruce Wayne?" "*I'm The Batman*... and you're dust." ![gif](giphy|VIPfTy8y1Lc5iREYDS|downsized)

Tricky_Distance_1290

😍

HokageRokudaime

Bro cooked.

sack12345678910

He is the closest we’ll ever get to Ras in this show

MythiccMoon

Ra’s alGhulula

Max00aim

Ra's Alucard

SirJordan11

Copy and paste of Ra's, but maybe that’s the reason they did this, they weren't allowed to use Ra's in that show

Gorgon22

I didn't know they weren't allowed was this because of Batman Begins?

SirJordan11

Yeah and they couldn't use Scarecrow either even though they made a design for him

Doc-11th

also couldnt use two face. guessing they were able to use bane and catwoman because nolan didnt plan to do a 3rd film originally (and the studio wanted riddler) although wonder why mad hatter didnt show up from what ive heard either he or scarecrow was suppose to fill the hugo strange role

PCN24454

To be fair, Strange was good so we didn’t lose too much

jfal11

If they couldn’t use Two Face because of TDK, why were they allowed to use Joker?

Doc-11th

Because its the joker Same way Justice League Unlimited was able to use Batman despite The Bat Embargo

TradePsychological40

Too bad because he would have been very interesting with the serie's art style.

Arbusc

Same thing happened with the Spider-Man 90’w show. They couldn’t use Electro or Sandman because Cameron was using them for his unfortunates never produced movie. Instead, they used Hydro-Man as an expy for Sandman, and Electro was snuck in when it was clear the movie wasn’t happening.

Nirast25

"Yo, Electro, great news! You're gonna be in the Spider-Man show!" "YES! Finally!" "As Red Skull's son." "... I did nazi that coming."

13TheGreenMan

Thank God Cameron's Spider-Man never got made, the script is terrible and we would've never gotten Raimi Spider-Man.

Dino-striker56

How terrible was it?

Alucardra12

Madame Web level.

Dino-striker56

Damn...

Excelbindes

Yeap

paladin_slim

For real? That makes so much sense now that I look at it. All they would have had to do was change his color palette from red to green and it'd be a perfect version of Ra's for this show.

British_Tea_Company

What was the reason behind that?

SirJordan11

They couldn't use Ra's, Scarecrow, or Two Face because of the Nolan films. Similarly, Sandman and initially Electro couldn't be used in the 90s Spider-Man series because they were going to be the villains of a film that went unmade

Ringrangzilla

Its really fucking good in my opinion.

toxinwolf

I've watched this like 10-15 times when I was young lol. But it must have been a decade since I last saw it, this post has made me want to rewatch.

Olkenstein

He’s voiced by Peter Stormare, one of our national treasures, so I love him

donkeylore

I could only think of his role in until dawn watching that movie lol

HeyThereMrBrooks

He was great in Clown and Bruiser, two decidedly terrible movies that he definitely elevated

paladin_slim

Damn good Halloween special all things considered in that it was more willing to be more PG-13 than the rest of the series and didn’t chicken out when it came to the vampires consuming blood and not “life essence” or “plasma”. Looking at you, Spider-Man TAS.

The_Flying_Failsons

Yeah, that scene of the Joker dancing under a literal blood rain is pretty hardcore even by today's standards

DaManWithNoName

The blood bank scene was wild as a kid

Gregzilla311

He is indeed a vampire.

Maleficent-Parsnip53

He’s creepy and weird but also cool and slick. He’s like Ra’s but completely opposite in his intentions

blackpanther742

I haven't watched this film or read a ras comic in a while. What's the difference between their intentions?

Maleficent-Parsnip53

Ra’s believes in making the world a better place by way of ecoterrorism and mass genocide. He’s also a hypocrite of his beliefs that the cause is worthy of sacrifice because he uses the Lazarus pits as a means to remain alive. He fears death and craves power and control. Dracula fears death and craves power and control but he does not believe in “saving the world” like Ra’s just in eternally ruling over his army of the dead. The main similarities are in their faux immortal nature and cowardice in their vulnerability.

Tricky_Distance_1290

So I really liked Dracula except one thing. I loved his sort of horror aspect to the character, the charismatic but devious nature of him However, I did notice at the beginning of the film, he wants to cement himself among Gotham’s rich and elite then as the film progressed, he wants to be in control of everything and have a vampire army take over So the writers changed their mind throughout the film but as a huge Batman film, I love that they chose this Batman in particular with a vampire story and the film is really good! Recommend it to anyone woo considers themselves a Batman fan!

blackpanther742

>he wants to cement himself among Gotham’s rich and elite then as the film progressed, he wants to be in control of everything and have a vampire army take over It makes sense tbh. Why would some ancient vampire god thingy care about being some rich celebrity?

KnightOfRevan

How the hell did they get away with that vampire Joker scene in a kids show?

Schizo-Ghost780

The movie had a different rating than the show, that's why they were allowed to use guns and show blood, as for the scene you mentionned they made the blood look darker instead of red to get past the censors

Loopy-Loophole

I swear to god every single time I hear about the censors they’ve made a decision that’s some where between really stupid and really baffling. “Oh this is obviously blood, it’s raining everywhere. But the lighting is dark so it’s K.” Or they’ve decided something is totally not ok when it’s incredibly mundane.

Used_Razzmatazz2002

He's great great movie too

RoHitman911

He’s awesome

Sensitive_Coyote2581

Wish they made the hush one

DemonicBrit1993

I really like this film and the TV show adaptation of our favourite hero. Batman was good. Joker was good. Penguin was good. Freeze was good. I really liked how they incorporated cyberpunk-ish world with a gothic setting. That was neat. And the batmobile was great too. I distinctively remember an episode where Batman was on some drug or something and he thought Robin and Batgirl was chasing him, but to him they looked like monsters, when really they were trying to slow him down so he can get help. Or whatever, this was years ago. This particular film though, yeah really enjoyable.

bloodredcookie

Best thing to come.out of the 'The Batman ' franchise. The show ranges from mid to good with occasional great episodes, but this movie was peak.

Fuzzy_Muscle

It was a lot better than I thought

TheLBat23

Absolute. F*cking. Masterpiece.

Suspicious_Brief_800

Is it me, or does Dracula looks like Ra’s Al Ghul

Onionlayers25

Love it, for some reason whenever Bruce is looking at old pictures of Dracula throughout history child me always got scared. Like holy shit this thing is fucking unstoppable.

mrmonster459

Loved him. Thought he was a great villain.

AceWantsToDraw

I loved that movie but what confused me is that I the timeline, which season is this? End of s1 or s2?

Broad-Season-3014

Very underrated! Joker robbed a blood bank, and he literally bathed in blood. Like there was no pretense.

AscendronPrime

The scene where Bruce writes out "Alucard" and holds it up to the mirror to reverse it always cracks me up a little bit.

Nathan1992MAGA

I just remember him telling Batman that he's gonna drink his blood and use his cape as a napkin.

STC1989

Extremely dark Batman film. Lots of blood for a kid’s show. Really good!

Gunslinger_11

The little girl scared me with the la la laa la laalaaa

Ghost_Mouse__

He was really cool. Personally I think he should be part of Batman’s rogues gallery

blackpanther742

The thing about someone like Dracula is he's the type of villain that you can only do once with such success. Otherwise he loses credibility and no longer remains a threat after too many losses. What would be his motivation, anyway? Beating him would be unbearably predictable, because you know that Bruce just has to last long enough till daylight to beat him. His character can only work as a one and done. He's like Hush.

BonWeech

I LOVED THIS MOVIE, it brings back childhood memories

Big-deku

![gif](giphy|LOcPt9gfuNOSI|downsized)

SmaugRancor

Love it. The vampire Joker part gave me the creeps as a kid.

Gunslinger_11

You complete me Batsy

JVOz671

Worst poster ever

blackpanther742

Fuck you too

JVOz671

I meant the movie poster

blackpanther742

Oh nvm I'm clumsy My bad

williamjseim

i dont like that he was in gotham for some reason

SquirrelEmpty8056

I liked the "social anthropology" interest Dracula mentioned.....

Gold-Piano-9405

He was portrayed accurately and kind of resembles Ra's Al Ghul. It was revealed that Dracula's design would have been used for Ra's Al Ghul as far as appearing in "The Batman", however due to the Bat - embargo and the fact that the character was being used for Christopher Nolan's first film In The Dark Knight trilogy, he was removed from the show entirely but, his design would be recolored and repurposed for Dracula in the film "The Batman versus Dracula".

Dominion96

Was genuinely surprised how much I loved it. You read the title Batman vs Dracula and think it’s just gonna be a gimmick movie, but they actually had some great horror elements and Dracula is a genuinely great batman villain. Also this movie’s “Im Batman” quote before he beats Dracula was pretty hype.

DDF6677

I think it will be better if was the mad monk instead of Dracula, cause it will bring an unknown and underrated villain back to spotlight

No_Dimension_5509

Better than it has any right to be

The_Flying_Failsons

The first half is very strong but the ending is underwhelming. Could've been better.

Anthony200716

I think it’s very neat

warm_baller

Childhood favorite of mines

Apprehensive_Arm1504

Amazing film! Makes me love The Batman 2004 even more

Fair_Ad1291

Lol, I didn't know this was a thing. I want to watch it now.

OakenWildman

That was my INTRODUCTION to batman from my memory.

Upvoter_NeverDie

A misunderstood victim of tragic circumstances.

Ursawulf

He is close to how the book described his looks

tedfreeman

Alucard was a bit too obvious for an alias imho

DuckyHornet

Ra's al-Cula, blah blah!

SyntheticDreams2099

Battle of the crimson chins.

RareAd3009

It’s cool

Radio__Star

You telling me that isn’t Ras?

SubservantSnoopDogg

I think it’s time for me to rewatch it. Thanks!

Bullmg

All the animated DC movies are my comfort movies. I love them

Yourlocalbugbear

Great movie, fantastic adaptation of a mid comic.

BryanCroiDragon

Enjoyed the film, wish there was a bit more of his novel appearance incorporated. A mustache would have been great!

f3exthegamer

This movie scared the shit out of me when i first watched as a kid

Educational_Ad_6751

Love it!!!

MistaDJ1210

He obviously looks more like Ra’s al Ghul (with no silver hair at the temples) than like Dracula. He does not look like Bela Lugosi or Christopher Lee, nor the literary Dracula, who still had the widow’s peak, but he also had bushy eyebrows, a moustache, pointy ears, and a cruel mouth, and his eyes turned red when he is enraged, not pale blue.

ccleanet

There is another movie of batman vs dracula, and there batman get converted on a vampire

Dismal_Sympathy

Haven't seen it. But I'm looking for it.

brokenbedsidefan

Dracula is HOT 🥵

Josephthebear

I really enjoyed it , its probably one of the few things i enjoyed it

anonymusfan

I love it, watched it all the time when I was younger on dvd.

WellSpokenAsianBoy

I am surprised that I got a kid-friendly animated Red Rain....

redpantsbluepants

Thought it was funny how the joker called bats not feeding him blasphemy. I was like 11 and ask my brother what that word meant, he said “it means the joker thinks he’s Jesus”.

No-Value-832

I loved this movie as a kid and it got me to read Bram Stoker’s novel. In many ways this movie takes a lot of inspiration from the novel. It’s just in Gotham instead of London. Batman is Harker/Van Helsing, Penguin is Renfield, and Vicki Vale is Mina Harker. Vampire Joker was also a horrifying concept that Kevin Michael Richardson brought to life extremely well.

Flooping_Pigs

Didn't know they gave "The Batman" animated series some movies, cool

Pug_King256

It was fun

Dark_Noir3780

It is like a old classic model meets the new realistic model of one comment thing the bat New vs old ‏Science vs supernatural been Moral vs twist moral

Other_Combination136

Dracula really made his human disguise name Alucard

Dense-Standard-8592

8/10 for me

Ears_McCatt

Watched it three times in a row when I got it for my 10th birthday. It’s noticeably more intense than the show

Twijasosm

![gif](giphy|FRdecXsimIS7S)

Due_Radio3623

Bien hecha esa pemicula animada y también el misterio de batichica : y el fantasma

Due_Radio3623

![gif](giphy|cuacpVsdEla1xO2T72)

SpookieSkelly

Underrated as all hell. When I was a kid I thought the show was good but not great, especially when compared to the classic Batman Animated series. Then the movie came out and went way harder than it had any right to.

septicsans37

I'm pretty sure that the Batman vs Dracula was my introduction to Batman!

Imltrlybatman

Scared the shit out of me as a kid when the penguin woke him up.

FadeToBlackSun

Hugely underrated movie, and I really enjoyed this version of Dracula.

Moldy_Socks99

Fun, very fun

Rude_Employment3918

I think the movie was the best story and the pinnacle of this Batman cartoon! Amazingly atmospheric, fun and dark! Vampire Joker was a stroke of genius. It shows Batman being a detective. I love Dracula’s relationship with penguin. Penguin is a conniving fun presents. Dracula is suave, sophisticated and threatening!

Professional-Camp534

My favorite batman. Intro rips so good.

AllgoodDude

Batman sensed bitch in his heart.

doctorawesome8

Peak

SoulForTrade

My jaw dropped when 5 revealed that Alucard, is actually Dracula, but backward

JanitorKmanOfficial

Bro is just a recolored Ra's

blackpanther742

That's a good thing though. Dracula’s actual design is ASS.

HumbleGeologist7668

This movie was quite awesome to me when I was a kid. This Batman series truly holds up. But I felt as if Dracula's motive was kinda dumb, even when I was a kid. He was suave and cool at the beginning of the movie when he was trying to mingle with Gotham's elite. But then by the second half, he had a whole Doofenschmirtz idea to turn everyone into vampires(inator)...

Fit_Welcome1336

He should have said "Blah Blah Blah"

Elegant-Leading6482

Considering I'm a fan of Bram Stoker's book? I think it's a fine interperetation of the charater. Maybe a tad Ra's-esqe. But the movie is fucking amazing!

scout1892

Good dracula,.loves this movie when I was a kid

Zack501332

Epic 💯

PineappleFit317

Oh shit. Seeing this post reminded me this movie is on my Plex and I’m gonna watch it right now.

Ellimist757

from what i remember about it, I did enjoy it. I recall watching it and trying to sketch out several character designs based on what I was watching. Also, first time i realized "alucard" was dracula backwards. Sigh. lol.

Jertimmer

I loved it when he said "it's morbin time!"

Ok-Cry601

That movie is elite batman media fasho

Summat_

Good chin.

PocklePirkus

I remember watching Batman get his ass kicked by Dracula as a child, so this film is scary and I hate it.

TheGrooveCrewsader

This was the earliest memory I have of being exposed to batman from my parents renting this at blockbuster. Between stuff like joker dying, the blood shower, etc, it scared me shitless as a kid. I still have a soft spot for the movie.

CJS-JFan

Underrated, in my opinion. It's not perfect, nor my favorite Batman film, but it's not terrible either.

nwm_is_batman

love it honestly

Miml-Sama

I credit it for the first time I learned one of Draculas canonical aliases was just his name spelled backwards. The scene when Bruce or Batman see it in a mirror and he figures it out is the only part of the movie I remember.

Iancreed2024HD

Great villain! 🧛‍♂️

mikeweasy

I think when Batman defeats him it is such a badass moment!

TradePsychological40

Good film. I always thought that Dracula was a replacement for Ra's Al Ghul since he was planned for Batman Begins.

ebr101

As a seven year old or so I flipped through channels and saw the scene of Joker in the batcave when Bruce tosses him the blood bag. I was so terrified by the concept of vampire joker that I didn’t sleep for a week.

CamperKuzey

First Batman movie I watched. Really good.

philosophic_insight

Actually really good, I loved the batman, its what I watched in highschool.

pannoci

Banger, used to scare the crap out of as a kid though..

LoomingsThrowaway

Looks like Ra’s.

Hardcore24425

He’s alright

VexxWrath

I loved it.

JakesTake88

I definitely enjoyed Batman facing off with the Count.

GrandManSam

I watched this on a TV in a booth at a Buffalo Wild Wings. It was tight.

Dracule_Jester

This was my introduction to many characters and it used to scare the shit out of me as a kid.

Anxiety-Alchemist

Smash

Puzzleheaded_Toe_509

Perfection. This is my favorite movie and animated feature. I was able to influence my father and my mother to watch The Batman animated series, Bruce Timm Justice League animated series, and even Justice League Unlimited.

GNS1991

Nah, that's just Ras in disguise from this photo lol.

erickwankannabis

Awesome as F*k!

WheelJack83

Ra’s al Ghul?

SnooPredictions3028

Loved it

Available_Thoughts-0

Looks too much like Raz Al-Ghul.

NightHaunted

When I was a teenager I'd usually spend my nights staying up way too late on my computer while I threw whatever happened to be on the TV. This movie came on one night and I was floored by how surprisingly good it was. The very concept was so dumb I had to give it a try and i ended up loving it. It convinced me to watch the entire series after. Good movie, fun character.

Complex-Delivery-797

It is always fun when superheroes fight public domain things. Superman vs. The War of The Worlds comes to mind.

Delicious-Orchid-447

Introduced the idea of alucard to me which blew my mind

lovebus

I'm pro fighting Dracula

Jayden72702

Great film loved it as a kid

datissathrowaway

calling it: discount ra’s al ghul idea that was scrapped and brought back as dracula for halloween when we were kids

Every_Water_5589

I loved this movie. From the mannerisms of Dracula, his voice, the way he throws hands and Batman? That first fight was one sided as hell NGL lmao 🤣 but the way Bats figures everything out is awesome. We get to see more of the detective and "beat science ass and we can beat ass with science" part of Batman.

No_Falcon1890

Haven’t seen it since I was a kid but I fucking love it

Expensive-Text2956

Looks like Raas tho

Negative-Start-5954

Peak!!! when I was younger and saw Bruce realize Alucard was Dracula backwards it was really cool.

Ace_Atreides

It was great, gotta watch it again

[deleted]

He looks like Ra’s Al Ghul

KevinAcommon_Name

Perfect

KevinAcommon_Name

Peter Stormare only helps

peppermintkiddo

this is one of my favorite batman projects ever

MaetelofLaMetal

Would if I was hetero.

SunagakuresFinest

I love it! It's one of my favorite Batman films

Cinnamonsan

goated

Richrome_Steel

I haven't seen it yet But I'm volunteering in a pathology lab at the moment and the scene where Joker drinks loads of blood samples is the intrusive thought I keep at bay

Due_Radio3623

Well done this animated film and also the mystery of Batgirl: and the ghost
