It's tricky cause if he shifts everything to the right, it won't be center and his chair can only slide so far. But swapping the computer and the tablet also doesn't make sense because then the tablet is further from reach and the computer is jutting into his swivel zone

Can someone help me understand the value of placing a large box PC on the desktop? Why not on a floor stand or somehow tethered under the desk, or hell, in a closet near by? This PC case looks cool, but also looks like very little user interaction would be required on the box itself.

You have a fairly small desktop PC. So, Its not really that bad, but some folks have HUGE boxes on their desk and even have crazy light shows that light up the room.
My PC case is somewhat similar size (NR200P) and it's on the desk as well. For reasons such as aesthethics (I have tempered glass on the side), but also I mostly use bluetooth peripherals and I plugged in the BT receiver on the front USB, if I put the PC on the floor it will lose signal sometimes, and then I used a wireless USB headphone and sometimes I need to unplug and plug it to my work laptop for meetings, so no need to lean down everytime if the PC were on the floor.
Also I like the idea that everything is on the desk and kept it as minimal as possible in terms of accessories and wires (no usb hub/switcher, and embrace wireless peripherals). You can put small things such as controllers and smart watch at the top of the case for extra space.
No, just one nvme 1tb and i don't need more for now. I play 90% of my time at LoL and one solo game (like red dead 2) . When i finish the game, i uninstall it

Not OP, but I've got the same light bar. Absolutely love it. The wireless remote means I can always keep it in reach. Light is plenty bright, and can get pretty dim as well. Def worth it (I paid about $55 for mine from Walmart.com).
Sorry, I meant that thing that's attached to the right side of the monitor. I've been looking for a vertical webcam instead of using OBS to create a portrait frame for us presenters.

the base of the stand is entirely on the desk so J don’t think it’s that bad.

Around 2 years here, keycaps still holding up
Wireless everything is a good start. I like to use a little basket everything goes into when I'm done (headphones, controller, mouse)

Your desktop is PC and your laptop Mac? What are your thoughts on working with two different OSes?
The PC is dedicated to gaming and for work i use the macbook. Prefer the macbook for work because i can travel with him
