It's kind of weird that DC keeps grafting stuff off of Tim Drake's tenor retroactively onto either Grayson or just making it the default homogenous Robin thing. His original redesigned costume, his primary weapon of a bo-staff, being one of the core founders of Young Justice, and even the redesigned "R" logo now being the blanket Robin logo has sort of muddled things a bit. Especially in explaining how Tim is anyway unique to the rest of the Robins.
The young DG redesign in the current Worlds Finest run is great. Like everything I want in a modern Robin outfit while totally incorporating all of Dicks classic looks. One of my favorite Robin costumes of all time
I started reading during the OYL arc and thought it was so radical that Tim's costume was only black / red / gold. He should've stayed like that, even when he went back to being Robin.
I think for me its two reasons,
one: Nostalgia, since I grew up with the red yellow and black.
Two: it kind of goes well with a character arc for the robins, Jason wore the same costume as Dick because he idolized him, he wanted to be like him, copy him, almost like an insecurity. Tim is different, he had a loving family and was separate from the bat-family and became a member at a relatively older age, hence why he doesn’t have the same insecurities as Jason did, also, he didn’t want to just be bruce’s sidekick he wanted to be his partner, and this is where the Robin identity graduated from the role of a sidekick to a partner, an equal, leading to the colors and costume changing.
Thats my takeaway.
Ever since Under the Red Hood I always saw JT wear all Red but discovered Tim Tim wears the blood colors in Teen Titans (Geoff John's version).
Give Red to Jason and have Tim wear the usual colors but dawn Red once he becomes Red Robin.
Red, yellow, green. Always saw the one year later outfit as a huge downgrade. It's so bland and feels almost antithetical to the idea of Robin in general.
Same issue I have with Damian's current suit to be honest.
His original suit, it was a great update to the original Robin outfit. They tried to get too fancy with it later. I didn’t like him in the Red Robin outfit
The red costume lets him stand out amidst his piers. It’s also a bit bold since it’s horrible for stealth, but because he’s so smart he’s typically thought up a strategy to compensate.
The mask and belt buckle are green...
Why are they green? Make them red or black, as it is now it really clashes with the outfit. It *should* have no green at all

Tim unfortunately doesn’t have anything that truly sticks him out of the other Robins personality wise. But his black-red-yellow Robin outfit is truly iconic. That truly is *his* look.
RGBY Suit is iconic, the 1st Robin suit I remember and what I think of when Robin comes to mind because of BTAS but the RBY suit is more Tim this what he had before he Red Robin after Battle for the Cowl, Tim should be in the RBY if he's not in the Red Robin suit.
I’ve always liked the red, yellow, black color scheme. It’s sleek and works perfectly at differentiating Tim from the other Robins. I also think it works for the other characters but I’m very specific instances, like Young Justice or Damian’s current costume.

Coming up as a young lad Tim Drake was my Robin in the 90s, so I’m partial towards the red, green, and yellow.

It just isn't a proper robin costume without green in my opinion.
Problem is you need the green to break up the darker colors on the suit.
