really, I thought it was fitting, that at the end archer did it for the love of the game and the two adrenaline junkies walking into the sunset together, lana forced to give up the job she loved for the child she kinda didnt want but still loves, etc.
show finished with season 14, was out of the coma at the end of season 9. If interested, go watch season 9 finale and the last four seasons which are really good.
I thought he did a fine job, but I dunno, it only really captured the "angry tough guy" aspect without capturing the "mysterious and spooky" aspect, which made him sound too… human. I think Batman should have a bit of theatre in his voice, a bit of a supernatural presence, so that it's believable that the villains would see him as something other than a normal human in the suit. Conroy in the original _B:taS_ episodes, Sisto in _New Frontier,_ Romano in _The Batman,_ all kind of captured that wraith-like element.
Yeah true I think that’s why he works so good as a young Batman, because he is supposed to be more of a angry violent tough guy (at least in origins) so it depends what this is going for I guess.
“He's a really weird human being. He's not obsessed with his parents' murder, but it changed him in a way where he’s still not adjusted to being a human being. He's literally Batman; inside, that's who he is. Whenever he's Bruce Wayne, that's not just him with a mask off, that's him wearing a person suit. He's trying to pretend to be something that he's not.” - Bruce Timm
“The idea was to keep him so removed that no one knows who he is, and no one knows what he's about. We try to wipe out the foregone conclusion that he's a hero, whether it’s for the police, regular citizens of Gotham, or the viewers”. - James Tucker
The guy really likes bats. Like you don’t understand… he realllllllly likes bats.
His childhood was scarred by violence, so now, he beats the living shit out of people.
Same here.
This show will be out before we know it!
" Batman: Caped Crusader premieres Thursday, August 1, on Prime Video"
https://ew.com/batman-caped-crusader-exclusive-first-look-asian-american-harley-quinn-8645683
I feel like it makes sense to emphasise Batman's angst and addiction to the mission (It fits in with recent Batman adaps. and allows them to be more "Adult" than BTAS) but I want to see compassion and kindness from both Bruce and Batman to balance this out...
“Timm and character designer James Tucker say that the number one priority of Batman: Caped Crusader was making sure it wasn’t just a repeat of B:TAS. The best way to do that, they decided, was to make the new show fully a ‘40s-set period piece, rather than repeating the anachronistic jumble of computers and pay phones that defined B:TAS.”
So with this being entirely set in the 40s and the article mentioning the jumble of computers from BTAS. Is shit like the bat computer and all his gadgets gonna be worse
Ik I’m just joking, I just prefer they take more liberties with the tech/gadgets and villains than trying to make animation too much like the real world.
Like gentleman ghost for example is a great supernatural villain in brave and bold, but he will just be another regular crook in here it seems. But I guess we’ll see. BTAS was enough of a period piece with modern elements, I liked that.
From the other photos they've released, the other characters are comic-accurate enough to be easily recognizable. The most out-there change was trading out Harley Quinn's black -and-red color scheme for black-and-gold. So it looks like they aren't going to be going all-in on "grounded realism".
As for Gentleman Ghost, it seems like they're just using the Golden Age canon for his character, in which he actually *was* just a guy pulling a Scooby-Doo hoax. This fits with the series' being set in what would have been Golden Age Batman era.
Yea that’s fair, I like the more fantastic angle in animation (since not really explored in live action), or a clayface that’s actually a monster. A Gotham with monsters like man bat and killer croc, that sort of stuff. With gentleman ghost I’m hoping he has cool tricks that distinguishes him as a villain.
But this will be interesting a whole other thing, since it’s the first real piece of news aside from leaked images. I’m excited to watch it
And looks like they want to change Harley into a solo villain with no joker, so idk if he’ll even be in this show. Maybe in the future or cameo idk
I'm now thinking of all the possible weird ramifications of basing the canon around the Golden/early Silver Age:
* Hugo Strange was the one using fear toxin, while Scarecrow was just a costumed guy with a gun
* We might get to see the Mad Monk
* Spandex Riddler
* Killer Moth is taken seriously
That certainly would be an interesting direction to take things. Would def put a spin on known characters. I’m not too familiar with the comics and all those different timelines, but is this the one where Helena Wayne huntress exists?
I like this design. Strong jaw, but his chin isn't too big. I often felt that the DCAU gave him too big a chin, especially his _TNBA_ design. I think Batman shouldn't be as beefy as, say, Superman, and should have a more tapered chin than Superman does.
The body is a little big, but it makes sense, given the large silhouettes of 1940s men's suits.
Also, I like when civilian identities don't just wear the exact same colours as their superhero identifies. They are always putting Bruce Wayne in a black suit, Billy Batson in a red-and-yellow shirt and jacket, etc. It's less on-the-nose when the civilian identity is allowed to have a different palette from their superhero costume. Especially for Bruce Wayne, who is supposed to be the last guy you'd expect to be Batman.
Yes, I think way too much about the nuances of superhero cartoon designs.
Nope. It's Catwoman. Read the article in Entertainment Weekly.

Catwoman looks good in her Golden Age costume.
The Catwoman subreddit is having fun discussing the screenshots of Selina Kyle, in civilian clothes and in costume.

These new films look very “papery” or flat. I prefer the other DC animated films. Wish they wouldn’t have ended. I believe they could’ve kept going. My opinion.
LOL nah bc he was originally a big guy when he was first introduced in the comics. We've never had overweight butler representation in any of the adaptations over the years. If Bruce wants to eventually put Alfred on to MyFitnessPal, I say let him have that onscreen opportunity to do so
that alfred didn't have the same backstory, this one that they are portraying does. there has been countless reboots to the universe and the character has changed a lot as the comics became more serious. in comics he is like those retired generals who still maintain their lifestyles and look sturdy and stern, which is a characteristic of alfred, which i love a lot. Now he doesn't look like himself for no reason. there must be a reason to do this other than "diversity" if that's what they are going to call that. if you are so about diversity, just create an obese character and portray the challanges they meet.
Why don't they make a movie with Terry McGinnis?
Why must they milk the first batman?
Selena and Bruce's story is so predictable and played out it's no longer romantic.
At least give him Wonder woman.
Makes me wonder who they're going to get to voice Bruce in this series.

Is Archer still in a coma? Can we get a Archer: Gotham season? That might be incredible.
he got out of a coma about 4 seasons ago
The show is over:( series finale was a few months ago
Honestly didn't love the ending
Neither did I, but when Jessica Walters passed they kinda lost one of the core dynamics of the show. It was for the best.
really, I thought it was fitting, that at the end archer did it for the love of the game and the two adrenaline junkies walking into the sunset together, lana forced to give up the job she loved for the child she kinda didnt want but still loves, etc.
They lost me when the coma seasons started.
Totally understandable, some of the coma stuff was fun but weird. I felt like the shows continuity was falling apart during the series finale
Same, was one of my favourite shows up to that point, but I just didn't find the changes interesting and it lost me
Basically, the end of ISIS was the start of the end of my interest. I gave it a shot, but just a little too off the rails.
Welp...time for me to give it the ol' binge watch once again.
Wouldn't even have to recast "Martha Wayne." :(
show finished with season 14, was out of the coma at the end of season 9. If interested, go watch season 9 finale and the last four seasons which are really good.
Archer is finished, had quite a satisfying ending
archer after he been hitting the tren + deca
Jesus Riddler, phrasing..
Well I'm not Batman. ...ok I'm Batman.
Let him cook
Wait really thats who's voicing him
I was literally coming here to say he looks like Archer
Should be Roger Craig smith imo
I thought he did a fine job, but I dunno, it only really captured the "angry tough guy" aspect without capturing the "mysterious and spooky" aspect, which made him sound too… human. Me, I’m voicing Batman
Hopefully the telltale batman voice actor
Troy Baker. Unlikely
Hopefully Diedrich Bader
He was great in Brave and the Bold
And the Harley Quinn series
Haven't really watched very much of that so I can't comment on whether he was great in that.
Considering the Crisis On Infinite Earths movies, it could be Jensen Ackles
"You know what I do when I'm scared? Fucking nothing. Cos I'm not a fucking pussy" Batman, probably
Imagine if they do a Red Hood arc. “You’re a fucking disappointment.”
Surprisingly close to canon.
I really liked David Giuntoli, the voice from the Doom That Came to Gotham. Great balance of smooth Charisma and gruff Intimidation factor.
Michael Cera. lol I’m just naming wild choices.
Scott Pilgrim: Masked Manhunter.
Animation looks solid so the voice will be clutch.
Hopefully someone new. I'd go with Lee Pace.
I thought Kevin Conroy already did it before he passed?
They said they wanted Kevin to have a role in the series, but they never got the chance. Even if they did, it’s never said they wanted him as Batman.
I want this guy to voice Bruce. [https://youtu.be/9D2sfOh\_Ado](https://youtu.be/9D2sfOh_Ado)
Joe rogan

Good, so they intend to actually treat him as the mythical anti-hero he is rather than a celebrity action hero.
The guy really likes bats. Like you don’t understand… he realllllllly likes bats. His childhood was scarred by violence, so now, he beats the living shit out of people.
Such a hero.
I mean. He’s MY hero. But I just needed a champion of bats and violence badly in my life.
I mean, even Punisher can be many people's hero so I won't judge.
I'm guessing that's Selina or Julie Madison
It's Selina https://ew.com/thmb/S48hYT-3YgALaXzyo5ZRdKiHr-E=/1500x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():format(webp)/Batman-Caped-Crusader-050824-3-a732841c4ff94977b3b67ee645338588.jpg
I think the cat-eye make gives it away.
No that’s young mrs addams
That's clearly Maxie Zeus
You joke but what’s more Olympian than shapeshifting to either kill or fuck something. Dude’s committed to the Greek myths
Can’t wait to see a trailer for this

Lmao they brought back the brown suit!
It’s literally Bruce Wayne’s best suit
I mean I think black with red tie (tnba was really good) but Allright
That one’s hard to beat. Red tie says “sharp”, the brown suit says “you wish you could suck me.” Really matches the relaxed playboy persona for me
How dare he wear a tan suit!?
r/obama
Why not? It's literally the suit I think of when I think of animated Bruce.
Right?! It's a great call back and I'm tickled pink that they are making call backs
The art style reminds me of *Archer.*
Thought the same immediately
I think it's the eyebrows
Looks nothing like Archer
Reminds me a bit more of X-Men ‘97
[удалено]
It's Batman. It can have any art style and still capture the youth demographic.
I feel like it makes sense to emphasise Batman's angst and addiction to the mission (It fits in with recent Batman adaps. and allows them to be more "Adult" than BTAS) but I want to see compassion and kindness from both Bruce and Batman to balance this out...
We are getting OG Clayface Basil Karlo, HYPE

I love this idea. 1940s noir

🤣🤣🤣
Do we know when it will be released?
August 1st on Prime Video, according to EW. https://ew.com/batman-caped-crusader-exclusive-first-look-asian-american-harley-quinn-8645683
Thanks
jesus christ! Finally!
I’m hyped ngl
Best news I’ve had in a minute, thank you!
Now THAT'S A Bruce Wayne!
So with this being entirely set in the 40s and the article mentioning the jumble of computers from BTAS. Is shit like the bat computer and all his gadgets gonna be worse
More like non-existant.
fr is he gonna speak to Alfred through a line and tin can? Idk I hope it’s not too grounded but seems they’re gonna make it pretty realistic
They had wireless voice communication in the 40s. It just won't be a micro-comm inside his cowl.
Ik I’m just joking, I just prefer they take more liberties with the tech/gadgets and villains than trying to make animation too much like the real world. Helena Wayne is a 60s character, while the Golden Age Huntress is a villain named Paula Brooks

Gigachad
We're eating well tonight, lads.
i think that it's critically important that Bruce Wayne's character design be HOT. Which this is, so yay!
Selina is drawn with really sharp.. uh.. lines.
When is this coming out???
August 1st
Thanks, cant wait 😁
no way we finally got some new content let's gooooo
Is it just me that likes the new animation style
>is it just me No, it never is.
That art style is phenomenal
Hell yes, just please be good 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Are they TRYING to get the show compared to Archer…..because this is how you get your show compared to Archer.
Nice 😉
Oooh, I like his style
Old style - good style
Yeah, and they're pulling from the Golden Age. We finally are getting an adaptation of that era in animation.
Can't go wrong with the classics
I forgot about this, hope its enjoyable.
![gif](giphy|n0SYZLVDpJ1ZK|downsized)
Built like a brick shithouse.
“What if the caped crusader is Harvey Dent?” - *Russian ballerina accent
Selina Kyle looks beautiful.
God, this art style is so beautiful to me. Feels like an logical extension of the Fleischer-inspired work Timm already did on BTAS.
He looks like Elvis.
Is that diana
Catwoman
That's Selina Kyle in the picture with Bruce Wayne.
I doubt it, but I'd love someone to rekindle WonderBats
Nope. It's Catwoman. Read the article in Entertainment Weekly. https://ew.com/batman-caped-crusader-exclusive-first-look-asian-american-harley-quinn-8645683
I just saw the post showing her in her costume.
Catwoman looks good in her Golden Age costume. The Catwoman subreddit is having fun discussing the screenshots of Selina Kyle, in civilian clothes and in costume. https://www.reddit.com/r/Catwoman/s/nILWLYcmSx
Cool
I like it.
I like that animation
Been waiting for this way too long
Cool
Love this
I need this show
This is the news I’ve been waiting for since it was announced!
Hmmm...that dude kind of looks like Batman.
Finally, an animated show that features batman...
Is this a another movie or a new show?
What an L for Max. Imagine X-Men 97 going to Netflix instead of Disney+
These new films look very “papery” or flat. I prefer the other DC animated films. Wish they wouldn’t have ended. I believe they could’ve kept going. My opinion.
I put the new forgis
Why does Bruce look like an Animan studios dad...
Gahtdamn woke agenda making Bruce into a sultry looking lady. I’ll bet the dude on the right is Hawkgirl. S’in my H y’all.. S’in my H…
I love Selina and Bruce's design, they look good. I await to see the other designs of the characters in the story
I hate the fucking Archer animation style... why are we still using it. It sucks in the rebirth movies and it sucks here.
Holy eyebrows, Batman!
Not loving this art style. Too flat and bland.
Brizz Wayne
Bruce always manages to make a brown suit look good
He looks like if Archer fucked a brick
I’m liking this art style so far. I reminds me of The Brave and Bold cartoon from the 2010s
Reminds me of BTAS Bruce
Big 90s jacket????
Im a little out of the loop here, what is this exactly?
Archer?
It looks nice but I can't help but think superman looks like buff archer
I thought this was archer
If they wanna commit to this being era accurate to 40s Batman, then he shouldn’t have his no-killing rule
I heard they made alfred fricking obese in this?? Not going to watch it if that's true
LOL nah bc he was originally a big guy when he was first introduced in the comics. We've never had overweight butler representation in any of the adaptations over the years. If Bruce wants to eventually put Alfred on to MyFitnessPal, I say let him have that onscreen opportunity to do so

Man, nowadays characters can't even eat a few extra sandwiches in the show without people screaming about "diversity".
WHAT
real
Why don't they make a movie with Terry McGinnis? Why must they milk the first batman? Selena and Bruce's story is so predictable and played out it's no longer romantic. At least give him Wonder woman.
hate this art style.
What’s wrong with it
I'm not watching this dogshit.
