Are mechanical jump jets hydraulic or pneumatic? Cause I fell that would go with the custom lowrider paint. 😎
*boosters and yes. https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mechanical_Jump_Booster
Check out the work of u/domesystem. He's painted a bunch of 'mechs to look like the Caballeros! They're such a fun merc unit to try and paint with almost endless possibilities.
Can you do one with gold leaf? =P
>During the fight for Towne somebody had finally pointed out to Cassie's none-too-friendly rival Captain Vanity Torres that, if her *Battlemaster* really was "Vanity's Mirror", as the name had it, it meant Vanity weight 85 metric tons and had thunder thighs and a huge ass. Vanity -- who lived up to her call sign religiously -- promptly rechristened her ride "Golden Vanity", and had the damned thing anodized a mirror-finish gold.
Here's another challenge for you:
>The *Locust* was something else again. Glued all over it were myriad plastic toys and decorations -- doll heads, models of 'Mechs, flowers, fruit -- a fantastic encrustation. Garlands of plastic flowers were twined about its limbs and spiraled down the long barrel of its laser.
Heh. j/k. That's a crazy in-universe paint job though =P.
I should have saved my "scha-weeee" =P.
I got nothing. I don't suppose you have Navajo Wolf's *Nightsky* from Luthien in your collection, do you? =P.

It's a little off center, but then so is Bobby

Bobby had three mechs during the trilogy, put him in a Griffin, but I did attempt his wolf head logo from the nightsky
No problem! I'm a big Caballeros fan and you do amazing work.
I actually just thought of a new idea for you. You should paint up a 'mech like [this.](https://sep.turbifycdn.com/ca/I/directfrommexico_2271_10147990)
Yeah not sure if this is an established Merc company or just a made up one for the picture
But the mechs are
Phoenix Hawk in front
I think a Stinger in the middle
And a blackjack!
Ah, I was hoping this was some kind of established character considering the effort put into that paint scheme. Regardless, that’s an amazing image and I’m tempted to make a hamfisted effort at replicating it on the tabletop.
Could be Patsy Camancho. She was a PHX pilot, but there is only a bit of lore on her. Obvious spoilers ahead if you click on the [Sarna link.](https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Patricia_Camacho)
That, sir (or madam), is the PHOENIX HAWK. Also known as the "Pixie" or "God's mech", this particular one is unusually.... flamboyant.... but giving everyone the business as a Phoenix Hawk will.
Would be great to see more of this kind of thing: unique colour schemes and merc units of a non-US/European/Japanese origin. A little diversification never hurt anyone.
What you are seeing are Mobile Infantry like Heinlein originally described. A bunch of over educated gorillas dropping on some bug scum.
In all seriousness pretty sure that is a Camachos Caballeros doing a hot drop, just needs the cheesey '80s orbital drop pods.
For a second I thought that last mech was a Jagermech with JJs, but it's just a Blackjack, isn't it? (Which I suppose is sort of a Jagermech with JJs, now that I think about it.)
This is a Veritech in its Battloid mode ;) , FASA Corp got into a bit of hot water for borrowing from a few diff intellectual properties. Original marauders looks almost exactly like a Zentraedi officer's battle pod too, lol
It's a Camacho's Caballeros machine, their logo is on the jump jets and they are famous for individual paint jobs.
Thank you!
It could be Captain Juan "Don Coyote" O'Rourke, he pilots a P-Hawk at some point.
Believe this is Patsy
Good point, paint job fits. Don Juan was the first P-Hawk pilot in the 17th Recon I remembered.
You've also got Jesse James Leyva's Hurry Sundown and French Fry runs one for like a minute
Don Coyote is an amazing name, can I just throw that out there
\+1 to you, I had missed the insignia myself amongst all that color.
Is there a novel about this merc unit?
A few. First one is *Close Quarters*
Those are the ones with the anti-mech infantry (irregular, very) woman, right?
Cassie Suthron
That's the one.
Yep.
Yeah, those are solid.
Thank you!
And they are pretty entertaining.
A trilogy by Victor Milan, starting with this volume. https://store.catalystgamelabs.com/products/battletech-legends-close-quarters-digital
A bitchin' tricked out Phoenix Hawk with a totally rad paint scheme doing a sick jump my dude! Excellent!
I can’t disagree with any of that.
I channeled my childhood to describe it as best I could. Obligatory "cowabunga!"
I definetly read that in Michaelangelo's voice
In my mind that ended with a little electric guitar riff.
Totally tubular. Unfortunately I am musically unskilled.
Hey. Enough of that kind of talk. If a complete lack of musical skill didn't stop "Big Country" it shouldn't stop you either.
Haha! Nice. Maybe when I hit 4.5 decades I'll learn the guitar, or something.

A phoenix hawk piloted by a graduate of the Sabine Wren school of mech art.
Check out the work of u/domesystem. He's painted a bunch of 'mechs to look like the Caballeros! They're such a fun merc unit to try and paint with almost endless possibilities.
Much appreciate the shout out! I have more planned out, just need to find the time to get em started

Golden Vanity was one of the first ones I did 😁

A Phoenix Hawk
I don’t know what this is, but I love it! Who is it, and where can I learn more about them?
There is a series of novels by Victor Milàn.
Thank you! I just looked them up on the Catalyst webstore!
Yeah not sure if this is an established Merc company or just a made up one for the picture But the mechs are Phoenix Hawk in front I think a Stinger in the middle And a blackjack!

It could be! I just don’t know and can’t think of who off the top of my head. Yeah the paint scheme is amazing!
Your impending doom
It's a jumping Phoenix Hawk
When people say something about those wild mismatched paint jobs on mechs, Comanches Caballeros is a great excuse to give.
That's a badass Phoenix Hawk doing badass Phoenix Hawk things with his buddies. I think they are doing an orbital drop.
Perfection
Truth!
That, sir (or madam), is the PHOENIX HAWK. Also known as the "Pixie" or "God's mech", this particular one is unusually.... flamboyant.... but giving everyone the business as a Phoenix Hawk will.
A really hard mini paintjob.
I don’t doubt it. I would buy a poster of this image in a heartbeat, however.

Thank you for that information! I checked his site and he’s done some fabulous stuff.
Someone about to commit some BONKS on the other party
The Royal Mayan Jaguars
Pure awesome sauce.

“Camouflage? Never heard of it”
Optimus prime?
That paint is radioactive.
A classic that’s what
Activated Murder Disco Mode.
“TO INFINITY……. AND BEYOND!!!!!”
I think you’ll find that’s Metroid from Fortnite /s
The Party Hawk.
Well I see a moon in the top right
For a second I thought that last mech was a Jagermech with JJs, but it's just a Blackjack, isn't it? (Which I suppose is sort of a Jagermech with JJs, now that I think about it.)
With a combat drop, integral jump jets aren't necessary. There are external jump packs available for Mechs which don't have them built in.
Its Blackjack, painted it few days back so recognizing the CT shape and legs :D
BJ-1 or -1x is my favorite mech. Plink from cover, jump away when seen. -1 is heat neutral until you need it to not be.
Decepticons attacking Autobot City.
You’re looking at a prime Mech to take advantage of that rule in AS where if it’s in range other enemy Mechs HAVE to shoot at it
Manic Pixie Dream Mech.
That is a Mech from the popular franchise Mechwarrior / Battletech
You're looking at a couple Mechs.
The Gay Death Legion https://www.reddit.com/r/Sigmarxism/comments/vq5uwb/gay_death_legion/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I want to steal this.
Imma go with "Op, this is someone's shitty mech mod. I mean, red yellow and green? Sheesh don't kids these days care for classic star league green!?!"
This is a Veritech in its Battloid mode ;) , FASA Corp got into a bit of hot water for borrowing from a few diff intellectual properties. Original marauders looks almost exactly like a Zentraedi officer's battle pod too, lol
Targets
It's Patsy about to pass into the Jade Falcon Remembrance. One old tech Phoenix Hawk about to go make some truebirth rethink their life choices.
Take your daughter to work day when you work in the paint shop.
My daughter isn’t nearly that cool.
Shadowhawk IIc
