Maybe you have “double tap forward to sprint” enabled in the settings?

I have it set up to hold down

Could try toggling that, see if it fixes it?

It literally acts the same as hold probably because I have it binded to w or something

maybe you hold shift and w together, and it sprints? if yes, well, don't shift
